A non meme answer: All white men should own stock in private prisons. The two biggest ones that are publicly traded are CXW CoreCivic and GEO GeoGroup. Their stocks actually shot up in 2016 when Trump won, and as long as 13 does 52 they'll always have business.

Business is booming, simple as. Prisons are full to capacity, they're expanding and investing, and the foreseeable future has no political will to shut them down, despite some politicians using it as a talking point. The fact is, the private prisons can do the job shittier and cheaper, and there is no politician that's getting elected by promising nicer jails.

Its likely part of the 'WoKeNeSs' disease. Remember that JPM and WellsFargo don't let you invest in GEO or CXW because they wanted to score woke points back in 2019, which also caused a hit. I think that their stocks are really fear sensitive, since they're primarily bought up by people unaware that their managed portfolio contains them. In that way they're like dirty energy companies or mining interests; they're safe defensive positions that let managers take riskier picks elsewhere. I think the minority of their stock buyers are buying because they believe in their mission, so to speak.

Right now, I'd look to see if they get their contracts with local and state govs renewed, or if they at least make up new contracts with lost ones. If that happens, then everyone was all talk, and its business as usual.

Also, at least for GEO, minimum security prison is only a part of what they do. They also do mental health facilities, residential treatment centers, and illegal immigration detention facilities. Despite the justice department in 2016 saying they wanted to phase out minimum security contracts, Homeland Security picked up bunch of the slack for immigration holding facilities.

It took until 2019 for Cuckifornia to get around to finally announcing they wanted to shutdown their partnership on a single facility. Of their 51 USA operations, 9 are in CA, 13 of them are in TX, 2 in NM, 3 AR, 1 CO, 1 WA, 2 OK, 1 Michigan, 2 IN, 2 PA, 2 VA, 1 NJ, 3 GA, 2 AL, 4 FL, and 3 LA. Most of their holdings are in states that will be A-okay with prisoners living like dogs, and even in WA, CO, and CA, they're not getting shutdown. Even with all the shit in 2020, they've been out of the news coverage and the conversation points handed to normie-droids, which suggests an implicit understanding on the part of government that they're a necessary evil.

And necessary evil is like vice (fun evil). Its recession resistant.

Well GeoGroup believed that inmate in their Tacoma, Washington facility deserved exactly $1 per day, and went to court with the state over it.

Does that count?
