/biz/, i have a weird hypothetical.

Let's say I had just, a shitload of money, enough of it invested that I can sort of live off that and a few income properties. Obviously I'd want like, friends and family to be taken care of but for my friends, I had a thought.

What if I like, rented office space, or just bought out a warehouse w/ offices, and started what I said was a company, but it doesn't actually do anything. Like, i "hire" my friends, and this office/warehouse is essentially a place for us to hang out and fuck around, but I'm paying them like they're employees. (w/ benefits.) Our "business" doesn't actually do anything. We just post losses every year and it's kept afloat by me and my other ventures.

Could this be a thing or am I a retard?

There's nothing illegal about hiring people to do nothing.

Especially given the trump tax cuts and the gutting of the irs, i dont see why you cant. Just have an ounce of plausible deniability -- get some computers and calll it a streaming setup
