It's overvalued with a conventional valuation model, but it's not really overvalued once you do a lot of research into the company and realize what a giant it's going to become, that's the reason why the share price keeps rocketing upwards. The high share price keeps some of the smaller retail investors away, but if you look at their market cap it just surpassed Toyota today. Toyota produces millions of more cars than them but that isn't that useful of a metric because they largely make ICE cars and it's like comparing horses to automobiles. Tesla will likely remain the EV leaders, but the real bet is on if they figure out full self driving before anyone else and apply it to their fleet as well as enabling the ability to use their cars like giant batteries and feed energy back into the grid during times when it's needed. That would make solar power cheaper than nearly anything regardless of the location and produce billions if not trillions in revenue.

The real problem with TSLA is finding a good entry price, that I can't help you with.

Tesla just announced that they're bringing their semi truck into volume production. Nikola still hasn't sold a single vehicle and isn't set to sell one until 2021 at the earliest. It may take awhile for NKLA investors to realize how terrible the company is, that's fairly typical with meme stocks.

Hear me out. The body is extra durable. One thing that lots of actual work fags hate is the meme beds on new Ford's because they get damaged easy as fuck. Also, owners, PM's, and other upper-echelon work fags want a nice truck, but they dread the inevitable paint scratches and body dents on a 65k plus vehicle. The stainless steel body on the CT does away with a lot of that worry.
Protection against to theft is another big plus. I don't know how many subs I know that have had thousands of dollars in tools stolen at least once. The sentry mode on a Tesla would probably do wonders to prevent theft when parked unattended.
The biggest game changer is that it can serve as a rolling generator. Imagine being able to power all of your job-site equipment directly from your truck. No need to lug a 5-10 Kw gennie around when you can just run it directly from the truck.
The only downsides I can see are side bed access (which as a construction PM fag I don't really see as a big deal), actual bed capacity, and how mounted accessories like ladder racks will be integrated into the design. As someone that doesn't own Tesla stock or a Tesla vehicle, I am seriously considering buying one once they finally come out. I also know a lot of successful sub crews that are interested because it would allow them to lug less shit around, pull heavy loads better than a diesel, and have less chance that it would get fucked up on a job site. The range is a meme for actual contractor's because it would primarily be driven to and from the job site with a random trip to a supplier or dump during the day.
