Reposting because I'm sitting on so much fucking MINT ready to go 50% of net worth next dip into SSO.

>2x all daily returns/losses reset daily
stonk only go up long term
>ETF will collapse if s&p 500 drops 50%+ in a single day
This has literally never happened, not even half that. Highest daily loss was 20% followed by 12%. Circuit breakers hit anyway now thanks to Mr. Whale and his flash crashing.
>Don't hold it long-term even though these are true anon!
Tell me why not. Why would I not buy SSO every market dip and hold this fucker forever.

Probably the larger-cap ones like XOM or CVX that will buy the little guys in financial turmoil. Oil will be back sometime in 2021 but all the smaller companies didn't have the cash/investment rating to keep going. This will result in industry consolidation, especially for US oil companies.

To add to that though, oil is so volatile because the market isn't balanced. Our supply shortages and surpluses are artificially created by OPEC+ turning off their spigots, most recently with the Russia/Saudi price war. Fracking is destroying ME oil, but can only turn a profit if oil stays over $35ish a barrel. That's another reason oil dropped so hard recently, the Sauds and OPEC were trying to run all the US frackers out of business by driving prices down and burning their cash. Problem is frackers are a dime a dozen and just file bankruptcy and more pop up when they turn the spigots off. Entire industry is really interesting but I personally don't like it.

The underlying index SOX would have to actually drop >33.3% in a day for that to happen and it hasn't come anywhere close to that ever since it became a thing in the mid nineties. SOXL going down 33% in a day means nothing and would not be a termination event

Nothing wrong with that, man. If you wanna use SSO and reduce your risk even further consider throwing in some TLT or TMF in the mix. Long term treasuries tend to inverse stocks for the most part yet still go up in the long term. Combining SSO and TMF in your portfolio probably won't even cost you any gains but the volatility of it all will significantly decrease. I think it's not too late to but gun manufacturer stocks, hear me out.

Biden's position should be on a lazy boy chair, falling asleep to WWII documentaries on the history channel at 7:45pm. Literally nobody wants to bend over backwards for the mob like the democrats are doing in a foolsih effort to channel the BLM/anti riots into votes. Even if Biden wins we are getting a hard right candidate the following term due to soaring crime rates caused by blue cities. People will be snapping up guns for both personal protection and for the dems potentially DBZ style final revealing their true form of communism.

So basically: Invest in and gun manufacturers or sporting good stores. I went to dicks the other day, a wrapped around line for handguns and shotguns. I think it's gaurented profit leading up the the election and even more if Trump loses. Also I would invest in actually having a gun if you do not.

Microsoft, Apple, Walmart, defense stocks, etc.
You could look into playing the 5G market. With so many Western countries banning Huawei, someone in the West has to take up that slack. I don't know enough about this industry to recommend anything, though, so do your research.
Alternatively, try green energy stocks. Not necessarily solar, either. Just companies working to lower overall emissions while still generating power. NEE might be a good choice, though they're a bit pricey.

I don't really get the constant up and down throughout the market. I get algorithms constantly trying to skim profit off of literally everything but otherwise the real humans out there selling shit when the line goes down a bit are truly, utterly retarded. I guess that's what happens when highly evolved chimps play with money but goddammit why can't people hold longer than 24-48 hours and realize profits? They have a decent product whether you like the look of it or not, and clearly thousands of normies are buying the stock - but somehow it tanks on zero news, zero rumor. The only answer I can think of is that big brains and algorithms are shaking people out to buy more cheap shares, and the people praying for it to fall are either shorting or just retarded bears

Repos started when? Last october right? And they stopped sometime last week? This will force financing through private means. Wondering if this is why banks cut divs, buybacks etc so they can provide more loans, liquidity etc. It would help to boost loan revs and shifts all risk to the big banks not the fed. Just a few dots/ideas i'm kicking around right now. Need to search how many businesses raised private capital kinda like DAL just did.
