Okay so just picked up another 500 stinky linkies today, looking to diversify a little with the big caps. Not all that interested in BTC, looking at ETH currently. Anyone got a nice price point to look out for soon or should I just buy a couple right now @ 230? And is 32 still the desired amount of ETH? Is that for staking purposes? Thanks gang

I just don’t believe in Eth right now. I’ll take some BTC profits into Eth if needed but I need to see more on PoS before I can get past the shitty token economics

I'd like to hear more about it as well but this board doesn't really cater to it all that much. Is it dead in the water? Is scaling still an issue that won't be dealt with anytime soon? CAN it be dealt with? I guess I shouldn't toss out the idea of picking up some BTC, but I've got more faith in projects that are advancing the space, not old grandpa Bitcoin.

nah that’s the one m8. debt and credit are a yin and yang. black and red. pow created the debt to infuse bitcoin with credit. it’s economic model is so simply genius it seems antiquated. It’s NOT. btc should be 90% or more of yr portfolio. I also own some liquidity coins but seriously. don’t over think it.

Eth 2.0 will take care of scaling. if you are in it longterm , don't worry about it. eventually there will be a massive cryptoboom again. or not. but who cares the risk/reward is awsome

I have built a little cash buffer than I can afford to have a better time preference (ie longer term thinking). I'd love to make it this year but am thinking I'd like to make it in the next few years. So my plan is to DCA into a few "bluechip" cryptos for the next few years and hopefully come out of this whole thing with something

This is my concern as well that this "v shaped recovery" is all bullshit and everything EVERYTHING is going to take a massive hit in the next few months to a year. Housing market crashing would be nice if I could afford to buy a house right now but that's unfortunately not an option. But yeah I am generally concerned any investments I have are going to take a massive hit sooner than later and may take a while to recover.

You should definitely have ETH in your portfolio. Another competitor that has more potential upside is Cardano (ADA). It would be a competitor to Ethereum. The downside is that it obviously doesn't have the same level of adoption as Ethereum, but it is a superior product and they are likely going to beat Ethereum to staking. It's a very ambitious project that they have going right now with some really well thought out goals. Out of the crypto field, they have the best academic chops as they are doing real world research in data science. They've done multiple peer reviewed papers.

This is a really good interview by its founder from the other day. I think if you were to give this entire thing a listen, it would at least make you think this project has a very good chance at success.

Whatever you do plan to put down, just make sure you have that cash buffer and won't need this money. That's the surest way to take a loss. Unless a miracle bull run picks up, I think we're on a 2-3 year time horizon. A big crash in other markets would certainly impact crypto since so much of it is speculation at this point over value.

If you feel confident about at least a moderate correction, it might be good to wait a little bit on your portfolio and pick up some coins cheaper. As long as your bags are packed and you won't miss the rocket, seems it might be wise to anticipate filling out your portfolio for a discount shortly.

Yeah maybe it is time to just sit in some fiat and delete blockfolio for a little while. I was cash broke for the past 3 months and it really sucked so now that I have some money in the bank it kinda feels good. Thanks for your advice anon. Godspeed on whatever comes our way

i am currently into goldmining stocks ( the small companies) you might want to look into those. If it's a sharp and fast big crash , everything crashes, but precious metal miners moon like a motherfucker when equities collapse. they recover very quickly and then just take off. Currently i hold a big position in PGM (ticker). holding some cash aside to put into crypto, i'm kind of betting stonks will crash hard sometime around Q4 or beginning of next year. But who f knows right. The FED might start buying stonks to keep that shit floating
