You go to an exchange and move your BTC (or ETH) to the exchange.

More noob questions

-Just got a Coinbase wallet and got a few ETH, if I want to buy other coins how do I move them to Poloniex or Bittrex, do I have to make a new wallet with them?

-So is it worth getting into mining for ETH right now? If it's not worth the hardware, how about pool mining? What sites are good for that?

I've barely dipped my toes in the world of crypto's, I know what they are, however, I've never really bought any, though I have opened a wallet with multibit a while ago just to test it out (was about to buy some monero when it was 7$ but I couldnt get my info to buy from the sites fast enough).

Now in (((Current year))) which wallet should I pick and which bitcoin exchange should I select to purchase my first few bitcoins/shitcoins? I heard that most places you need bitcoins before exchanging for other coins? Would be nice to have some direction from an experienced anon or updated sources.

As for the wallet, I'm stuck on a laptop now for a while so I can't really get software that's too bulky. I don't have a mobile but I could probably get one in a while.

coinbase isn't really a wallet from my understanding. There are cold wallets and hot wallets. Hot wallets can be hacked (like coinbase) and are typically apps on your phone where youre supposed to store minimal amounts of coins. Cold wallets are basically fancy USB drives. A good cold wallet is a Trezor. bread wallet. Mycelium. Jaxx are other hot wallets that I have been recommended although I cant attest to them personally. I am new to this... just started Tuesday in fact. But I am a quick study and it sounds like you need to do your own homework and stop copying other peoples answers. Also a word of caution....there was a scam I heard about where people are putting fake wallets on the google and apple stores. So look at the reviews and make sure there are a lot of them. This is new ish technology and still prone to hacking. At least that is my understanding. No the coins but the apps wallets etc theyre stored on.....except cold wallets.

Long-term holder who trades a small BTC futures account to stay interested and generate short-term BTC profits

Currently in a tiny long and waiting for inevitable futures retrace to add to position, with buys set at 1320, 1300, and 1250. I expect strong bull trend in futures and underlying bitcoin spot to continue since breaking ATH, near-term target of 1500.

Holding some LTC in a futures account as well to try and get exposure to rising LTC as well as generating LTC profits to eventually convert back to BTC. Currently long expecting a breakout to new ATHs soon, take-profit set at 15.50 futures with additional buys set at 14, 13.5 and 13. Looking to profit off of the inherent volatility in LTC futures and complement my BTC trading profits when times are slow.

For alts, I'm currently holding some VIA and a lot of RNS (RenosCoin). Via looked cheap at 13600 sat and have a take-profit set at 18000 sat.

Renos (RNS) is a coin I've had my eye on since early march. Bought a sizable position at 51 sat and have watched it run to 1800 sat on Cryptopia currently. I think it has huge potential and has only started to move as of mid-April. Now the top coin on Cryptopia by BTC volume and seems to still have strong momentum. Would recommend as a speculative buy you toss some risk capital at. For disclosure, I own approx. 200k RNS and have a vested interest in it continuing to perform.

This is a Question to all Cryptos:

What is the point if for example the ETH raise or goes down?

If i trade with Stocks there i hold parts of a concern for instance.

>> No.2013439

These cryptocurrencies are only backed by supply demand, buys and sells.

People buy it thinking it will go up and then more people buy it so it actually goes up. Some people will think it will go up a shitload in the future and will buy more and more. If it goes down because someone wants out, sometimes people panic sell, but others only will try to buy the dip, this creates support so it won't go back to 10$ in a short time or anything.

There's no company attached to it, so it can't go out of business, in a way it's less risky than investing in shares of a company.

Also people think ETH has some global use and so think it could become 1000$ or more, so they think it's cheap right now.

Is anything in particular driving everything up atm?

I thought ETH going up would have some impact on BTC but it's going up just as steady as always.

Probably, but it depends on whether you want to deposit or withdraw. I think they take about 1% for Perfect Money withdrawals. Back to your initial question, in most cases it just makes sense to convert a currency to bitcoins and then to usd. You're not losing too much in fees if the liquidity is high.

Who is they? The screenshot was from C-Cex for withdrawals at 7% for Perfect Money. Obviously I'm only interested in fiat withdrawal since I have a ton of DOGE from years ago.

Is it easy to trade crypto even if you're a complete novice trader? I'm considering trading between BTC and ETH, and have noticed that both follow a particular pattern - they tend to go up by a lot, and then back down by about half or a quarter of their increase (thus increasing steadily, which is what they've both been doing for years and look set to continue to do for the timebeing). Could I just keep trading whichever one is going 'up' for whichever is going 'down' without exposing myself to too much risk? And if both are going up, just holding?

Been trying for literally weeks to buy crypto with my hard-earned GBP, but the platforms have been fucking shite and I've been having lots of problems with verification. Finally found one that will work today, but my bank won't make the transfer because of 'technical problems'. Bitcoin is currently dangerously above it's 50 DMA, which has historically served as a signal of overbought conditions with an eventual retest of the 50dma.

The blue line is the 50 day moving average of BTC's price. The 4 highlighted white circles are the relative tops of the last bubbling-up periods (excluding the SEC-driven event which was just weird).

At all of these points, the gap between the 50 day moving average and the current price had gotten sizeably large. However, looking at this on a non-log chart is somewhat disingenuous, so I ran some quick back-of-the-envelope calculations on prior bubbles and their percentage distance from the 50DMA at peak.

Nov 2015: 77% above DMA
Jun 2016: 41% above DMA
Dec 2016: 32% above DMA
currently: 23% above DMA

So there could still be ample room to run, but at this point the risks are increasing to the downside and we've already seen the beginnings of a correction.
