>tfw not a millionaire

is life even worth living? If you're over 30 and not a millionaire you have failed life. You're not "smart", you're not "an underachiever", you simply lack the genetic code necessary to prevail above your peers. Me personally, I have 5 more years to make it. The feeling of not being at least a millionaire nags at me everyday, i can't sleep at night.

My advice. If you have something you love to do, do that everyday. As long as you are true to what you love. The rest works its self out. Money ain't shit. If I told you and the shallow fags reading this. You would never believe my story. So no need to tell it. Passion before cash.

If you are 30 today, that means you were 20 in 2010. Most people from medium income families start investing around 20, so let's start there.

If you invested 10k into AMZN, one of the best companies in the world at 20, it would be 200k today.

If you invested 1000 a month for those 10 years into AMZN, plus the 10k start, you would be at 1M by 30.

Taxes would leave you with more like 700k if you withdrew that.

Here's the reality nigger, even if you did everything pretty much right in life, you'd still barely scratch 1M.

To pass 1M you need on average:
-Come from a rich family allowing you to invest 100s of thousands in your early 20s
-Have rich parents co-sign on a house allowing you to see gains on massive leverage
-Grow other people's large amounts of money and take a cut
-Start a very successful company.

Very few people achieve these things man. Just try your best to get your shit together now and hit 1m by 40.

>> No.19642730

you're not even trying, you're not even setting goals, and you're not even exploring your options and possibilities which are only once-in-a-lifetime. Fapping all day and being sad and doing nothing all day is not gonna contribute to you "making it". You can talk forever about it like a little girl, and seek support all day, but what are you willing to do about it?

When you day trade, do you exit your positions before market close? or do you gamble away hoping you can ride afterhour volatility? Get informed, pick one, and then learn to do both.

Do you spend more time doing jack shit than getting better at what you do?

What will you do about it other than end yourself?

>> No.19642740

>>19642251
It's all luck past a certain point. Skill switches are too time consuming and costly to do constantly which means whichever skill (or skills) you choose to build up, you're basically stuck with. There are a limited number of positions open for people with whatever skill you choose and not every position is created equal so a fraction of a fraction are actually rewarding in a big way.

For every winner, there are 999 losers who probably on a different day would have been the winner. The other positions besides those elite ones are just place holders that if you're lucky don't make you want to kill yourself while you wait for the more elite positions to open up.

You also can't "create" positions in general, so even if you're exceptionally skilled there are a limited number of inefficiencies in your field that you can reliably take advantage of and if you attempt to, you're opening yourself up to a great deal of other luck based factors which might sabotage your success in doing so even if you had everything lined up right.

The correct way to do anything and everything is be open minded to success as a concept, no matter how you achieve it. Pick like 3 skills that have mild synergies, but are still different from each other, and work on all of them with an open mind that you'll commit to whatever gets the most traction the easiest. If that means fixing vacuum cleaners, you pretty much have to go with that, even if you want to be a professional body builder.

Life is all feedback loops and you'll recognize when you have a constructive one on your hands because things will feel easy. There will be a natural momentum, a wind at your back. The reason failure is so rampant in modern times is because we have a culture that tries to champion hard-work and persistence as a way of covering for how easy it was for some people. If it's not working, you guessed wrong and you either pivot or pray.

We all want to look at Jeff Bezos with a hand written Amazon sign in some dingy poorly lit office and say "my ancestor :)" but the guy was a successful quantitative trader before he even attempted the Amazon concept. The reason you hear about guys putting away 18 hour days and shit (besides more often than not being bullshit) is because at hour 8 they're making $15, at hour 9 they're making $18, at hour 10 they're making $22, at hour 11 they're making $27, you think they should keep going? Wouldn't you?

They put in the time because the time gets rewarded. If your time isn't getting rewarded, you pivot. The whole idea that you should "just stick with it, meditate, hone your craft" and all that new age shit is trash. The best people at everything were always pretty much going to the best.

If you could plot their skill curve, you wouldn't see any significant dips or prolonged flat-lines, you would see it just going higher...and higher...and higher...Speaking of Bezos: https://www.thestatesman.com/business/amazon-founder-jeff-bezos-reveals-how-a-sri-lankan-friend-helped-him-realise-physics-isnt-his-calling-1502686710.html

Don't be alternate reality Jeff Bezos fumbling around like a dumb ass, insisting you're a physicist, when you can just admit it isn't your thing, cut your loss, and find something that works. I'm telling you to do the exact opposite of what all of those self-help, pop-psychology shit books tell you: stop meditating, stop mindfulness nonsense, throw away your stupid fucking journal and quit the shit that isn't working.

>your peers
why do you care so much? I have friends, but I tell myself that I don't need them, and can do without them. Stop worrying about things you have no control over, and start working on what you can. Even if you reach 60, and still only have a networth of 400k, that's still fine. You made it that far.

My dad has a networth of 2M today and a nice house and hardworking wife who can't work anymore and dysfunctional family, but he started at 17 working a shit job in a car factory and only started his business at 35, and started trading at 50-60's. I browse these boards to learn from peoples' mistakes and hope I can avoid learning the hard way.

There's been studies about people who made it to the age of 100 and over, and they all have a passive fighting personality in common. If you're just moping now, then you're not going to make it. If your goal is lambo, then you're gonna have to be creative to work for it, and keep on grinding.

He didn't say anything about meditation or mindfulness though (which has little to do with this entire topic, outside of mental health and whatnot). And your advice is basically worthless "do something that works, don't do something you suck at" - OK, thanks genius. It seriously sounds like you just have some weird bug up your ass about meditation for some reason.

if you are saving a lot of cash you will never be a millionaire. Every paycheck should be immediately put into undervalued stocks that pay good dividends. Do that every paycheck and you will get there fast. If you have a million in stocks you should be able to make a 6 figure salary off dividends. My dad made roughly 300k every year until 2008, then that dropped to maybe 150k. He only recently became a multi-millionaire at 64 selling about 10 million in property holdings.

Life isn't all about money, anon. I had a very charmed existence throughout my childhood but more importantly I had parents who gave a damn and made sure to spend time with me and provide me with amazing experiences, while having the security to give me that life without constant stress.

Things are nice, but telling you from experience... the big house gets old, the cars stay cool for a year, the vacations are fun once and a while, but the thing that matters most is creating a family legacy of happiness, hard work and love. I can say with 100% certainty that my father's number 1 priority his entire life was making us feel loved, and he would have given up all his money for that.

Hey rich people would you let your son go to a public school with all the gypsies, africans, future criminals? or do you at least bother looking through both the public and private schools?

I personally want to complete avoid sending my kids to school because of my past experiences. It dumbs them down, teaches them to be sheep and teaches them to not use the law or be sneaky or think smart or report scumbag rednecks pretending to be intellectuals. Public school for me was fascism incarnate.
Better off teaching my kids myself how to make money and learn to appreciate things in live. I can no longer appreciate things outside of torturing 90% of this planet, nothing but crabs pulling other crabs down.

If you can make 200$ a day flipping shitcoins or stocks you can make $76,000 a year, and then you can flip that higher. You don't need a wild crushing success to make it, just put in the work and make your gains every day and you're waaay ahead of 99% of everybody else.
