Short term VIX futures barely re-entered contango (decay)

Long term VIX futures are still significantly in backwardation (appreciation)

Conclusion:
Long term VIX futures have never been this much in backwardation.

Short term VIX futures are tetering back and forth between backwardation and contango signalling either a massive pump or massive dump.

There's no stipulation about the same stock when it comes to day trading. If you buy something on the same day and sell it on the same day, it's a day trade. So if you bought a stock in the morning and then sold it that same morning, that would be a day trade. But if I was to buy the same stock later in the day and hold it until the next day, that would not be considered a day trade. Unless of course, I sold it the same day as when I bought it. Then I would have two day trades in one day for the same stock. All that matters for a day trade is that the stock entered your hands and left your hands on the same day. There is tax things that have to do with purchasing the same stock though. Make sure you broker is lenient though about using those three day trades under 25k.

i put in $2K into TSM because my buddy convinced me well that semiconductors are the future. His portfolio is ~$100k and it's literally compromised entirely of AMD and TSMC (50:50).

The only thing I don't understand is how he is so bearish on everything else but he is holding AMD strong with a 3 year outlook. I haven't done my DD but I'd have assumed AMD was already priced in for profits like 5 years ahead. That's why I only took his advice on the TSMC portion.

You people seem to think everyone invests the same way you do. Tell me, do you truly, truly believe that expected earnings aren't already priced in? Do you truly believe that jew stock brokers who do this for a fucking living haven't already hedged bets based on the fact that earnings will be down? Ffs, you people are so daft it's actually insane. Will there be dips? Yes, but nothing compared to March where literally 90% of the world went into lockdown. How do you people manage to function in society with 0 common sense? NPC tier brain function. There's a reason your dumb ass is always 2 steps behind the market.

If you owned the SOXL you sold in the morning before the market open, meaning you owned it the previous day, then no, that trade is not a day trade.. But if you were to buy more SOXL that day and then sell it that same day then that would be considered a day trade. Read up so you can avoid being marked a PDT.

I'm comparing results from my own dataset of daily close prices (obtained through alpaca), etfreplay, and portfolioanalyzer. I find that none of the 3 seem to agree. My returns sometimes match etfreplay but not pv, or vice versa. When the returns match, usually the drawdown matches with the other datasource. For example, I see a max drawdown on soxl of ~66% (same as pv), but my max drawdown for aapl is >38%, which matches etfreplay. However, my returns estimate match soxl on etfreplay better than the converse, and similar for aapl. The date rate is 2015-01-31 to 2020-05-31 in all cases.

>White House trade adviser Peter Navarro said on Monday the trade deal with China is “over,” and he linked the breakdown in part to Washington’s anger over Beijing’s not sounding the alarm earlier about the coronavirus outbreak.
>“It’s over,” Navarro told Fox News in an interview when asked about the trade agreement. He said the “turning point” came when the United States learned about the spreading coronavirus only after a Chinese delegation had left Washington following the signing of the Phase 1 deal on Jan. 15.

If you had 12 million to invest in options trading...what % negative would you be? Because i know there is at least 1 bank's subsidiary that invested that much between 2017 and 2018 and was almost -10% by 2019 (and far worse post-covid, because they dissolved the subsidiary)

I want to know, why do they suck so bad, and why are you all allegedly so good?
