I haven't heard about WKHS before this weekend. Set an $11 limit buy last night, got 200 shares. Set a stop-limit sell immediately, nudged it up a bit, and it triggered shortly after.
"Stop 14.50, Limit 14.30" means the order goes active at 14.50 and will accept a price anywhere between 14.30-14.50 (sold at 14.50). If this was a plain sell order with a stop (aka stop loss), the price could've dipped below 14.30 and not sold.
Plain stop sell (aka stop loss) orders turn into market sell orders when the stop price is reached, while stop-limit sell orders turn into limit sell orders when the stop price is reached. No sale is guaranteed, but a stop-limit sell is useful with rapid price swings where you don't want to sell during very rapid drops because you expect it to moon again.

How big of a loss? Got rid of my fucking options on oil. No wonder oil as a stock to trade is hated so much. Algos probably got the contract they sold me back at a discount. About a 40% loss including ones expring in freaking January. The stock was stagnate for the most part with a slight downtrend that randomly went up at least once. Theta doesnt decay the premium that hard on it and fast 6 months out. At the rate it was going my options premium would be 0.05 by end of july. Cut losses as I dont want to be holding bags straight to 0. Shpuldve cit them sooner.
