Alright, so I was reviewing the footage and now that I've seen the beginning of Sleepaway Camp, I can't believe that anyone didn't see the twist coming.
I still haven't decided if this woman is supposed to be a man or what. I can't find anything that leads me to believe she was ever not a woman, but I just look at her and she looks so mannish. That must have been deliberate.

And that weird scene where the guy starts puking and they show us something and we don't understand what the hell he's looking at, that's a 3 campers in sleeping bags that got chopped up with a hatchet.

Meh. Will not happen for quite some time.
The US economy is a tank. Innovation, a low level of corruption, a stable system, a wealthy population, the worlds reserve currency and companies like Microsoft, Google and Amazon that dominate the globe.

China needs one bigger crisis and they go down. And their level of corruption guarantees that actually capable people go to the west and the son of mayor Chang gets control over the infrastructure department.
You only have to kick in the door and the whole rotten structure will come crashing down.

Maybe in 30 years you will see actually relevant Chinese companies. If they kick out the commies that is.

if you think the US economy has a low level of corruption you are sorely mistaken, the cracks of it are beginning to show thanks to covid. Also, China has had the biggest explosion of middle to upper class income in the past 2 decades, and while that has slowed down recently it still is insane how much the Chinese economy has grown. Alibaba is basically Amazon Asia, and Tencent is basically Google in terms of how many industries they're in. Just because you don't use them doesn't mean that they're irrelevant.
Many Chinese people actually go back to China after being overseas because you have a much higher status there if you've been educated in the US, and the booming economy basically guarantees a cushy job. Considering the Trump administration's stance on immigration that is only going to accelerate.

I hate China and it's policies, but you cannot deny that they are catching up to the US as a world power. I would give it 10 years.

Looking at my computer all my components are either made in the US, Taiwan or Germany. Your computer will also only have parts from companies of these three countries inside. Maybe 4 if you have some Samsung SSD.

>>20284450
>if you think the US economy has a low level of corruption you are sorely mistaken, the cracks of it are beginning to show thanks to covid.
If you think the western world is corrupt you do not know Asia. A whole different level of corruption and mismanagement.

>Alibaba is basically Amazon Asia, and Tencent is basically Google in terms of how many industries they're in. Just because you don't use them doesn't mean that they're irrelevant.
Both exclusively Chinese. Not knowing the numbers exactly but Id be surprised if even 15% of revenue of Baba is non-Chinese.
They are relevant only in China, partly because their party bans western competition. Which, naturally, encourages laziness and even less competitiveness compared to their western counterparts long term.
>I would give it 10 years.
Way longer.
Companies, stocks and the "general feeling of the economy" as Id describe higher standard of living are not really synonymous. So far no Chinese company can compete with the west on even footing. Which is quite telling when companies from Taiwan or SK can. Taiwan has so many tech companies from Acer to Asus to TSM, SK doesnt even need examples. China has Baba, Tencent and... Westerners would already be hard pressed to name more than Baba.

I also see a big problem when that wealth creation slows down. The country works because it gets richer fast. When the country stagnates the people may no longer accept a party that keeps them down and takes their stuff away. And there will be a lot of infighting in that regime when resources get sparse.

This is a common trap most starting investors make. That as soon as they realize they could have been investing earlier they go overboard. Keep enough liquidity for being out of work for about 8 months and also budget fun vacations or expenditures.
Don't make yourself miserable just so as an old fogey you can "start" living.

This is basically me or soon will be. I started my big boy job last year, $64k a year but will soon rise. Not that great but I’ve already saved about $25k since then. The hard question for me is how much to put into my 401k? I was at 15% for awhile then I realized that is stupid because I will need liquid cash to purchase real estate. Now it’s back down to 6% and I am saving for a down payment in a taxable investing account. I worry about little things like that a lot though. Thinking I should pull the trigger on going Roth 401k. I have a Roth IRA but went trad 401 for “diversification”. Feeling more and more like 100% Roth life is the way to go.

Bears are the true patriots that embrace the free market. Bears say let the free market determine price with no manipulation by the fed. Every day ALL of your energy companies gain on average 1% a day. Let's even ignore the 1% expense ratio.
With the 3x leverage you're getting approximately 3% a day. And if you got 3% a day for 60 days in a row, you'd have a 5.89x.
