I saw someone in the last thread asking long term PM stackers about bitcoin. Bitcoin is fundamentally flawed and has literally ZERO chance to succeed in the long term. Zero, it just can´t work. Who knows if the price will rise in the short/medium term, but it will fail in the end. Other cryptos will probably have success long term, but bitcoin will drag them all down, therefore bitcoin will be killed soon when they can´t milk it anymore. I have a good understanding of the crypto market, the tech, and my iq is around 130.
Bitcoin lacks a good codebase, is becoming more centralized, lacks innovation, lacks on chain governance, liquidity will drop over time, other coins will catch up, undercutting and selfish mining strategies will undermine the security, miners revenue will drop, and it wastes resources. It´s also extremely manipulated beyond anything you can imagine. It´s not a good currency nor a good store of value. It´s only good for making money.

According to this, silver ETF's total ~800 Million ounces. And JPMorgan is sitting on ~800 Million ounces.

Yet here,
>>20056252
it says that there is 180 times more silver traded on the COMEX than the total mine supply. So it's clearly not implying that there is 180x more paper value of silver than physical, it is simply that the velocity of the etfs being traded is 180x in terms of value.

So where is this idea that somehow silver ETFs are wayyyyy larger than physical silver. It still seems like it's a 1:1 parity. What's the scam here?

I asked him about Crystal Lake Mining some time ago, he gave me pretty good quick info on it.

I've been following them since and my shares gone up almost 50%, they seem to be on the right track for everything, including cleaning house, new hires, name change, new plan new game.

Good point, but what if the goverment alrdy anticopated this and ban all cryptos but one legit project and the black market de facto use this platform?
This way the gubment still can keep an eye on what's going on, or even backdoor said crypto and use it to control discretly the financial underworld.

That's like 100 ounces, you'd need around 1000 ounces of silver at minimum if you believe that the silver to gold ratio could ever go to those levels again. I personally believe it will be in the range of 25+ ounces of silver to 1 gold, so you would need around 2500 ounces+ of silver to match that amount of gold, which would be around 50k dollars or less depending on the price you could get it at, it's not entirely chump change but it's definitely do able.

The price volatility is a significant deterrent for me; bitcoin can halve in value in a few months or weeks - Gold and silver don't come even close to bitcoin level price volatility. There are no fundamentals; it's random as hell. Buying into the ponzi right now is a death wish. The people persisting in the crypto community are scammers and blatant shills. It's struggling to break $10k even after the PayPal news. Peter Schiff is right about bitcoin for the most part.

Anyway, I urge anyone wanting to invest in bitcoin to look into tether/bitfinex'ed. tether is the root of most of the manipulation that takes place. Anyone that says tether is legitimate is a shill. There's a ton of evidence of wrongdoing. tether imploding will cause a huge dip in price; it's just a matter of time. I have a feeling bitfinex'ed will be vindicated on his $15 bitcoin price prediction.

Slabbing is only necessary if you're anticipating numismatic value from your coins. If you're buying bullion coins, it's highly unlikely you'll ever get any sort of numismatic premium when you sell.

As for handling the coins (ASEs), I suspect that coins in nice condition are going to be worth more than coins that are dirty. Tarnishing, if it ends up toning the coin (some sort of purplish, reddish tarnish), maybe actually be worth something as some collectors specifically seek toned coins. However, you're best off minimizing touching of the coins to leave them blast white.

As for storage, if you keep them in the tubes they come in and cap them, they shouldn't tarnish if you keep them in a cool, dry, and dark place.

It's probably worth your while to just have one tube of coins (preferably in poorer condition that you buy at a smaller premium) to play with so you satisfy your curiosity. If you wash your hands and dry them off thoroughly before handling the coins, they shouldn't tarnish too much, if at all. I guess you could buy cotton gloves before handling the coins to further prevent any sort of tarnishing.

If you really want to handle a lot of coins, save up and buy 0.9999 gold coins. They will practically never tarnish except for the sometimes minute quantities of copper or silver in them.

Hey guys. Its almost imposible to find physical silver at an affordable price here in my shithole. So I am thinking of investing in something related to silver in the stock market, like silver miners. I already have a gold mining ETF, which for me is a nice way to have exposure to gold while having stake in comoanies that actually generate cashflow. What should I invest in my american broker to have the bext exposure to silver?

PSLV or CEF are the safest bet, in my opinion. Those are trusts that hold physical gold and silver and as a shareholder you own a percentage of the bullion. Read the prospectus, though, because the quarterly fees do draw down the quantity of gold and silver you will own, reducing the NAV of the securities.

Be aware that if you own shares in a mining company, you run the risk of bad management (lying about things, embezzlement) or bad luck (mine get nationalized, actual precious metals are far less than what the geological surveys and drill samples suggested, terrible weather). Some favored silver miners are PAAS (Pan American Silver) and HL (Hecla Mining).

My dearest friend, 'tis with immense pleasure that I inform you that your letter has found safe travel to my destination and landed in my hands. However, this pleasure was fated to remain short lived and bittersweet, for I must also admit to you, regardless of what distress it may cause to you, knowing you went to great trouble to pen it and deliver it to me, that I in fact declined to open it and refused to read the message contained within. Surmising your intentions, there exists no doubt in my heart regarding your sincere worries for my financial well being, but alas your attempts to convince me to modify my investment strategies shall regretfully remain futile, as my stubbornness in this matter has indeed been sealed irrevocably and no other voice shall rock its imperturbable foundations. Allow me then to reiterate my will once more, and do your best to forever remember it for no change will follow: I shan't part ways with my beloved asset for it is my utmost belief that I have invested wisely and foresee infinite potential in its future, and therefore no other possession in this world shall change my decision, not even a mountain of gold! For my possessed asset is indeed fated to be worth more than any other riches in the world. We shan't speak of this no more. Sincerely yours, your beloved friend.

based post, there is nothing behind bitcoin, or any of the others 7860 others ponzis shitcoins emulated after, all trying to get crumbs of the initial hype. What's making PMs so valuable is the fact they are stores of value.

What is a store of value? It's something that, no matter what, will always require a huge amount of human labor to produce. Gold isn't just a shiny rock, it's 6000 years of sweat, tears and blood, it's the ghost of hundreds of millions humans who died fighting wars or working hard to acquire it. It's the ultimate heritage of the human race. It's the human destiny melted in. The symbol of our willpower through the ages. Our planet hold 1 gram of silver for every 12.5 tonnes of dirt. Each ounce of silver in your stack represent 389 tonnes of rocks crushed, grinded, boiled, examinated, chimically separated, purified, melted, refined,... the very earth's essence sucked dry from it's heavenly blood using human workforce and 6000 years worth of technical evolution. It's ten times this amount for gold. We created the most magnificent and terrifying tools to extract precious metals. Not a single war could have been fought without it. And you can get it for 20 bux. 389 tonnes.

Meanwhile, any pajeet can create a scamcoin in a matter of few days, if not hours. It's hollow, empty, no sweat, no tears, no blood. No effort, no scarcity, no rarity, no heritage. You can have 10 trillions shitcoins, it still wont be worth a single ounce of silver at the end of the day. Because it doesn't store any value, since it's limiteless and effortless to generate.

To all the frens who are stacking here, who understood we are living a very weird, but short period of time where we have the insane opportunity to stack real wealth using fake paper shit : you have countless generations of ancestrors looking down at you, and all their ghosts are chanting in unison :
>my heir will fucking make it.

In few decades the history books will speak about this clown timeline where humanity totally lost it's mind, where real valuable things were dismissed, and worthless ponzis were sought after. The irony of the normies falling for tulipmania 2.0 out of greed while the real GMI material was there, just under their nose, but they never bothered to take it until it was too late.

I mean, don't the normans ever read a single history book in their lifetime? Gold and silver are the 2 most recurring words/themes since the dawn of times. It couldn't be more obvious it's the shit you should pick in priority.

We truly are. I just did accounting on my Constitutional stack, and it dwarfs my refined, almost 3-to-1. Most of it came from my grandfather's hoard, that my boomer father found and was going to sell off before he snuffed it. I got the coins, and was I blown away.

But this is what my grandfather, who lived through the Depression, and many others like him did. He saved back silver coins when the debasement happened. He socked away roll after roll of Mercs, Rosies, Washingtons, even half dollars (Kennedys and Franklins mostly, but a few Walkers). A few dollar coins even, one of them with a pretty hefty numismatic premium. I'm just glad I have it and can hold on to it if it's ever needed.

You're not too late yet anon.
Everyone in these threads typically either own a large amount of silver/gold or are still stacking.

It seems to me many here were aware of the fiancial situation we find ourselves in as inevitable.
Others may have known the end was near through a much longer time, but lacksd the the financial understanding, but started preparing in otherwise through system/grid down and lawless breakdown.

The average American doesn't even olf gold or silver. Keep that in mind. A system failure/civil collapse scenario will yield little value on silver & gold. People will want food, ammunition, blankets, a means to have fire, gasoline, shelter, toilet paper, water, a power generator, etc.

The point is to know how & who to barter with. How & what to barter with.

I think any government body that comes out of any civil unrest no matter what part of the world will be backed by silver & gold as the petro dollar system is a failure. However illnital collapse will be a trade & barter system.

Recently I read about how certain german/austrian families achieved to preserve most of their wealth from before ww2 to the founding of the Bundesrepublik.
In 1945 Germany was de facto "gold free" and the currency had collapsed once again, however miraculously some people did not start at zero when the government introduced the Deutsche Mark in 1948, they started with lots of capital. Those people prepared themselves long before 1936 (gold ban) and kept their mouths shut, they didnt use precious metals to trade in times of crisis either, they waited until there was a new government, currency and stable political system.

Where can one find statistics about the privat ownership of precious metals in a country?
I know its rather difficult to estimate, however even the smallest wedding ring will have more than 2g of fine gold, alloyed in 375/1000

I guess look up how much in mined a year then see how much is used in industrial used and what ever is left over is assumed to be private ownership then compare it to which countries buy the most PM's and use all that data to extrapolate a rough number

Ausbros. Never dabbled into junk silver before and was wondering if predecimal silver coins are worth having if you can get a bag for around spot. Or is the money better spent on 999 stuff?
Looking at this specifically. If I'm calculating properly it works out roughly to spot.

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1-kg-SILVER-Australian-Pre-decimal-Coins-1946-1964-sixpenses-Shillings/184348019773?hash=item2aebff8c3d:g:HmIAAOSwZrhe~ALC&frcectupt=true

Also is there anywhere you can get 1966 50c coins and not be completely ripped off?

Store them in plastic-lined Mason jars as a copper source. Those things are already worth more in metal than they are in face, so keep hold of them.

that doesnt tell you about the average person, that will just give you an estimate of what everyone would own if the gold in private hands would be distributed equally to all hands.
just like the calculations that every us citizen "owns" 26gramm fine gold if the us treasury would give out the gold to all people, which will never happen

Obama founded isis with "isil". He refused to call it isis. You just do seem cross comparison photos of the leaders of what isis was & you notice the agents with McCain & other U.S military were infact just those who became the isis forces.

Isis is a weird topic as .ost of them were U.S agents who essentially became too powerful to control or the very least were used to exploration the crisis in the Middle East for Israel to expand in as the leading force of stability.

"Greater Israel".
I think isis was named isis as an inner circle cult to the goddess isis taking advantage of most of their jihad members who joined them. Whether or not they truly became turncoat to the U.S government is feasible given they started printing their own currency.

The group becane a useful idiot.
Putin & Russia of course knew all this as well.

I think ISIS was started as a US patsy group, but Al-Baghdadi got so far out of pocket that the US and Israel decided they had to do something. But even till the end Israel didn't want ISIS to end, they were glad terrorists were weakening Syria. They've had it out for Assad for so damn long. I wonder if anyone out there has any gold minted by ISIS? If so I wonder what it's worth.

If anyone has the gold its going to be the locals, Syrians, Russian troops, & U.S soldiers.

With that said it really raises the question of what methods isis used to mint these and who specifically minted these.

ISIS basically took over a huge chunk of what used to be a pretty advanced country. There may have actually been members of ISIS who used to work for Saddam in the Mining/Minting industry for all we know. I mean, they were advanced enough to keep oil production going without of the help of foreigners.

Let's change the subject here....

Given the WHO is hoping to change the currency to compete digital transactions- of which we historically have never seen - what do you think this will do to gold/silver?

I think it could possibly only increase its value as people will supposedly ban a cash society.
