Most broker market orders "should" be near the last bid/ask price. Movements you make money on are swings of several % so it won't matter if you off by a penny or so. There is a lot of misinformation about options. Selling naked calls and puts can be dangerous, especially naked puts. But covered calls are how you hedge risk and generate returns on low volatility slowly rising stocks or recover costs basis on downward sliding stocks. You sacrifice the "infinite upside" with covered calls and as a long term strat it removes to performers from your portfolio but its a good option to realizing the loss outright or "averaging down".

Yes, a contract is for 100 shares so if you have 100 shares of ampy you "cover" a sale of 1 call contract.
Some sell options contracts without holding the underlying which means if you get assigned you have to buy 100 shares per contract for a sold put or sell 100 shares for a sold call.
Imagine you get assigned with a sold put on Amazon you'd be on the hook to purchase 100 ~3k shares when its falling. The downside for selling a call is the "loss" of your shares but it is how you dig out of holes.
