So we can pump them all, duh

Utility and obfuscation. More coins means there's more blockchain to track, meaning the gov doesn't know what to do with itself. Fuck the Fed.

>> No.2029840

No. Unfortunately blockchain technology is accessible to every neet on this basket weaving forum, so they're will always be an infinite amount of crypto assets waiting to be shilled.

Bitcoin is the original crypto.

The rest are divided into two categories:

Coins with new features:
- Litecoin: faster processsing than BTC due to different algorithm
- Ethereum: smart contracts allow scripting
- Ripple: some sort of transaction tech I don't really understand
- Golem: some kind of trading protocol built in
- a few others

Scams:
- Personality coins (trump, lepen, milo, doge)
- Bitcoin clones (bitbean, bizcoin etc.)

Because different cryptocurrencies specialize in different things.

>> No.2030719

We don't. Most coins are indies taking advantage of poor people trying to get rich quick. It really is sad.

Like what? I know darknets would prefer anon coins, most likely for transactions in the $50-$5000 range, but for the rest of us, why would we need different coins for currency? Would the housing market be traded in a different coin than the coin for buying coffee or a car? I am really wondering how they would all fit in together (at least for currency coins).

Altcoins are a way for devs to siphon actual money via BTC.

DASH and Monero specialize in privacy. Useful for your illegal weapons or drug trade

Litecoin will soon have the cheapest and fastest transactions. Useful for micro purchases, like buying a coffee with crypto

So you think we only need 2 if Monero beats out dash or vice versa?
