This thread is so fucking slow plus no link from prev thread so it needs bumping, so I'll bite.

I clearly specified I wasn't talking about the average millenial nor boomer. I talked about the very few people who might be worth listening to. They are certainly not average people. They certainly are rich dudes. You keep missing this point and I'm starting to think it's intentional, i.e. trolling, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and the chance to give a real reply now that you can not possibly have missed the point any longer, since the thread needs bumping and all.

And just to drive home how far from the point you are.
> a millennial can be changed by talking to them and convincing them with arguments
Again, I'm talking about people worth listening to, not people who you think are easy to persuade.

Yeah I believe it. I think Disney is a long game in this market, they have been practicing at this game for almost a hundred years. Parents are going to realize the impact all this has on their kids and eventually only trusted brands will get through the parent filters and be allowed to brainwash their kids with the consent based on the idea that it will be the good kind of brain washing, kind of like school, and that's where Disney shines.

Wish I jumped out that one Monday and stayed out. Most of my realized and unrealized gains have been vaporized. Am also considering just fully getting out come Monday, this market is far too manipulated by MSM and algo's who feed off of MSM news articles. This either turns into a recession or bigger or everything goes back to normal in which case i wait it out until the next dump occurs. I mean thats what i did with covid. But at this point some of the stuff i got into is at about May or April lows. Even though i got in at a low price this is just ridiculous. Also need to gtfo out of my recent oil buy calls as theyve been nothing but utter garbage. Not about to lose thousands because MSM is bent on raising covid fear.

Point is, here's the two cases for present bullishness and bearishness:

>Bullish
>the Fed can continue printing and lending money for the foreseeable future with no consequences
>it's okay for stocks to be valued based on their 2022 and later earnings
>the boom in home retail investing by people who treat stock trading like online poker is a good thing for the market
>promoted by millennial/zoomer Robinhood traders, r/wsb users, /biz/ users, and the financial MSM

>Bearish
>stocks are at absurd valuations, as measured by market cap-GDP and P/E ratio, and are already at or have exceeded 1929, 2000, and 2007 levels
>the Fed can't continue printing and lending money without detrimental effects to the economy
>earnings have collapsed for the year, unemployment remains high
>even with no second lockdown, people will be fearful of going out and spending their money
>promoted by Warren Buffett and other institutional investors who have been doing this for decades

You decide which makes more sense. But missing out on money is better than actually losing money.

>doesnt look at deaths
look at pic related. It includes the graphs for daily cases and daily deaths.
Look at the onset of new cases that begins in March, around March 14. In ramps up and peaks around April 4 (then goes up a bit again around April 25, then back to declining until about two weeks ago).
Now look at the deaths. It starts going up around March 14 as well (because initially finding cases is essentially the same thing as finding deaths) but then it doesn't peak at April 4, like the cases do. The deaths peak about 2 weeks later, around April 25. You can also see the April 25 spike in cases reflected in the deaths about two weeks later, around May 9.
So as you can see, deaths lag cases by about two weeks. It is now two weeks since cases started going up again. Guess what we're about to see? That's right. Deaths going up again. Expect a slightly slower climb at first, since it's young people that got it now and are responsible for cases climbing, but they will soon spread it to the elderly and predisposed so deaths will start climbing.
Yes you think I'm a frightened doomer. I'm not, I think the risks to anyone in my age are minimal, I'm just stating facts.

I know you're baiting, but you will be the victim of my latest screen grab and rant, driving home the point about s-shapes and logistic curves.
See what happened last time we thought covid was over, when it leveled out around 100k cases and around 3k deaths. The s-shape turned into a much bigger s-shape, and now people think it's leveling out at 10 million cases and 500k dead. Guess what, there's about to be another s-shape 100x jump up to 1 billion cases and 50 million dead.
Will it do another s-shape jump after that? Depends on if we will have learned our lesson or if we insist covid is a nothingburger. It would at least be the last s-shape since after that it would have burned through the whole population of the planet.
I'm not saying we need lockdowns. Everybody wearing masks and respecting social distancing would be enough, But as long as there are plenty of idiots who can't give up the tiniest bit of personal freedom, it's going to be s-shape after s-shape until the whole population is burned through (at least in this country). The people who will ruin the economy, the rally and everything are not the people wearing masks but the fucking idiots who refuse to.

Yeah, the commie chinks stole all our masks, bought them right from under our noses, emptied all the shelves and sent them to china. "To their relatives in Wuhan", as the papers wrote at the time and thought it endearing. That's why they even advised against masks in the beginning. Fauci tried to put a /positive/ spin on it by saying they lied about masks not being effective because needed to preserve masks for the doctors. The truth was that hospitals have different supply chains that retail and they were not even allowed to use the retail masks (masks donated by regular folks who had stocks up were burned). The real reason they lied and said masks didn't help was even uglier. It was that the USA, the richest and most powerful nation on the planet, had no masks. China had yanked our masks from us and we had no capacity to produce more masks quickly.
So stop spreading your commie propaganda that Americans don't need masks, or why don't we send the ones we have managed to produce since then to China as well, eh Chang?

I honestly think masks get the support they do on 4chan because of brain dead weebs who want to be just like the super cool asians who have worn masks for a long while now. Asians do it so it must be cool. Fuck that 3rd world shit. Optional? Sure why not. Mandating them? Nope governors ought to be hung over it.

>> No.19985558

> masks are 0% effective
They really aren't, coupled with good testing they can be effective enough to replace lockdowns, as in South Korea, which have battled covid as effectively as any country with a lockdown. But that requires a high enough use and a population that respect each other instead of saying grannies don't deserve to live. I fucking hope your granny burns your inheritance on her covid hospital bill, and survives and lives a happy ever after on her remaining money, not leaving you a red nickel.

Don't be daft, if anything that's what you're approach will end up with. I'm recommending we simply wear masks and don't make a joke of social distancing instead, and then granny can live and go out and be happy.

I know, and worst of all the care homes turn into death camps when they inevitably get hit by covid. They die slowly (or think they are, in the best cases) without their loved ones even being able to visit and say goodbye. It's the worst fucking shit imaginable, dying from not being able to breathe and not even a nurse there who dares to hold your hand.
And all this because people can't even be fucking arsed to wear a simple fucking mask, just because THEY are young and healthy, who cares about the above. If that's the American spirit I'm fucking ashamed to be American.
But I'm not, and I know that it isn't. People aren't fucking assholes like that, only a few true morons, not surprisingly a large portion of whom collect on an anonymous image board, and you will soon discover how much of a social pariah you are seen as by regular folks. It's hyper comercialised garbage emergant from no heritage or culture and is just a rehashing of western pop tropes, the performers are contracted for life from a young age and are basically slaves to the execs of the labels they represent. They exist to promote the consumption of luxury and designer goods and line the pockets of their masters. Anyone who considers any trash that comes out of the KPOP cabal as art is a complete degenerate mind slave willingly handing over their brain to a preversion of western consumerism that has no shame for its blatancy.

Also its musically simplistic and lazy, the kind of trash that if sung in english would be what middle aged mums and pre pubescent teens listened to.

If you reopen into unchanged states you dont accomplish anything with shutdown.

italy during shutdown had peaking deaths for like 4 weeks! After shutdown.

Its not like shutdown changes a thing. So states that did full mitigation measures they can sustain for 2 years are in a better boat.

Shutdown is a huge negative to society so the reward must be massive. Since it is unsustainable in many ways.

Whereas promotion sustainable measures makes actual sense.

If you want to bring up non shutdown examples use korea taiwan japan etc

The idea of a shutdown is just retarded for mitigation. No actual pre covid pandemic paper or plan is pro shutdown.

The key mechanic is the leverage that makes you close almost every transaction at a loss. You can't just wait a few days and hold CFDs like stocks because they will liquidate your account. Also there's swaps and spreads so you really need to know what you're doing to earn money from it.

So the actual ideal strategy is minimizing transmission via sustainable 2+ year methods. Aka passive approaches that can be sustained by whole society

Tracking and trace does not work in any disease with asymptomatic spread unless you are at millions of tests per day.

So basically effective.measures are linked to considerate collective societies aka some of europe and japan etc. Def not usa

The other measures would involve shit like humidifiers and temperature of indoor spaces to minimize spread too but that is not done

General health is important too again not a thing usa is any good at.

the passive measures are great in japan
In usa not so much and most of it dates back 35+ years on general health attitudes.

Listen dammit, we won't lock down because the state government won't afford it. It doesn't matter how bad it gets or how ok it is. It's simply not an option because "fuck you serf trash, work the fields."

Only a few groups stand out for choreo. The music tends to be more interesting and diverse, but you need to get away from the more generic stuff.

China is sadly probably going more towards nkorea model each day. The people in power are crystalizing society and making it more of a prison.

But usa is doing the same in many ways due to misguided utopian ideas.

a lot of people dont know this but if anyone deems you mentally ill they can lock you in a mental hospital without committing any crime and force drugs into you

it happens to millions of people every year in florida it was called getting baker acted

each state has their own version of involuntarily imprisoning one of their own countrymen

Why be mad against nonconformists. The state elite told people masks dont work themselves. a simple logical exercise on shit elites have pushed in usa, iraq etc should explain to you the distrust.

Its less the public is stupid as much as being trained by example over and over that they are lied to over and over

I'm still long on my value plays. I'll buy even more if the market correction drags them downwards. But I'm closing out my growth/momentum plays, and shorting stocks with reverse momentum. The rest stays in cash or a T-bill ETF.

Definitely not
They're CFD contracts, so it's essentially 'betting against eachother' on what the open will be, just like futures but with no expiration (among other smaller differences).
It's pretty much only available for europoors tho

Like how can you blame a random avg american for being distrustful?

You dont have to go back a year to find massive lying done and admitted to on masks already.

I think masks help a little but jesus fuck. How do you think an avg person is supposed to trust the gov or elites on this shit when they admittedly lie constantly about everything!

So am I, I'm not even 100% certain yet if I should put my money into bonds. I can see several situations where they also shit the bed. Commodities aren't attractive either. So the only options I can see right now are cash, or T-bill ETFs where a 1% gain or loss is an exciting year.

Here's a hot tip for you: buy good tools. SK, Proto, Wright, Williams (make sure it's USA made), vintage Craftsman, etc. Get ratchets, sockets, crescent wrenches, etc. If the investment doesn't pan out, you still have tools.
