I have spent 18k in the last month on precious metals in order to buy myself into a position I hadn't had before in an effort to diversify away from cash and cardboard collectibles. I have convinced my mother to buy silver and ny father to buy gold. I have told some of my best friends about the need to buy silver and the reasoning for doing so, but it's up to them if they believe me or not.

relax, premiums are already so high above spot that a $5 or $15 spot price increase won't really change premiums by much. in fact, even when spot tanked in march, it didn't have a major effect on premiums. the best time to buy PMs, is whenever you can afford to. i'm dead serious. waiting for dips is a waste of time, especially now. the cat's out of the bag. >How much do you guys spend a month?
Depends on income, spot price + premiums, specials/sales, current events etc... highly individual circumstances dependent
>What percentage of your investments should be PM's?
Again, personal choice. Standard normie numbers are usually 5%-10%. Around here it's something like 35%-100% depending on how deep down the rabbit hole you've gone.
>Do you let family or friends know you stack?
Still definitely a personal choice. Some don't let anyone know, for a variety of reasons including:
- OP-SEC. If noone knows, they can't steal/report/tax/confiscate etc.
- Fear of ruining relationships. If it goes badly for any one of a number of possible reasons, they might blame you, rightly or wrongly. Many a family/friend/significant other relationship has been destroyed by $$$ issues.
- It's all so tiresome. After a while of trying to convince people of a need for action, and getting a reaction that ranges from the glazed-eye can't-understand or don't-want-to-think-about-it look, to the "you think about things too much anon, maybe you should just relax"... sometimes it's easier to just do you and let them keep on keepin' on.
- Cold hard self interest. Less people know about it now, the more it's possible to accumulate affordably now.
- Paranioa. You hoard PMs and research government/bank/illuminati shenanigans? Welcome to the watchlist, anon.

I've mentioned PMs and financial shenanigans by TPTB to a few family and friends who are receptive. I don't discuss my stacking specifically in detail with anyone.

When you say nice stack, what are we talking?
- silver ozs, gold ozs, how many?
- coins/bars ratio?
- what country/region?
- what kind of other prep have you done already, eg food/water/water purification, guns/ammo, seeds/growing methods and materials, bug out bag(s), 1st aid and other useful items, barter items... will you be bugging out to another location or bugging in and sheltering in place? Or do you not think that there is even a small chance that things will get to that point and therefor aren't going to prep for anything past a 1 or 2 week hiccup?

It's a highly individual-circumstances-dependant decision, but this info will help with advice.

My guess is he either got confused converting from weight to silver weight, or from usd to cad, but he also could not have cared since he bought all of it when it was like 5$ an OZ.

I am also very charming and nice so maybe he just wanted to cut me a deal.

Doubt its fake, weight, diameter, thickness ect are all spot on for the Canadian half dollars.

A couple early 1900's and late 1800's ones I have to double check still but its all so worn that if it was plated it would have worn to the inside metal.

Any anons know what this coin is worth? seeing it on ebay for 25$

I'm actually planning on buying some of their American Reserve rounds, which while still affordable are going to be $.50-$1.00 more than the cyber rounds.
I just wouldn't want to end up with queen coins or the ugliest of owls just to save 20 cents per round. Price per ounce is important, but I don't want to hate the sight of my stack either.

If you dissolve your silver into nitric acid it will make silver nitrate. The nitrate can be collected, and you can use certain substances called "reductants" and others called "surfactants" to make the colloidal silver. The reductant makes Ag(+1) in silver nitrate back into Ag(0), metallic silver, while the surfactant is what surrounds the small amounts of the metals being made into tiny particles called colloids or nanoparticles. Google how to make silver nanoparticles. I'm not sure which reductants are the most easily purchased by the general public and which are cheapest.

metal detectors mostly work off a "coil" that sends a signal down into the soil and registers the differences of the return signal for anomalies. An anomaly is registered by a change in sound or change in a dial. All of them are basically the same, the more expensive you go though the better the search features will be. Detecting is a pain in the butt to learn, it takes hundreds of hours to learn your machines different tones when interacting with different metals, hot rocks, bedrock etc.
All detectors have the same issues. The search coil is only super accurate down to 3 inches from the coil, any deeper and the target can drift from the center of the coil and requires more work to find. Most detectors are useless in heavily mineralized areas, they cant deal with the various readings. Also they cant or should not be used in lightning storms, lighting sends out intense EMF interference that can destroy a detector.

Ah, I think I see. So if you scatter some tin foil around your site a few inches down, it'll confuse the shit out of any metal detector out there and make them unable to find your stash.

>> No.19873600

pretty much, its a very good way to make a metal detector shit its self. another great way is to just shoot bird shot or deer shot into an area randomly. You will get the same effect, but foil works better. I used to do it a lot on my fraser river claims because one shit head kid wouldnt stop sniping my ground without permission with his dads metal detector. Stopped him in his tracks, he couldnt get any clear signals after that.

I think we will have a final and violent run up in nearly all markets within the next two months before a massive leg down. PMs will be hit hard as with everything else. Oil likely back to $10 gold closer too $1k the S&P easily down 50%. During this time the fed will have nearly unlimited power to try and keep markets afloat till the bottom is found. Think the feds balance sheet increasing by 3x minimum. This will cause inflation but people are jumping the gun a bit. Inflation will take years to set in. I think for most of the 2020s we will have time to accumulate PMs. 2020s will be all about commodities and countries getting their energy and manufacturing as close to home as possible.

Just as last time, only ETFs will tank, but the premiums for physical will rise almost instantly. But this time around it will be way worse, because refiners and mints are alrdy sold off/preorders maxed out up to november. while LCS keep selling on a just-in-time basis. The out of stocks are arlrdy coming back, and i'm still waiting for my bars' orders from march personally.

Reality is gold and silver will be impossible to find next time, and the greedy sellers selling stuff they don't own yet will be forced to cancel orders en masse.
I dont hold my breath for a good dip this time around, tho i really wish for it, imho it will trigger the real moon mission for silver.
Not only that, but once the stock market crash again, norime/institutional money have literally nowhere to go but metals, and i alrdy see PMs getting more and more visibility on a daily.

Imagine what an army of afraid normies cashing out their robinhood account for PMs + hedge funds with their back against the wall will do to the price of shiny rocks. We could see a x50 for silver happening in no time.

So you don't have an answer? You can't give me a reason why silver should diminish the ratio with gold? Then you're lost. Silver is a fucking meme. Gold is the future, as it has been the past. Silver is only there for people who can't afford gold..it's that simple, and it's so pathetic that no one can admit

JP morgan and Buffet buying up silver? You know why they're doing it? BECAUSE THEY'RE BUYING MILLIONS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF IT! Transferring that into gold at an opportune moment will make them millions. Having 10k (which is realistically what many can afford) will never allow you the power or benefits you're tricking yourselves into believing you'll have when (for some unknown reason) the US dollar miraculously disappears and China and Russia start a gold standard (which also miraculously the EU and the US allow).

Don't you see that it's all bullshit and that the only people who profit from this are the ones selling it to you and storing it for you?

>>19877784
I just wanted to find out what reason there was that silver would moon. So far I've seen no evidence, and I've been lurking for a while now. No one can predict it, I accept that. But there is NO reason that it would change the current ratio, or at least, no one has given me factual data that could support it. Silver mooning is becoming 'wishful thinking', and while I'd like to think otherwise, there's nothing to tell me why. I want to know why.

>>19877790
Well, sorry Anon. I'm not the one asking a thousand times a day. I agree the situation economically is extraordinarily complex, and the prices of gold and silver are reliant on a number of interrelated factors that we can't predict. The problem I have is that there's nothing to suggest that the USD will collapse, that silver will ever be regarded higher than gold, that we can accurately assess how much silver is being mined at the moment, etc. If there's no certainty that silver will moon, then there's a problem here.

You want answer? Fine, then screencap this :
- the gold:silver mining ratio is 1:8, while currently priced at 1:100
- yet silver have way more mining spots worldwide, since for 70%+ it's a byproduct of copper/zinc/others metals mining
- silver is a vital component in : military, electronics, medicine, green energy, batteries, communications,..
- it's on the EU critical ressources list of 14 strategic elements with extremely limited availibility but vital for industrial uses
- it's estimated you have 5 times more availible gold in investment form than silver, making it potentially way rarer
- 70% of the yearly produced silver is destroyed, because of printed circuit boards (cellphones, laptop, sattelites, radars,..) while 98% of the gold is recycled
- silver is the most manipulated asset on the markets, with 175 paper oz sold traded on the comex for each 1 oz existing
- you have to mine 12.5 tonnes of dirt to find 1 gram of silver
- in 2005, you had to process 9.4 millions tonnes of ore to extract 123M oz out of it, in 2019 it was 23.2M tonnes to extract the same amount, showing how scarce silver is getting worldwide
- from 2014 to 2019, the silver production decreased by 100M oz
- it's the most reflective metal and the most electricity conductive one
- Production is concentrated in few countries : Mexico, Peru, China, Poland. China alrdy refuse to export their silver (their gold too)-
- silver have unique properties as it is used as an anti bacterial/fungal/algae, and is vital for water purification and filtration systems
- silver is one of the few metals you can use for nano technologies and as superconductor
- samsung recently announced they'll will use silver in their next generation SSL batteries, and tesla/ford/hyundai/toyota alrdy signed huge contracts for it
- all over the world you have countries forcing new homes to be equipped with solar panels, which require silver to function (about 2/3rd of an oz per panel)
from top of my head, happy?

At the end of the day it comes down to supply and rarity, gold and silver have historically had value due to limited supply, work taken to dig up, and then some cultural backing as well. Assuming these 3 factors, once silvers physical price decouples from the suppressed 'paper' spot price (Already seeing this, you can't buy silver for close to spot right now), the price of silver will naturally move back closer to 10:1 as is its above ground ratio. The only argument for this large discrepancy to remain is there being no economic or societal turmoil causing the physical and paper prices to decouple, which I hope you realise isn't likely. Even with corona you saw the PHYSICAL ratio go from 110:1 to 80:1 within a month

I appreciate the effort Anon, it's a lot to compile. But it still doesn't explain why the ratio will lower.

There are Anons here who show their hopes that the current ratio of >100:1 to gold will drop and then they can convert their silver to gold at a more favorable rate. What evidence is there that this will happen? The historical lower ratio doesn't at all inform us that it will ever return to this ratio.

The desirability and properties of silver as you catalogued is well known and not in denial, but once again we reach a point of uncertainty because the actual amount of silver mined annually is unknown due to the factors that it's extracted along with other precious metals, it's hoarded culturally off the books (like in India) and therefore the predictions about how much is desired and how much is available is not confirmed.

There's a lot of silver, there are lots of silver mines (though apparently they're not being mined because it's not economically feasible to do so).

Here's what would make me happy:

1) Give me direct cause as to why the silver to gold ratio will drop to historical lows.

2) Give me direct evidence as to the stupidity of everyone except JP Morgan and Buffet in terms of buying up and storing silver as opposed to gold. It is astonishing and unbelievable that only JPM, B, and /biz/ are cognoscent of this worldwide conspiracy and no one else is. Are the Rothchilds in on it too? The Clintons? You'd expect they would be, as well as Deutche Bank and others corrupt organizations.

I agree historically; but the problem is that the entire world is economically different than it was historically, and the incentives to keep it fiat as opposed to PM backed are enormous and insurmountable (and thus it'll STAY fiat). Further, you make the jump like everyone else is:

>once silver physical price decouples...the price of silver will naturally move back closer to 10:1

Oh, and i forgot the most important one :
- it's the most underpriced asset in the fucking world. How many commodities do you know are cheaper now than what they used to be in the 80's? Even just accounting for a yearly 5-6% inflation rate it should currently be waaay north of $100. Only price suppression by the banksters allow it to stay cheap, which make silver the opportunity of a lifetime. Banks involved in the comex have to waste literally trillions of USD just to keep pressuring down silver's price. And you, as a little nobody, can profit from this war waged against precious metals, you simply have to stack physical while the manipulation is still -barely- holding.

Silver will not decouple from fiat because that's how people buy it. Further, again there is a problem in terms of cause and effect. What precisely causes silver to 'naturally' move back to 10:1? Why wouldn't it stay precisely where it is, or even go further down the shitter (i.e. 150:1)? The above-ground ratio only works if the people who set the price know how much is being mined and used, and this is not known for sure for the reasons I stated above (i.e. it's not the only metal that comes out of the mining operations it isn't known how much is preserved in familial hordes and trading). The physical changed during Corona and it absolutely went down in March....then it came up again after when people went back to their more 'normal' investment lives. Which is the point: investors and billionaires make their money with investments, not PMs, so in a period of uncertainty the demand for PMs will increase (hence the ratio change) but then it'll decrease once the world looks like it's going back to normal (which it is now and thus the economic power goes back to investments out of PMs).

What am I missing?

>>19878219
It's cheaper because we don't need it as much as we used to and it's available. Remember, before the 80's silver was still used in coin circulation, and moving away from the gold standard would significantly affect how much silver was needed. Then photography changed as well, and went digital, so silver wasn't needed for film either. That's actually a HUGE decrease in the need for it.

>and you, as a little nobody, can profit from this
No, I can't. No one profits unless they are the ones owning the banks and being paid the interest they charge from others. Don't you get it? Everytime you buy PMs you pay a premium, everytime you sell you sell for less you paid for, every time you store PMs you pay monthly or annual fees, etc. You can't win.

>uncertainty because the actual amount of silver mined annually is unknown
that's totally wrong tho, 950M oz for 2019.

>What evidence is there that this will happen?
basic maths, at the current extraction rate, silver will be totally gone in like 2 decades. If it's come down to rarity, then silver will have to moon. It's currently at 1:100 just because there is way more paper silver traded comparatively to paper gold.

>and how much is available is not confirmed
It is, silver is mostly a metal you only find at the surface or close to it. All big silver spots are alrdy knowns and none will magically appear.

>hough apparently they're not being mined because it's not economically feasible to do so
and it never occured to you to try to understand WHY ? classic offer and demand doesnt exist with silver, it's pure manipulation by the markets. Reality is mining 1oz of silver cost $15(+) in average, so every time the spot fixing went below this, mines were losing money.

>Are the Rothchilds in on it too? The Clintons? You'd expect they would be, as well as Deutche Bank and others corrupt organizations.
I know for sure Rothschild and DB are, idk for Clintons. And normies aren't aware because they are simply retarded and prefer to spend their money on retarded shit. Good for them, stay away from my shiny rocks.

>and the incentives to keep it fiat as opposed to PM backed are enormous and insurmountable
lol no, every single fiat in history of mankind crashed and was eventually replaced with sound money once inflation kicks in, then the cycle repeated, over and over. Study history of money.
Also you'll see how fiat become worthless the day war kicks in : only payments in silver and gold are accepted between governments then, it's true since forever.

And it was way cheaper... I said 80's, not 60's, so no excuses, silver coins were alrdy out of production since a long while. Also they stopped using it in coins for a reason, right? It was getting too rare, and you couldn't inflate the monetary supply as needed by the gubment using a precious metal with limited supply, that's it.

Rick Rule disagrees with you regarding the known amount of silver mined. Check any of his recent interviews, including :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55z7J1V4BTU

>silver will be gone in 2 decades
The said the same about oil. Little did they know that not only do we keep finding deposits, but our use for oil is changing. The same will happen with silver.

>it's pure manipulation by the markets
I can accept that as a possibility, but it might be necessary to keep silver mines operating. There is no demand for silver except through industry, and even then it's changing. The demand by individuals is either by apocalypse savers or the occasional gift coin, and the rumours about JPM haven't been substantiated yet (though their price manipulation has definitely been proven beyond doubt).

>normies aren't aware
Obviously; most normies don't have savings (and that's a very sad statistical fact that they're all living paycheck to paycheck...)

Regarding the history of money; I have studied it a little bit, but none of it takes into account that we're in the first period of human history where all currencies are fiat. We've never had this before, so there is no way of predicting what will happen based on historical precedent. Fiat is worthless, but that's how the people in power want it to be, and they're not going to let it collapse and they certainly won't let it be replaced by something they have less control over. That's stupid strategically for them.

>>19878458
They stopped it to go on the oil standard and to use fiat currency as a means to better control populations, finance wars, and keep people from starving in 'democratic' nations. C'mon, be real.

Consider this: you're positing that
1) silver is rare
2) it's expensive to mine and extract

Why would any company that relies on this material not be currently looking for a way to circumvent this? Bullshit.

The spot price can't go lower than we've seen the last few years, when silver hit recent lows mines were shutting down due to lack of profit, big business and government (who are the ones suppressing the price) need to keep mines open due to silver being important in many areas tech and infrastructure as >>19878126 outlined. This is speaking short term
>Silver will not decouple from fiat because that's how people buy it
The value of silver for many people is in that they don't believe THIS fiat system can sustain itself for much longer, myself included (inflation, global debt. It's been a few years since I delved into the topic to outline to you eloquently why). Once it does collapse there will a period where your dollars will be worth nothing, bringing gold and silver back to the forefront in this time of complete uncertainty before a new system is established, you won't be trading your metals for money you will be trading them for goods and services, even if this ratio doesn't drop (it will, without kike suppression) you will want silver for smaller purchases.

Idk how you can seriously compare silver with oil. On one hand, the supposed scarcity of oil is used by the oil cartels to pump up the price, using fear with fake news from shilling partisans, using bullcrap theories like "peak oil", while every geologist know oil is the second most common shit on this planet, right after water.
Meanwhile silver's price is constantly suppressed, to a point miners aren't even profitable. There are big lobbyists out there, financed by big industrials to keep silver low, the exact opposite is true with oil. Silver market is super tiny, it's 50 billions USD. Apple could buy out all the silver produced if they wanted to. But reality is they can't, or more precisely they aren't allowed to, because there are stronger forces out looming in the dark not allowing this kind of cornering to occur. Keeping PMs low is the only way for central banks to make believe fiat is the only option left, and that inflation isn't "that" bad..

If there is only one FUD i find credible, it's this one : the war waged by the central banks/jews against PMs to protect the talmudic fiat scam. And it's for sure a very powerful entity limiting down the moon potential. Everything else is easily demonstrably wrong.

I agree that (((crypto))) have been force fed to the normans on a daily, and it will surely have an impact. But look at how BTC price fluctuations is strongly correlated to finance 1.0 now. Every single time stonks are dipping, BTC, and the cohort of 780790972 others shitcoins are following the exact same trend, but crash even harder.
If Timmy the Normie exist stonks because he got JUSTed by -40%, i doubt he will rush to put the few he have left in something who just crashed by -50%. Eventually the "buy the dip" meme, which is historically totally counterintuitive and nonsensical, but on the recent clown timeline, will have to die.
Yet, normans being normans, a bunch of them will lose everything for sure.
But most of them will keep it in cash at first, and once they can't ignore inflation anymore/see physical silver&gold soar, they will FOMO in.
They have no other choice anyway :
>life insurance : worst of all
>bonds : ZIRP or NIRP
>equities : dead
>stonks : megabubble
>real estate : megabubble
>cash : inflated to oblivion
