19906680 No.19906680 [Reply] [Original]

>The SENT iOS application has been submitted for review. Community members will soon be able to test the application on TestFlight prior to the public release.

Sentinel dVPN cross platform applications will be white-labelled and repackaged by other organizations and offered to retail users all over the world through fiat based payment gateways

Currently the application will provide access to community hosted servers that are supporting the IKEV2 protocol so the node list on the iOS application will not be the same as the current OpenVPN node list. Future integration will include WireGuard which will also be supported on other platforms, allowing for further consolidation of nodes.

The iOS application will be fully open-sourced allowing for individuals and organziations alike to customize and build on it the way that the Android client is currently being built on. The iOS application will further expand the reach of the Sentinel dVPN application.

it will probably , work the same way as cosmos incentivized testnet did.
game of zones was a very successful initiative and sentinel team got noticed by many top cosmos validators (that will probably participate in sent test net too) thanks to their stellar performance that resulted in them winning the competition

if they do it similarly to cosmos only people that set up validators will be able to win, but prizes will be substantial for example sent won 25k worth of ATOMs , sent team could however decide to make end users participate too with smaller sent prizes

there is pretty much a max exodus from ethereum , the only thing left is defi tokens like compound which is pretty much a ponzi, that seems like desperation pump to me, reality will hit eth hard when users understand that eth 2.0 phase 0 doesn't improve anything but just postpones actual improvements.
eth doesn't have the tools to allow developers to make their dapp userfriendly, having to learn how to use gas limit and gas price, and being forced to hold multiple tokens to use something like orchid dvpn is creating enormous entry barriers that normies will have no incentive to cross them

SENT token will be used to:
-secure sent own tendermint blockchain when main net is launched
-govern protocol upgrades
-payment token
-various secondary use cases
-sent holders will get part of the fees from chain use

SENT should be considered the same as other staking token like tezos and cosmos without it the whole sent stack wouldn't work, cause sent would need to launch on a third party chain that doesn't allow to receive multiple tokens for payments or doesn't to embed the dvpn logic into the chain itself

plz help a tard. if I were to host a sent dvpn do I earn sent?
so what happens if I host dvpn and someone uses that connection to do bad shit? cp, etc? why would I risk it?

>> No.19909332

>>19908962
on main net launch, hosting sent nodes will make you earn SENT (and other coins if you decide to accept them) right now nodes are free to use

sent will have multiple types of nodes:
-normal exit nodes tought for experienced users , data centers and people that already host tor exit nodes, these will be the most dangerous and will offer the biggest reward
-relay nodes, these will be hosted by normal consumers and will never come in contact with unencrypted data and will not be dangerous at all
-tor exit nodes these are the most advanced and will allow to funnel data directly into the tor network, these types of nodes are tought for people that host tor nodes already so that they will be able to gain money for their service (the lack of incentivization is a great flaw of tor)

there will also be other ways to earn SENT, anybody will be able to stake with a delegator when main net is launched and earn interest it will work similiarly to tezos and cosmos, the interest should be higher tho cause sent has a smaller mcap
if you have any more questions please ask

Thank you for you concise answers.

Can you briefly explain why one would choose Sent vs Cosmos? What are pros/cons of each?

>> No.19909514

>>19908406
Depends on how many validators are running. I would say 1 million SENT is a comfy stack.

>> No.19909647

>>19909484
i personally have both cosmos and sent so i would own both with different weighting 70% cosmos 30% sent
cosmos is the tendermint flagship
sent is a project leveraging the amazing SDK built by cosmos to bring their vision to market.
sent has a way lower mcap then cosmos so risk reward is way more asymmetric.
however tendemrint based coins should all benefit and pump together when the market will notice i would also take a look at all other tendermint based projects.
but sent remains my favourite cause it was one of the first project to notice cosmos and switch to it and cause of the huge userbase

Sentinel's Contribution to the Cosmos SDK

1. Fixed an issue the In IBC prototype where there were problems with incorrect sequences in the process of relaying transactions between chains. https://github.com/cosmos/cosmos-sdk/pull/2896

2. Fixed an issue relating to queries where the data doesn't have proofs https://github.com/cosmos/cosmos-sdk/pull/3236

3. Fixed an issue which led to a block delay in querying the account, implemented a new query method to resolve the delay. . https://github.com/cosmos/cosmos-sdk/pull/3767

4. Reported the wrong implementation of Private key and Public key interfaces and proposed the best method to implement. For the full description check https://github.com/tendermint/tendermint/issues/373

5. Requested and suggested a way to develop a solution to get the information (including time remaining) related to blocks that had yet to be synced. For the full description https://github.com/tendermint/tendermint/issues/3365

Tendermint based modules developed for Sentinel's Tendermint dVPN app

6. For Sentinel, creation and implementation of a deposit module, custom built to maintain status pertaining to locking of tokens. https://github.com/sentinel-official/hub/tree/development/x/deposit

7. For Sentinel implemented a mechanism for locking and releasing tokens based on the application requirements, wherein this case the user had to lock tokens in order to initiate a DVPN subscription https://github.com/sentinel-official/hub/blob/development/x/vpn/handler.go#L158
