If you're applying to a job that requires a second interview, you're applying to the wrong places.

this is literally the worst job market right now. you'll probably end up "underemployed" like most retards in this country but it will look ok because unemployment will be low.

i don't want to tell you shit like "keep going fren, do another 50 interviews". This is not necessarilly a number's game, you probably should adjust in some way and this is not even that hard. To me the biggest revelation was what huge factor sympathy plays. Your number one task in a job interview is to create sympathy and come around like a person people have no problem to work with. This stands above all, much higher than skills, self-confidence or references, believe me.

>Interviewed with 30+ companies
Did you do research on any of them before showing up? Just know what they do and how they make money, that's helpful to start making them see you as "part of the team" and not "another generic candidate". Next, you try to highlight how your education/skillset can make their team better.

Having reference/past work experience helps more than diploma but if you got nothing else diplomas can at least attest that you know something

In the current state of things, I'd just get on unemployment and wait until it stop being random shit year

This. I wanna quit my job and collect unemployment. Jerk off all day and get paid? Sign me up.
Spend time improving yourself. Even if all you do is gain a bit of confidence, it's well worth it.

that sounds very self-conficend anon, but to be honest there are some entry barriers in place to very good jobs. They are created by companies to filter out people with lower motivation / dedication. You won't need to do an assessment center for flipping burger, but for >150k working in a law firm or for an executive position you will need to jump through these rings.

>> No.19734734

>>19734645
I didnt jump through any of those hoops. I'm making $90k as a junior software engineer at a defense contractor.
Interview was 3/4 a day. They fed us lunch, gave us tour. Real question answer interview was less than 3 hours. Chill af.

I unironically feel bad for people like you OP. I've interviewed literally hundreds of people and there are some that just give off a bad/weird vibe

there is nothing anyone can do for you. dressing nice is a no-brainer, it comes down to how you interact with others and honestly I bet you are just straight up weird.

i think the best thing you could do is go see a therapist. lots of "weird" people have severe identity issues mixed with exceptionally low self-confidence, basically hardcore LARPers who think life is a "play", rendering them unable to act themselves/normal

>>19734568
I always research the company. I hate when they ask "why do you want to work at this company", because I have no interest in that company specifically. I always make something up, although it feels fake.

>>19734968
I always wear a nice suit and try to smile. Sometimes I pause for too long and stumble over my words. But I do that even with my family, it's not specific to interviews. But I don't do that as much anymore because I've had plenty of practice at this point.

>i think the best thing you could do is go see a therapist. lots of "weird" people have severe identity issues mixed with exceptionally low self-confidence, basically hardcore LARPers who think life is a "play", rendering them unable to act themselves/normal

just keep working without raising any eyebrows. just suck it up and wage slave for now. look for a job that's better but don't tell ANYONE at work you are looking. i assume you've been saving money since quarantine and shit, put as much as you can in blue chip crypto (btc and eth only) and hope we moon in 2022/23. cash out (don't fall for the hodl meme) at the right time. maybe have enough to quit wageslaving for a year or at least not give a shit if you get fired. it's the only way. normalfags will buy back in just be patient for a couple of years.

>> No.19736990

>>19736889
I've done a bit of this already (got 1 BTC, quite a bit of XMR and some ETH). Overall I have $12k in blue chip cryptos and around $15k in moonshots. $4k in savings. Turns out not paying rent over the course of a year really helps with saving money :)

Appreciate the advice, would you recommend 401ks or IRAs? I have avoided it for obvious reasons up until this point but am wondering if I should start investing in an index fund once volatility comes down.

>> No.19737181

>>19736990
I mean if your work offers 401k matching and shit then yes, you want to max this shit out as best you can. Roth IRA is also great because it grows tax-free and can be passed onto family tax free. Use the 401k for index funds and normal shit like that. Maybe pick a stock or two like Tesla and Square (SQ sells bitcoin through CashApp so I expect it to do well over the next few years). Obviously, dyor but these are some ideas. I personally just converted my Roth IRA to a self-directed Roth IRA so that I can buy bitcoin and ether in it and hopefully ride the next bull run to 100k bitcoin. People would say this is a bit risky, but it falls within my personal risk tolerance and I need to get out of wageslaving and hopefully can pass on milions to my children tax free by giving them the Roth IRA once I die. That's why I'm taking the chance. There's no way bitcoin does worse than the stock market in the next 2-4 years, so I'm just going all out.
