even before speculating, TSM itself has great growths and their fabs are amazing. When US said TSM couldn't sell (new orders) to Huawei anymore, it wasn't TSM that was fucked, it was Huawei. China is rushing towards SMIC right now, but they're only good for the bigger processes. TSM made back those lost sales easily. TSM's fabs are years ahead of SMIC and also Intel.

etc etc. Look into their fabs and compare it to the competition. Bottom line is, they will survive through any foreseeable crash.

TSM pulled it's business from Huawei when the US said they had to. That's not terribly neutral.
Looks like Trump has won them over by promising massive subsidies to build a top of the line factory in the US. And the Taiwanese are likely desperate because they know they're next after Hong Kong.

But really, if the Chinese manage to dominate the waters over there, would the US bust through to come to Taiwan's rescue some how? It seems like a battle destined to be lost.

the part about being TSM wanting to be neutral was based on the small mention in here
https://time.com/5837274/tsm-chip-plant-arizona/
>Executives at TSMC, which operates plants in Nanjing and Shanghai and makes chips that go into everything from 5G networks to American fighter jets, have emphasized the company is neutral.
>“The scale & technology is similar to what TSMC did in China, suggesting a balance between the U.S. & China,” Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. analysts led by Mark Li wrote after the announcement. “Overall, this is probably the minimal price to stay neutral. TSMC needs both U.S. & China to maintain scale & stay competitive and this is probably the minimal cost to keep this strategy.”
sure it could just be lip service and the analysts reading too much into it, but it is smarter for TSM to play both sides.

Regardless, I'd have put money in TSM even without talks of a subsidy.

Lithium-iron batteries are going to dab on ICE automakers so fucking hard one day. It won't even be close when they reach the consumer. That's iron with an R as in I'm going to be Really fucking rich. People even here thought Tesla was a scam when it was trading at $200. Now there are those that don't understand why this company will eventually reach $15k.

There are different kinds of YOLOs/gambles. I would split the gambling money into the respective ones. For instance, have an amount of money that you will spend on one FOMO stock, something that's being hyped up and pumping and you can't help yourself but go in. A lot of the time you will lose in this kind of play due to bad timing, so this must be an amount of money you're okay with losing. Then there's another type of YOLO play, where you found some cheap penny stock you're speculating might grow at some point in time. It looks stable, so you aren't fearing that it's gonna dump right after you buy in. So you can afford to put a decent amount of money in for a substantial amount of shares so that the upside is huge. The amount of money you're willing to risk for this play will be a bit higher than what you would for a FOMO cliff dive.

my current dream for the universe biting boomers and these kike fucks in the ass is a modern great depression in the next year or so. Feds started injecting fucking billions into the housing market and loan market to keep property values up and loan APR rates low as soon as they had the cover of corona to do it under. Fucking jew banks took that shit too. The feds can't keep printing money forever and once corona goes away people will see just how bad things really are and the economy will collapse hard. If I had to guess though I think the whole corona scare is going to be played until at least next years spring. So it'll take some time for normies to realize just how fucked the economy is right now. People thought the crash in march was bad and that 2008 was bad? they are in for a reality check.

Splendid. It's approaching time to talk about silver's resistance points. There are two (on the spot price usd/oz): 18.90 and ~20.70. It already hit and momentarily bounced off 18.90 earlier this evening. 20.70 is the multi-top high from 2016.

Current month contract futures price is trading at 19.23. Following month is 19.40.

With interest rates so low banks probably want as many mortgages as they can fill. And now they are requiring a 780+ credit score. Not to mention how many wealthy people are in cash, and the narrative of a great escape from the cities. Banks get to rebalance with their choice clientele, I'm sure they won't object.

Right. The Republicans are getting stingy this time around. Trump wants to put a 1 trillion cap on this package, and they have discussed checks, unemployment, back to work bonus, infrastructure and state budget bailouts. I doubt they help out mortgages especially after 4 months of forbearance. And for some they'll have 4 months of mortgage payments due in August, forcing sales. Overleveraged landlords will take a big hit, but I doubt there will be much sympathy for them. If you can't pay after 4 months of forbearance you probably shouldn't be a landlord.

In theory it’s not so bad. You put down $100 and you could lose that plus another $200. It opens the door for bad habits.

There you are. I was saving this ridiculous article for you lol.

>As Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) expands quickly in China, how exposed is Tesla to Elon Musk’s possible entanglement with Chinese authorities? Is this silly to ask? Perhaps as ridiculous as the possibility of a pandemic before it all started. There have, in fact, been hiccups with high profile foreign executives detained in China, as we detail below. With trade tensions between the U.S. and China remaining high, investors should not discount such possibilities.

>Here’s the thing. Of course, Elon Musk is outstanding. However, his volatile temperament and squabbles with government authorities ranging from the SEC to local health officials in Alameda County, California, have grabbed many headlines. Now Tesla is quickly expanding operations in China – deliveries are scaling up from the company’s Shanghai plant, and demand is soaring post the Covid-19 related lockdowns. (See our interactive analysis How Will Tesla’s Strong Q2 2020 Deliveries Impact Earnings?) This likely means that Elon Musk is going to be traveling there a lot, interacting a lot more with Chinese regulators, suppliers, customers, and the Chinese government – that, directly or indirectly, owns many of these small and large entities. What risk does this present to Tesla stockholders? The short answer is – Musk should NOT want to mess with Chinese authorities.

More exciting is metals, precious and otherwise, on the move this morning. Gold and silver doing a for realsies leg up here and not stopping at top of recent range. Copper and palladium up. I'm eyeballing palladium quite a bit lately. It looks like it's thinking about maybe considering tacking on an extension to the previous bull charge. It has bounced off 1820 low several time now and hit a rich vein of buyers each time, moving back up within a day or two. Now range bound. Monitoring.

Natural gas might make a move to mid 1.90s. Not super confident on that one (no position).

Bankruptcy threat. DAL, AAL, and UAL have all previously declared bankruptcy. These companies can survive with restructuring but shareholders would be wiped out. Airlines in general took 4 years to recover from 9/11. International travel is fucked more than domestic but most of the profit lies with them.
Airlines fall with bear cycles but the GIBBS support would spread out the margin artificially. No reason to act on late bull market industries when you can shift to literally anything else in the meantime. Also similar reasoning for casinos and cruise lines.
