I'm looking to invest in some mining stocks to take advantage of the likely stagflation that is going to hit. I am also going to be looking into purchasing some Bullion as well.
Pan American Silver, Barrick, and Kinross look like real solid growth potential candidates.
First Nevada and Kirkland Lake Gold appear to be safer and also they show a lot of potential.
Looking for suggestions from the regulars in here at what stocks to check out, or some reassurance at what I am looking at right now. Also, if there are any small market cap mining operations under the radar, that is something I wouldn't mind throwing a little money into as well.

hello hows everyones morning?

Like the first commenter says, I would get yourself some physical metal first and foremost. We still have no idea what is coming down the line, stocks might not be the best option for the future. Your choices of First Nevada and Kirkland Lake Gold are very good, I would suggest also looking into companies like Skeena and Seabridge, Pretivm as well. They are all doing well with their projects. Skeena specifically looks very good so far this year as they are restarting drilling and pre assessment for their Eskay Creek Mine, which was one of Canada's leading silver / gold producers in the past. Be careful though and do your own research. Some others that are looking interesting are Dolly Vardan Silver and Ascot Resources. Dolly Vardan just got investment from Sprott and Ascot is waiting on their feasibility report for their Premier mine.

I tend to stick with JM. I've bought junk from flea market before, it was legit. But it's too risky buying other bullion. and it is tempting a guy at local flea market had generic bullion for spot, but I have no decent means testing a 10 oz sunshine bar. So better for me to just pay the $20/oz online as opposed to $17/oz from him, but it is very tempting. He may have a sigma I've never asked but I doubt

Crystal Lake (Now Enduro Metals Corp) has some very interesting ground at their Newmont Lake Project, there exploring the newest areas of glacial retreat within the "Golden Triangle" region of BCs Northwest Coast Range. However they havent seem to have done much recently, and have had some issues it seems with their corporate setup, I need to look into that further.

M3 Metals again has some very interesting ground, including a massive bulk tonnage gold / copper target 25km northwest of the NewGold / Artemis Blackwater mine. They also have aquired a claim I know very well, the "Stars" Copper property 2 hours west of Houston BC. I worked at Stars two years ago working for competitor companies who had adjacent claims, including Botco. The company however has yet to do any substantial work, unless I missed something in their news releases.

Face Value (FV) is different than the value of the metal used to make the coin. A Government can make a 1 oz copper coin and give it an FV of $100,000,000 and make a 100 oz gold coin blessed by Jesus himself and give it a FV of $1.

Legally, the FV means you can spend it in commerce so if you want into a gas station to buy some chips and w/e else that totals $12 you can pay with 12 1oz Silver Eagle coins since they each have a $1 FV as mandated by the US Government. Even if the metal used in that coin is worth minimum the spot price of silver at the time you spend it. So like $18 each coin.

The America the Beautiful 5 oz silver coins are based off of US Quarters for 25 cents each despite being a 5 oz silver coin costing you over $100 to buy. But you can pay for $1 chips with 4 of those fuckers and the store is legally required to take it as payment kek

Any one who does not have at least 33% exposure to precious metals right now is severely exposing themselves to risk. If a person is sitting it out with cash and trusting that there _must_ be a dip, he is simply gambling. First, miners and gold have not crashed, historically, on the second leg down of a stock market collapse; and, secondly, a default on the COMEX, or some catastrophic world event, could spike precious metals within moments. Do you remember how PMs simply shot up in a straight line directly after Powell said that interest rates would be zero until 2023? That sort of thing might happen any day now. Keep some cash (I have 33% of my net-worth in it) in case there _is_ a dip, but be aware that there might not be one. David Brady is predicting that there will be a temporary collapse in miners, and even he isn't selling, simply planning to add to his position.

Loweeong the amount of gold and silver by weight but keeping the value the same and kinda cheating the market.
Those ridges allow people to know of the coin have been tempered with or not.

I appreciate the kindness and optimism, but 1oz of silver is nothing if you don't have a gun in a zombie apocalypse.

If the stock market was wiped out or fiat currencies in the west were suddenly converted to a PM standard, the practical reality of actually living would be curtailed to the point of violence in my neighborhood (and though almost everyone here is elderly, there are neighborhoods near us that are not as well off and more desperate). The mortgage could never be paid in this scenario, food supply chains would be disrupted (and I live in a major city, not near or on a farm), I wouldn't be able to pay for gas in the car or anything. And that's just me. I have no idea about my neighbors, but I doubt they have any PMs except a few oz in a safety deposit box at a bank that might not be accessible in a crisis. The only reason I have an advantage over them is that I'm in better health and younger...lol I could fight them to the death over the last chicken.

1oz wouldn't do it Anon. It's a nice thing to have and feel....

Not when shit goes down. I was thinking about this as well with PMs actually. If shit went down, why would any dealer who had PM inventory in their warehouse or property...why would they sell it for hyperinflating soon-to-be-worthless fiat? Wouldn't the smart thing to be to hoard it and pay off debts after the crisis has averted?

Same with arms dealers...unless they were trading for PMs...but that's assuming PMs would be worth more than bullets.

Something that I was also thinking about lately: if experts truly believe that PMs are the future or at least the tie over in the even of currency rebuilding, why would they publicize this? Why not stack in secret (like JPMorgan is doing supposedly) and be ahead of humanity after the inevitable downfall? That doesn't sound like a winning strategy, because aren't spot prices affected by desirability in the market as well, so the more people who want it the higher the price will be? By publicizing the end of currency, they're shooting themselves in the foot.

Unless they're selling something (i.e. books, PM security protection, etc.)....I can't find an answer to this conundrum.

From what I gathered this PM getting is for the prospect of turning a major profit before SHTF. If SHTF tomorrow then I hope you stocked up on supplies and bullets.

There have been speculation concerning PMs as a barter item in SHTF. Accounts from the Balkan conflict points that gold could be traded for food and guns but mostly as a means to secure extraction from a conflicted area. Reading a gram of gold for a bit of beans was most likely the case 6 months into the shit steeping.

If we're in a lights out scenario then PMs are basically a barter item and few I suspect would be actively marketing it. Right now I see shtf as not happening on an apocalyptic scale. Yet

That's the problem for me; I don't have the weaponry yet, mainly because it's not encouraged where I live and it's not necessary in the society I'm in. Unless SHTF (and that's the ONLY reason for me to have a registered weapon).

I've read up about the Balkan account, though apparently one of them is a fake (?); bartering you want guns, ammo, cigarette lighters, toilet paper, coffee, tobacco, and canned goods as far as you can go. You need a community to provide protection 24/7, and all that jazz. I live in Canada so really, I'm not worried about trying to get out of here, so I'm not thinking of having a stash to buy plane tickets out (assuming planes would still fly). It's likely I wouldn't flee to the USA (no offense to you southerners here...).

Do any of you like those gold 'Combibar' things where you can separate out grams? If I were to guess, I'd think that those would be very useful in a SHMF scenario, more useful than the normal 100oz bullion bars or something like that. This makes sense, but for me only in the vaguest terms. I'm still trying to understand the 'run on banks' that causes them to default.

But still, the strategy is sound, is it not? If I were a bullion dealer, I'd have to have inventory on the premises, at least something. There would be no reason to sell any of it in a crisis if the crisis were about a new currency and a removal of the old fiat.

Furthermore, if someone wanted to buy the gold, it would be smarter to overcharge them an arm and a leg, and similarly if someone wanted to sell gold you could give them far under value (due to their urgency). Like bottles of water going for 20$ per bottle and shit like that.

The only way that would be prevented is if the government did a 'price-freeze' on PMs....could they do this? If so, would anyone follow it in a SHMF scenario?

A bank run doesn't have anything to do with hyperinflation. They happen in opposite environments.

I don't understand what is so confusing to you. In a high inflation environment, "overcharging" makes sense. That's part of what makes it a feedback loop. You don't just stop selling shit for 18 months to wait for a reset.

>> No.19782418

>>19782317
Just trying to get a handle on the root causes; a lot of it is confusing to me because I'm new at this. For instance, I thought hyperinflation was caused directly by the government buying things that no one wanted to buy in order to keep the liquidity in the system, but in doing so they have to print more money, which devalues the numbered currency meaning it takes more dollars to buy a sandwich that before. To me, that's a different cause than a PM dealer across the street holding their hoard ransom because shit is hitting the fan. In other words, the govt could do their print causing say a 5% inflation, but a PM dealer could charge say 25% over the sell or bid 25% under for someone selling out of desperation. See what I mean? The choices are separate: one is govt, the other is the retailer.

>bear with me...I don't know enough about this, so I'm just going on what I've got.

Inflation is not Quantative Easing or expansion of the monetary supply. Inflation is the marketing raising prices in response to various factors, which may include the above.

Well, I am in Canadia after all. We've never really done anything unpredictable.
>reddit spacing
Fine, I won't separate my ideas anymore. You'll just get walls of text.
I get that we're in a fiat currency, and that not having it tied to a specific physical good allows the govt to control the actual value of a dollar in terms of real purchasing price. How they control this is what I'm trying to figure out: is it only through them physically printing more money? As for hoarding, how could it be dealt with if people didn't know how much someone was hoarding in the first place?
>>19782497
Okay, that makes sense. So Inflation could be seen as a generic term for only 'paper money being worth less than before' whereas quantatitive easing is the issue with the govt buying up investment shit that no one wants to keep the liquidity in the market...is that right?

What you say makes sense. So then, 'inflation' could be applied to Silver right now since it's dropping in price, right? Or would it only be the case if it were dropping compared with gold (but isn't that just an arbitrary connection anyway)? Actually, now that I think about it there are lots of arbitrary connections here since nothing seems to be stable at all (or should I use the word 'unchanging'). I'm lost. Like, I still don't understand why silver must go up. Why can't it fall further, to the point where the g/s ratio is something like 1/250. The argument is made that the historical value should be something like 1/15 or something like this. Why should it go back to that? I don't understand the necessity.

There are degrees to any collapse anon. If you want to get ready for EMP-TEOTEKWAI-WROL-MAYANS2012, then that means you need at minimum a community of people that will gather at a secure location with machine tools, guns, bullets, seeds, years of preserved food and fuel, etc... If you're planning for an economic crash that results in scarcity and local hungrybois, having sufficient supplies for your self and your household for a few months, as well as long guns and ammo will get likely get you through the worst times, which will come early. Remember, supply lines don't stay down when they're lucrative to keep up. When that happens, most people aren't trying to not to starve on a day to day basis, PM barter is more likely.

If you're holding PMs as a hedge against stock and real estate and monetary fuckery, you're just treating them like a physical bank account that doesn't get BRRRRRed away. Or your a tin foil retard like me, who suspects holding silver will put you on the ground floor of the new monetary system

Canuckbro? Weapons are encourages in your area unless you're in the Quebec or Montreal area. I know Toronto is a bunch of artfags but there are some hunters still up there and Asians love weapons (i.e. japs, koreans and Indos etc.) in Vancouver. Even having a bolt action puts you leagues ahead in terms of self defense and shotguns are not frowned upon. Always better safe than sorry. Remember those artfags will want your food and gun when shit goes south.

Yeah the alleged fake account wasn't necessarily ousted in the community and some of his pointers still hold up to this day. Still in terms of stocking up on supplies you always want to remember to either have a good community, trusted friends and family, and enough to survive the winter months (non perisheables, hunting supplies, clothing, seeds, medicine etc.)

Also for those valcombe gram bar things....I don't think it's worth it. More of a novelty and you'll pay a heafty premium for it. But i like the concept and if you want to waste money then who would stop you?

I was apparently wrong about it being a flat 28% tax. You can pay a lower rate depending on your income/tax bracket, and also if you have capital LOSSES elsewhere that you keep track of and document. It seems I was right as far as it doesn't matter if it's ASEs or generic, coins and bullion are all considered collectibles by the IRS.

YES, silver and gold are subject to cgt, UP TO 28%, but can be at a lower rate, consult CPA

The US has more silver mines than they know what to do with. There are thousands of them, but the issue is that they have been abandoned for about 70 years because they shut down for the second world war and than never reopened due to poor metal prices. With PMs, you're most likely going to sell them to a business. Which wont give you straight cash with no paper trail on their books. Otherwise their account would magically have $5k less when you dump $5k in PMs on them and the tax man might say:
"Where did that cash go?"

As I understand it, it depends on several things. Specifically what your other income is, what you paid, amount profited, other deductions etc.
Basically if it bumps you up into the next income bracket or not.
>Then you just have to say you initially purchased your silver for 100 bux/oz on craiglist, so you don't get taxed, right?

Too many PMG folk don’t touch anything else but physical, while I think everyone should own physical PMs there is a lot of money to be made in stocks off a PM bull market. Junior mining can be easy 10 baggers. If everyone believes in silver throw just $100 bucks into some SLV calls. I would go higher but if you wanna play safe $100 bucks into a $26 strike SLV call expiring in January could net you a nice little chunk. I think silver will be above $30 before September. I've been wondering what that anon's deal is for a while now.
He's definitely got some of the classic traits of a "concern troll"...
>I'm new, thinking of buying silver
(I'm one of you)
>There's just one thing/a few things I don't understand though...
-Proceed to give basic fud arguments
-Responds to explanations with circular logic, strawmen, moving goalposts etc...
-When I or some other anon gives a very concise, all-concern-addressing, or well sourced argument/explanation, he'll either go away/go silent or say "I agree with everything you said, but..." and circle around to re-state an earlier tangential "concern".

I can't figure out if it's some next-level fudding, or (you) fishing, or if it's just a genuinely confused newfren. The fact that he reappears with the same "concerns/confusion" every so often leads me to another possibility though...
What if he's a silver enthusiast who is playing some kind of 5-D chess? Like playing the role of the unsure newfren to elicit responses/info to educate the actual newfrens? Kind of a I'll-set-up-the-common-objections, you-knock-'em-down type of sales pitch on PMs.
I dunno. I find it kind of tiresome to constantly re-hash the same old issues, but I do think it might be educational for the newfrens. Usually I don't engage anymore unless there's some blatant misinformation going unquestioned. Usually anons do a pretty good job of sharing info, so I just lurk and/or post pics.

Yes, because they have the ability to directly affect you. Technically, god doesn't do anything because he is everything and everyone - and he loves it all equally, even those who would do you harm. His only promise is free will, and his only purpose is to let that free will play out in whatever manner each individual chooses. From my understanding, any transaction involving 30 chunks of silver qualifies for being regarded as similar enough to the original betrayal to have certain ancient powers take note of it and treat it with similar energy. Luckily, this can be avoided either by having a specific intention for the purchase or by changing the number of pieces in the transaction.

this is all good. especially the part about having a strong group of like minded people together.
if your all alone in any real SHTF scenario, you could have a bad time. because whose going to guard your stash against the hungry hords while your sleeping, or out collecting water or hunting for whatever.
you could have a 100 years worth of supplies for everything, including PMs, but if your all alone, it could be only a matter of time before your found and overrun

Thanks fren! This one just arrived today, stoked about it. All other silver coins are typical stuff (eagles, britannia etc.) stored in tubes and only got a few 1/10oz gold coins so far.

Hmm, that's an interesting way of looking at it. My initialthought is that the significance of 30 pieces of silver only has the power that you choose to give it, much like racial slurs or national flags or really anything symbolic. Symbols only have power over those who attach symbolic meaning to them and beliefs etc that come along with.
I'm just ocd enough to understand the power of changing the number of pieces though, and I respect your beliefs regardless.
I wish you good energy in your endeavors, fren!

Here's the back. It's a Ukrainian coin I from Apmex (OP has has the link). Figured to just do a small order to see that they are legit before shopping with some serious money. If you're from Australia Perth Mint is also worth checking out too

nvm I found it on apmex
>Obverse: Displays the Coat of Arms of Ukraine with “National Bank of Ukraine” inscribed in Ukrainian
>Reverse: Features the Taxiarch Archangel Michael with his wings spread and his sword drawn, surrounded by a quote of T. Shevchenko's "Haydamakys" in Ukrainian which translates to "for us and souls of righteous men", and archistrategos "Michael's strength"

I really like that, adding it to my list of coins to get.

If I don't believe there's any harm inherent in a transaction involving 30 pieces of silver, that God doesn't care, wouldn't that put me in the clear?
>This is exactly the truth, you just haven't yet walked the logic through to it's final conclusion.
Are you saying that since the devil, or dark powers unnamed, hold significance in the 30 pieces, that they would take it upon themselves to appear and cause some sort of grief/mischief/temptation etc?

Perhaps. That's the tricky part. It's very hard to tell, and I'm not yet strong enough to tell you that much truth. Suffice it to say that it is possible, but extremely unlikely. Realistically, don't worry too much about it, because the more you think about it the likelier it becomes.

It's like quantum physics on a spiritual level, collapsing wave functions with possible damnation instead of a radiation-poisoned cat...
>this can be avoided either by having a specific intention for the purchase or by changing the number of pieces in the transaction
Specific intentions are interesting too. Maybe by having positive intentions, the energy associated with 30 pieces of silver can be reclaimed/redeemed to the positive.
Interesting convo, fren. Stay positive, and keep seeking the truth!
