Specifically the GTA.

How the FUCK can I survive here? I have a decent job that pays $69k a year and I feel like I’m fucking underwater at the end of month.

Head north to Sudbury or North Bay for affordable living. Or move to New Brunswick where it’s dirt cheap. Gotta get far away from the curry stink to have a better life

Not the best selection but, if your in trades or can do something remote it would work out. Low cost of living and dont gotta deal with living in GTA slums any more

I live in a co-op downtown Toronto and pay less than 800 for a one bedroom, that’s the only way I could afford to live here

>Get a gym membership so you can shower/use the bathroom/shave, etc.
>Use soup kitchens/food banks for free food
>Do this for about 5 years, save up as much of your wages as you can
>Move to St John, New Brunswick and buy a livable house outright, should still have a decent chunk of money leftover

Not even being ironic, it's the only viable strategy I can think of to actually buy property in this country without being enslaved for the next 50 years. Boomers looted the entire country and fucked up so hard that their descendants have to resort to bullshit like this.

Redpill me on soup kitchens. Didn't know these things existed in 2020. I always thought it would be nice to go somewhere for a free meal.

Can't speak for literally every single one out there but they generally serve lunch/dinner at set times. You can usually just walk in, wait in line and they hand you a meal on a plate, you sit down and eat. I think as of right now they just hand out prepackaged meals in takeout containers, because of chink sniffles. Food banks give you lots of canned and prepackaged stuff too.

>Didn't know these things existed in 2020.

There's more of them than ever bro, there's so many fucking poor people now especially in shithole urban hellscapes like the GTA.

rent and food
its all about rent and food
you need to find consistent ways to get both more cheaply

troll craigslist for someone disabled looking for a roommate if you can tolerate people, if not and you plan on staying in the area, start looking at non-standard properties you could convert into a decent 1-br and consider putting together a proposal for a loan to purchase one

food is easy, just join a couple clubs or whatever that serve dinner, or start attending a church. pester your boss about catered lunch during a work crunch.

Ive done two business trips to toronto

Hotel breakfast was full of rich chinese who flew in to buy property that day or whatever lol. The city made a lot of sense for me, an american visitor, but i wonder about canadians. How do toronto canadians afford stuff? I assume all the not rich ones are in debt

Also lmfao at how pacified all the canadians are. I feel like they are all inwardly resentful.

Only happy people in client sites seemed to be director level+. IT was super grim at lots of places and full of indians who would silently stare at u.

Also lots of empty cubes (bc layoffs.. esp of citizen employees) but obviously, thats why you hired me.
