Thank you for posting BitBay in the OP. I was going to shill my heart out for it. It's amazing how things are shaping up with it and at this point I think the only thing scaring away new money is the fact that it isn't being aggressively marketed yet. It is also a bit Shit to use on a Mac but the client isn't ready for normies anyways so that's fine with me for the next 6 months or so.

Who missed the black hole dip on GDAX last night? Bitcoins were purchased for $0.06 - the historical low since its launch in 2009. I was 15 minutes late when I saw it. A literal pull-back of the curtain. A 'glitch' in the matrix and a literal overnight multi-million dollar opportunity.

Let's say I wanted to buy $2,500 worth of BTC at $0.06 (41,666 BTC) - would that have been even possible? In volume? GDAX, what's the supply? I can't fucking get over it.

Bought Incnt 3 days ago. Already up over 130%

They have made a WAVES<>ETH token portal along with their original goal of getting normal businesses on the blockchain through thier Customer loyalty programs.

Mobilego is going to make at least a 50k buy when thier ICo goes live. .5% of thier ICO goes directly into buying Incent and Mobilego's ICO should be HUGE.

Incent has their hands in many pies right now. It's gonna be a coin you want in your portfolio. Should be an easy double right now. Up 30% a day more or less.

Long term everyone should have some WBB. They are very quiet about what is going on but thier investors and ALPHA members are very very loyal and there is an insanely low coin supply.

I don't know that much about it but as an exchange it is really good. My understanding is that the value of the coin is tied to how popular the exchange is.

The USP of the exchange is that you get the interest (something to do with POS) on coins, whereas other exchanges keep this for themselves

Crypto coins have little liquidity so I am not sure why anyone thinks of them as currency. Yes you can trade them for certain things, like drugs, but because of the lack of liquidity your ability to then buy something useful, like food or a house, is almost non-existent. Furthermore, the "exchange rate", if you can call it that, is so volatile that no business could do any sort of realistic planning using them as payment.

They only appear to be useful as an investment, but since there is no intrinsic value, it is all fetish value that makes its price rise, a lot like the tulip market in the 1600s. The tulip craze came crashing down when tulips lost their fetish-luster and the same thing can easily happen to crypto coins. I would never buy into it.

What is the general consensus here about buying Bitcoins as a long-term investment (say a few years up to 10-20 years potentially)?

In its first few years its value has increased by many orders of magnitude. Can that continue into the future? I've read articles saying that 1 Bitcoin could be worth $1,000,000 potentially.

Basically I'm a normie, and I don't have the inclination to learn about all the other sorts of altcoins that exist. Say I have a few thousand dollars I can throw around today, what should I do with it where I don't have to invest much time and effort into the investment?

Super newfag here.
So you start off by filling a wallet with USD, like on coinbase, and then you exchange the BTC (Bitcoin currency i assume) for other currencies, like Bitbean?, on a website like Cryptopia? So this is essentially currency trading? With the expectation of one value rising faster than another?

>> No.1974179

>>1974141
Yes, that's correct. You exchange you're USD in BTC and then in another coin, if you want. But don't buy Bitbean, it's overhyped here. And yes this is currency trading. For profit you have to buy that currency at a low price and sell it at a higher price. But it's not that easy, you have to be very careful and don't be emotional, when trading.

There are ways to get bitcoins without verification, but you will get less bitcoins for your money and beware of scams. Only use trusted websites and buy from trusted people. Yes it is. But you get the best price there.
As an alternative you can look at this:

The price there is not that good, but you buy them from a company.

Practical uses in 5-10 years.

Wealthy Foreign - tech savy individuals from countries like China/India are using blockchain to escape poor monetary decisions by central banks. With proper security measures it is safer than gold, greater opportunity for growth and much easier to flee if things get messy.

Not Wealthy Foreign - blockchain will begin to make waves in countries with non-functional currencies like Venezuela. As it gains marketcap it will be ready to take on the next 'victim' because it will inherently be less volatile and more stable.

Normies In The First World - first world normies will be using blockchain tech and not even know they are using it. I was in Shanghai and there were dozens of accelerators and incubators working on making blockchain tech an actual product people will use.

Govt backed cryptos will be a thing but they will not prevail ultimately in the same way that the early intranets used by office buildings and such failed to make real tech innovation. You should have most of your crypto portfolio in bitcoin but diversifying is important. Will there be 'one chain to rule them all', I don't think so personally but that is a discussion that can go on forever.

No, it's a scam. Most cloud mining is a scam.
Think about it, why would you rent your hardware for money if you could just mine for yourself and make more money.

Proof: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1185909.0

Also you can't mine bitcoin for yourself anymore unless you have a serverfarm or a couple of asic miners wich are expensive.
There are very few currencies that are worth mining.

I've been doing this to gain tiny amounts. It won't make you rich but at least you can play around before using your own money

1. Make account at https://poswallet.com Use aprest as refferal ID (appreciate if you do)
2.Click Dashboard Scroll till you find the coin you want a wallet for
3. Click “Generate XXXXX wallet address” to create the wallet
4. Click Faucets find the coin you just made a wallet for and click it
5. Free coins sent to your wallet
6. Trade or keep the free coins

Go watch the Wolf of Wall Street and do what they did with whatever cryptos you've been caught bagholding. You only lose if you cash out.

Think about why you bought into the meme and go make others do the same.

Protip for newbs: click on the play icon at the right of the chart to see how the prediction is holding. You'll see it has been doing a climb/sell with higher lows slowly but surely, big spike is coming soon now that a former heavy resistance at the 60s has turned into support.
