670!

I only just started building credit. I have one credit card, and some student loans. I recently paid off my cc, waiting for that to jump.

Just checked, it's to early to give me one apparently.
My credit card is younger than 6 months.
I'm 18, any good advice?

Don't ever put more than 10% on your CC. Always ALWAYS pay off your CC before the billing period posts. Every 6mo or so check to see if you can get a credit limit increase, might not if you have a secured credit card to start out with.

After 1-2yrs move up from a basic credit card and get one with rewards. Citi Double Cash card is great, 2% back on everything you buy and pay off.

From there just take care of things and your credit score will naturally go up. Took me about 2yrs but I was already in the 700's by then and I'm now in the 780's.

Just don't do anything stupid like take out loans or buy a car with a loan you can't pay off.

>got my first credit card when i was 18
>started with 771 credit score
>20 now, have 745 (because I've made a few more accounts since then)
>have 10k total credit and one card with a limit of $6800
What did they mean by this? I have a buddy who started with like 600 and the most he qualifies for are secured cards with a $300 limit

Both my parents have perfect credit. My dad has like an 850 credit score. Could that have something to do with it?
