SENT IOS app has been submitted and is being reviewed (reviews take up to 48hrs)
after review is completed testflight period will start leading to the public release

>SENT dVPN has currently 60k weekly users on android and desktop, ios release should give quite a bump

IOS ui will be ported to the android app as its clearly a total improvement and adds functionality, after the initial ios release a subsequent release with wireguard integration will follow to further consolidate node pools

what is wireguard ?

wireguard is an open source communication protocol alternative to openvpn which brings substantial improvements and easier auditability.
it should be a total improvement on both privacy and latency and speed.
ios currently doesn't support openvpn so sentinel opted for ikev2 at first and wireguard later.
also the new v3 desktop client will have wireguard implementation, sent will let decide the market which protocol is better, naturally when monetization will be enabled on main net we will see if people prefer openvpn or wireguard

WireGuard is a free and open-source software application and communication protocol that implements virtual private network techniques to create secure point-to-point connections in routed or bridged configurations

It seems that the moon bros want exchanges so the price moons. Yet the team don't care as they are going to be getting fiat in exchange for the services. Seems a bit chicken and egg here. What does this token actually do? Don't say muh chain governence as that's a bullshit answer.

Is the team reliant on individual users hosting nodes? The nodes get paid in Sent? Then the team sells "blockchain services" to either other businesses or regular customers?

Not trying to fud on shitcoins, just trying to find value in potential gems. Maybe 4chins isn't the best place.

>It seems that the moon bros want exchanges so the price moons. Yet the team don't care as they are going to be getting fiat in exchange for the services. Seems a bit chicken and egg here.
the team has a big part of SENT tokens, so interest are aligned.
>Is the team reliant on individual users hosting nodes? The nodes get paid in Sent?
sent team won't host the nodes themself, community and data centers will ,and in exchange they will get payed in SENT or whichever coin cosmos cross chain protocol supports.
>What does this token actually do?
the token will be used to secure sent own tendermint based blockchain in exchange for inflation, so people will be able to stake and get interest in exchange it will work the same as tezos cosmos or any other DPOS chain.
>Then the team sells "blockchain services" to either other businesses or regular customers?
sentinel has also been working on a enterprise solution where any corporation government or legacy vpn providers will be able to launch their own private net and offer vpn to their employees or customers

chain governance isn't a bullshit answer stupid. but think of it another way. Say VISA decentralized all their transaction validations, but told people they need to by VISA stock for that privilege.

People would sell their grandmother to have that chance.

If you want a real life example where this is working is Terra Luna. They are ranked 3rd in on-chain transactions behind ETH and BTC. If you want to get a share of the transactions you need to run a validator. You need LUNA to stake. Its a right-to-work on their network.

Ohh and Terra is a Cosmos chain so the end user doesn't even touch the crypto-side of things. They just use the app to buy shit and receive rewards. The merchant gets to settle their transactions in seconds not days. The network earns 1% fee and is generating a 10% ROI on staking.

Same concept will work on SENT. You are going to see the biggest validators in the crypto space with millions of AUM staking on SENT.

Also fuck you for making me spoonfeed you.

people shit on governance cause they see the horrible way its handled by eth defi projects, lol COMP created their governance token then uses discord polls instead of the token, so people naturally think governance is useless, bad its only bad practices from pnd silicon valley scams.
cosmos on the other hand puts native cyrpto governance in every chain and its only natural for sentinel dao to formalize their powers, governance won't be only about protocol upgrades but also about fees taxation integration and subsidies, check out decret politeia voting proposals , they even used their treasury to fund a MM or advertising campaign

they will probably also get grants from cosmos for research and implementation of usefull modules like they did in the past with game of stakes and game of zones

Sentinel's Contribution to the Cosmos SDK

1. Fixed an issue the In IBC prototype where there were problems with incorrect sequences in the process of relaying transactions between chains. https://github.com/cosmos/cosmos-sdk/pull/2896

2. Fixed an issue relating to queries where the data doesn't have proofs https://github.com/cosmos/cosmos-sdk/pull/3236

3. Fixed an issue which led to a block delay in querying the account, implemented a new query method to resolve the delay. . https://github.com/cosmos/cosmos-sdk/pull/3767

4. Reported the wrong implementation of Private key and Public key interfaces and proposed the best method to implement. For the full description check https://github.com/tendermint/tendermint/issues/373

5. Requested and suggested a way to develop a solution to get the information (including time remaining) related to blocks that had yet to be synced. For the full description https://github.com/tendermint/tendermint/issues/3365

Tendermint based modules developed for Sentinel's Tendermint dVPN app

6. For Sentinel, creation and implementation of a deposit module, custom built to maintain status pertaining to locking of tokens. https://github.com/sentinel-official/hub/tree/development/x/deposit

7. For Sentinel implemented a mechanism for locking and releasing tokens based on the application requirements, wherein this case the user had to lock tokens in order to initiate a DVPN subscription https://github.com/sentinel-official/hub/blob/development/x/vpn/handler.go#L158
