What are /biz/‘s thoughts on abandoning your friends and family when you make it? I would feel like a massive piece of shit if I skipped out on my parents but when I crunch the numbers and factor in taxes and everything...

You dony understand Anon.

When you make it, most likely your friend will turn on you, as they will become jealous of your wealth.

So anyway you will lose friends.

lmfao
you want permission to stop giving christmas and birthday presents every year?
my immediate family costs me like 200 bucks a year for that shit. you need to clarify your question

My goal in financially making it literally includes me making enough so they can retire with me.

You sound extremely butthurt for no reason friend. I’m legitimately curious as to what some of you plan to do with your newfound wealth; ideally I would give my parents a one-time lump sum payout, but I don’t think I’ll make enough to make that feasible

Interesting. So you plan to have your parents live with you?

I'd likely move out to a place where I want to be that has nature and certain weather patterns. What I meant is that I intend to make enough that I can give each immediate family member a few million dollars a piece so they don't have to be worried as much about financial stuff. No intent to cut contact.

I would give them none of it. I already took out 28k in loans that my parents decided a long time ago would be my responsibility with their reckless spending, I tend to believe that having a family is a normal thing and therefore should be necessary even if you dislike them. Its honeslty mutually beneficial.

Here's a wacky idea dont tell anybody when you make a fuckload of money, set yourself up so you can retire whenever you want and dont live beyond your means. If somehow the magic internet money nets you "fuck you" money dont be a retard and give it all away, build something that will last.

you realize you didnt make it, if you’re worried about this

this.

if you can only barely afford costs for yourself that’s not making it.

maybe I’m just blessed to have a good family, but I am willing to die no hesitation if it means they can live comfortably. friends are debatable. family is not.!

Are you a pussy? You're not going to make it because you can't say no AND you give a shit what people think. No one gets a dime of my money besides my immediate family (wife and kids) and parents. If my siblings want money, it will be with a few strings attached (I am not giving them cash so they can squander it or misspend it. Every cent will be accounted for and overseen by myself or an accountant/lawyer). If my friends want money, they can fuck right off unless it's for a business or investment they want to make that I myself would go into as a venture. You can bet you ass that I will want an equity stake and will provide guidance and counsel. Grow a spine mate.

Yes I am. I grew up watching my parents trudge through their shitty jobs to pay for my medical expenses and hospital stays because I was a sick kid. I feel like I owe it to them
>>19785726
I get that. I have a good relationship with my parents and we’ve never really argued over finances but I can see how that would be a major sticking point for someone who has
>>19785691
Yeah that’s more or less my plan. My parents will probably move out of the country to retire but I don’t intend to cut them off or anything

It will fail. There will be conflicts and differences of interest. You will only understand if you reach it. My advice is to try and avoid this situation and keep your lives as separate as possible.

its oldest cliche in the book really.
