Platinum and palladium are more speculation. I personally wouldn't recommend it, but if you already have all the silver and gold you want/need, and have extra money to play around with, then why not gamble.
For myself, with limited funds, why throw money at metals with a slim chance of mooning when you can just get more silver and gold.
DYOR though, maybe I'll be kicking myself next year for not buying platinum.

If you look at the price history document from this page, you'll notice an insane spike in the prices of both of those metals at exactly the same time in 1992. I know what caused that spike, and I can tell you that that is nothing compared to what it will eventually be. Matthew Crowder of Trader University (excellent channel apart from the BTC propaganda) addressed this issue a few weeks ago:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5ffEORwWkk

He shows data to prove that gold has thrived in Japan. It did the same during the Great Depression (see Homestake Mining: up 500%). So the notion that gold does not do well in deflationary environments is mistaken.

>>19787258

I don't recommend people buy copper coins, because of premiums, but Dominic Frisby of MoneyWeek, despite being one of the greatest gold bulls, is also recommending investing in copper right now, because commodities are at an all-time low. But the way to do that is obviously to buy copper companies on the stock market.

>>19787309

Palladium has already run. Platinum has a small but dedicated following who make a strong argument for it, on the basis of scarcity and industrial uses. I prefer silver, but platinum is a valid choice for speculation. The reason to invest in silver as well as gold is because only silver junior miners have the potential to go 150x and turn $100,000 into fifteen million dollars.

And then some. Suffice it to say those two elements play a critical role in some very esoteric applications. Now, the sharp-eyed among you will read those documents, and wonder something: that nowhere in any of them is there any sign of either of the mentioned elements. This is because the big rotating shell one is a *second* way to produce the same effect as the BEC stuff, but eschews either of those other two elements in favor of straight plutonium. This is no accident, and is in fact a ploy by the navy to keep the public from figuring out what you can do with BECs. We all see the same pattern of ever-quicker, ever-more-aggressive intervention. I think they've made it perfectly clear that green line go up no matter what, so Big Boi margin calls are unlikely to happen to the same degree, and besides they also use crypto as a buffer now too.

Certainly manipulators will try even harder to push it down to stock up, but I also think everybody can sense we are nearing something big and the number of people woke to these games much larger now. They will struggle just to hold PMs flat.

Same goes for gold, where it's even more insane. (((They))) injected more paper gold on the markets the past 2 months than for the past few YEARS. You can see they managed to provoke a tiny deep when they added 8M oz(!!) in early april, but it immediately recovered. Then after, no matter how hard they tried to suppress the price, they couldn't help it going down.
Banks and gubments are scared to death by gold/silver, they need the money to stay in the stonks, equities, bonds and various other fake shit. But people start to wake up, they feel something horribly wrong is about to occur.

I'd say it's extremely bullish, and the price could 10x at any moment now, but if (((they))) truly are getting desperate, i'm afraid we will see some bolchevik-tier consfication of PMs...

I think we're gearing up for mega inflation with possibly another crash, so I bought more puts. I didn't go all in, but I want to be mostly gold and some puts right now.

I can't protect a million dollars of physical good myself.

If the puts I just bought pay off again, I may have another million or two. I certainly can't spend all that on physical gold and safely store it either.

So what do I do?

First, I know nothing about gold. I heard GLD is not trustworthy and maybe PHYS is. Is that all I need to do, buy phys instead?

Since ownership of gold in these funds is questionable, I'm wondering if I should actually take the amount of money I set aside for precious metals and put like 50/50 in mining ETFs like gdx etc. My thinking is that even if the gold etf does not have all the gold it says it does, the miner ETF should easily have ownership over all the companies it says it does, so I don't have to worry that the things I am buying may not exist.

Ordinarily I'd spend months reading about the safest way to do this but I had no idea gld was questionable and now I'm worried that I might not have months to research an alternative.

Would diversifying between both GLD and PHYS make sense in case one of them is a scam?

If they do jack up cap gains taxes, which seems plausible given the AOC/Bernie mindset that seems to be growing, it'll suck to take profits on PMs. But there will be more ways popping up to avoid cap gains taxes then. Rich fuckers already use plenty of avoidance methods, like living trusts, so once again it'll just hurt the law abiding middle class.

I doubt they will have a direct tax on PM's. Miner stocks would be effected only tangentially. I'd be more worried about potential environmental regs, but those are already very strict for mining & any major price increases in metals would make compliance worth it to open new mines.

Short of a catastrophic melt-down in the markets, downside risk in the silver miners is starting to look more limited. First Majestic now a dollar and a half below its February price, SILJ as a whole also lower than it was in February. How much lower can they reasonably go? GDX still 15% above its February price and 4% above its 2016 high, despite the recent downturn. Not the worst time in the world to get some exposure to silver miners if you don't have it already, while keeping cash in reserve in case we repeat the March crash.

John Howell predicting that the miners will soon go up after this pullback: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LDdqcjDHGU

But David Brady saying: "Based on the Copper/#Gold ratio's relationship to the 10Y Bond Yield, the risk/reward is for higher bond yields ahead, something I have alluded to many times recently and could weigh on precious metals and miners near-term."

When Powell said that interest-rates would stay 0% until 2023, gold and silver went up in a straight line within seconds. If Powell announces something radical, like Yield Curve Control, the same thing will happen. A COMEX default or some catastrophic world event could also cause the same phenomenon. David Brady just did an interview which everybody should listen to.

https://www.tfmetalsreport.com/podcast/10189/thursday-conversation-david-brady

Reiterated his opinion that a crashing stock-market, and rising yields, owing to tapered liquidity, are going to put pressure on the metals and miners in the short term. But once the Fed announces YCC to halt the crash, buy all the gold, silver, and miners, you can possibly get, because that will be your last chance before they start soaring. He says that silver juniors could go 5x or 6x by the end of the year.

He says there are two possibilities:

1) We get a brief surge up in metals and miners soon, then they go down, before YCC sends them soaring;

2) They simply go down from here onward, before YCC sends them soaring.

The strategy now, then, is to have a core position in metals and miners, but also have cash on hand in order to buy into a very possible leg down to come.

You should also make sure that you have some physical metals, because he says that they may use coronavirus lockdowns as a pretext for the stock market crashing, even though it is going to crash anyway. They successfully got away with that trick in March, and supply-chain disruptions made it almost impossible to get hold of physical.

What about gold mutual funds, like Schiff's? Not trying to shill, honest question

You have to be an expert to be able to individually pick miners, unless you're just going to go in on the biggest names in which case might as well go with a mc-weighted ETF like GDX lol.

I think I'd rather put money in a few funds that are actively managed by people who know what the fuck they're doing. They know geology, metallurgy, they go out and actually survey the site, attend all the pm-related conferences, etc.

I subscribe to a few advisories and these are the high-quality names that are being recommended:

Silver miners: PAAS
Gold miners: KL, PVG

Other stocks that have been mentioned but are higher risk are HL and AGI.

Large, higher quality mining companies are NEM and AEM.

Be careful with mining stocks. They're very volatile and if they don't do a good job of controlling costs, the stock will go nowhere or maybe even down. I owned mining stocks in 2005-2010 and through incredible skill, didn't make any money despite not buying any speculative issues.

I have a very tiny position (1% investable assets) in mining stocks at the moment mainly for fun. I've got PAAS (bought at $10) and PVG (bought at $7.50) and will look to buy some shares of HL if it gets close to $2.50.

I don’t know about you all... but because of Corona this is the first time since college that I’ve felt alive. I have lots of silver and been waiting for something like this to happen for 5 years. The point where things get so bad that 1 silver merc dime will buy me a blowjob from a formerly well to do housewife and her 18 year old daughter at the same time. I’ve been waiting in the shadows laughing at these cuck husbands who buy their wives range rovers instead of buying silver bullion... knowing that I’ll be face fucking their wives mouths for the 1.30$ it cost me to buy that silver dime.

Just yesterday at Whole Foods I seamlessly entered into conversation about Corona with a roastie milf that had a ring on her finger in the water aisle... and I said this is all a cover for trump to bring us back on a gold standard. She started looking at me in amazement like she wanted me to paint her lips in cum. At the end of the conversation I’m like take my number l have plenty of protection and freeze dried food if you ever need it and she took it from me.

Is correct. Gold is no where near done with its bullrun.... But now the question becomes has it even started? Because if what happened in March isn't considered a initial dip, then Gold can still go much lower.

You have a few months at best. Yields going higher will crash the stock-market and put pressure on metals and miners over the next few months. September or October, just before the election, is when the Fed institutes YCC and begins printing tens of trillions to prop stocks back up. That's when gold and silver soar and never look back. The authorities will probably use the coronavirus hoax as a cover for the crash, just as they did in March, which means supply-chain disruptions and hence metals being almost impossible to obtain. So right now is a rare period of calm before the storm.

You can sell them to any coin shop. But, generally speaking, you shouldn't buy hold-in-hand metals in order to sell and take a profit. Those are for surviving the hyper-inflationary collapse. Miners are the best way to take profits in the short term (the next 1-3 years, before the system completely breaks down). You will be more likely to keep off the government watch-list, since the dealers will not be obliged to report you. nuffin wrong with silver. if gold is ultra-wealthy, silver is at least well-to-do or slightly-wealthy. if you own silver you're already part of the top 10% as 90% or more of people do not own it. the entire system is designed to make people trade their time for paper cash so they can buy food, pay bills, and spend the rest on unnecessary shit like entertainment, breast implants, etc. etc. paper cash is just an intermediary form of exchange with no intrinsic value. PMs accomplish both, they have intrinsic value and can be used to exchange as long as you deal with someone who also wants PMs and has something you need. people trade rifles for silver coins, for example. a lot of youtube gun review guys also shill APMEX and other PM affiliate links. it's all connected. anyone who is a city-dwelling cuck most likely drives a cuckmobile, lives in a cuckshed-sized apartment, deals only in paper fiat, "invests" in faggot stocks like FB and AAPL, has a bank account, does not own weapons for self-defense or property defense.

Are yield curve control measures strongly anti-deflationary?

What I'm asking is, if we expect to see YCC before the end of the year, is it possible that we will not see a significant deflationary period before or after?

That is my hesitation, however. If things go to shit how are mining stocks going to 'perform'. I know the concept is that gold/silver/base metal prices will raise and your shares will ride that wave, but will that instability also bring out an inherent risk factor.

IE who fucking cares how well any stock performs if shit is melting up?

The whole system isn't going to collapse until they reach hyperinflation and are forced to pull the plug, probably about 2023 or 2024 (David Brady). Some people say as late as 2025 (John Howell). Until then, high inflation, soaring precious metals prices, an increasingly broken economy, and a gradual breakdown of social order.

>>19810428

YCC means that hyperinflation and soaring PM prices are inevitable. YCC is when we fully transition from deflation (now) to high inflation. As Mike Maloney says, first deflation, then inflation.
