At what percentage LOSS is it a good idea to close out a buy call/put that expires in 4 to 7 months?

After what happened on stocks the last 2 days some of my LONG TERM options dumped noticeably in value. For only a fall of $2 on a $25+ stock it seems like a huge reaction especially since I've only had it for like a week and a half. They are now at a 30% to 40% loss. I prefer not going over a 30% loss on long term options and at the same tine since theyre long term they could recover that amount.
