Mixed bitcoin is still less secure and less anonymous than monero. If you're being monitored before you use a mixer your privacy is still compromised, and once you're spending your coins after mixing them you're still transacting on a completely open and transparent ledger. Plus, you're paying a fee every time you use a mixer, AND trusting your funds with a third party.

There's no such thing as a sure thing in crypto, but I personally think monero is one of the closest things to it. If nothing else, it's highly likely that it'll become the next de facto currency for the darknet. That will keep monero around for a long time. It's highly likely that it will become increasingly popular for real world criminal enterprise too. That doesn't translate to a moon, but it does translate to staying power. It may rise and fall with BTC or eventually decouple as its ecosystem becomes richer.

I further think that, in the short term, other projects will appreciate (and depreciate) in value more rapidly. BTC may be around for the long haul, or it might be like napster- the tech that shows the world it's possible without sticking around.
