It mostly depends on the level of involvement you want.
You want none? Buy high performing mutual funds in sectors you think will grow in the future.
You want a little? Buy some ETFs or individual stocks of mega sized companies, maybe some investment grade bonds.
You want minimal research? Speculate on smaller sized companies you think will grow in the future, sell covered calls on companies you like to hold, maybe get some junk bonds.
You want high involvement? Learn stock options strategies, read about the state of the economy, analyze upcoming earnings, look at company fundamentals, evaluate overall trends and momentum, buy speculative bonds.
You want to gamble? Buy calls and puts.

Leveraged Bull Index ETFs, ideally those that emphasize tech or advancing sectors over dead sectors. The reasoning is the same as T-Bonds. If those sectors collapse then the whole market is probably in flames and nothing else would have been worthwhile to hold.
SPXL, TQQQ, and UDOW
Sometimes people try to microfocus on certain sectors like SOXL, TECL, CURE, etc. but they are usually redundant or strongly correlated anyway with SPXL, TQQQ, and UDOW. You will have to be slightly more active than just dumping money into shares and checking your account once in awhile. The main issue is crabbing. Leveraged ETFs decay during crabbing periods and those tend to be associated with VIX. Bull markets, however retarded, give you maximum gains (leveraged 2.5 is ideal but not possible). Crashes are fine too, correlated with a rising VIX, but will require you sell immediately when a crash looks emminent. It can be at large losses too since your gains will be so enormous anyways it'll still be higher than the unleveraged index fund. Crab is the enemy.
Now typically you want something "anti-correlated" with the market. A good option there is TMF which spikes when the market crashes. So you can do the standard 90/10 Stock/Bond portfolio but optimally leverage it. And check the VIX or news once a day to hurriedly sell if it rises.
I think the future will be to keep a small part of a portfolio for long promising holds of a few companies that you like and have a solid vision and potential for growth. Dividends are value TRAPS and should be avoided.

>It's always outlasted government currencies, its always willingly traded at good value, and at whatever host country the holder is in
Gold is inherently worthless to your survival. It is difficult to denominate, difficult to transport, dangerous to carry or store. You want to go full retard with hedging against civilization then what matters is having your own land far away from everyone else. Land with access to fresh water.
Gold assumes that all fiat collapses, they hold their worthless boomer rock, then civilization comes back with fiat and they will be "compensated fairly". We already know this doesn't happen even in US history with the various Gold Reserve Acts which basically forced a compensation and confiscation of gold.
Retards that hold gold are worried that the world ends, but they don't want to even in this fantasy give up the creature comforts of living in a city or town.
>What exactly is this "winning move" to you?
For example, the "winning move" as a citizen of the Weimar republic was to buy US dollars or british shillings or whatever. Really it was to move the fuck out of the country.

But I still saved a nice wad as well so it wasn't a total loss. Then the housing market took a shit. Nice houses were being given away almost. I found this house real close to work here in the city at a steal. I further got the price knocked down a bit more when the owners attempt at remodeling the basement was on display. Never fell into the college debt trap so no loans to pay back. No auto loans either. No ex-wives to pay money to. No credit card debt. Just a house payment. Which as I said I got cheap. Nice house though the value has gone up nicely over the years.

Once again, false fucking argument. The world doesn't need to implode for Gold to be valuable.

If I was in Weimar Germany and somehow had the genius to invest in America USD before hand, then yes that would be a good play. Conversely, had I invested in Gold, then traded it afterwards for USD, guess what? Also a fucking great play. Was it as valuable as specializing into USD? Maybe not. But guess what? If America had gotten involved in the War earlier, it could have been as broke as Britain. So all that USD you invested in? Worthless. Meanwhile the Gold holder just trades in their Gold at whatever country DID have a strong dollar.

Do you understand what I'm telling you? If you're psychic or a super genius, then there is more optimal plays... But nobody here is either of those, and most people aren't willing to bet it all over a assumption of what will or will not maximize profits.

Families who hold Gold will still have money 50 years from now no matter what as shown by history, while those in whatever various dollars may or may not.

Gold so far is only traded as an intermediary between fiats. And by so far I mean through human history.
> Conversely, had I invested in Gold, then traded it afterwards for USD, guess what?
You used gold as a pointless middle man. You open yourself to getting shafted at every exchange point. Just get the USD in the first place.
> If America had gotten involved in the War earlier, it could have been as broke as Britain.
Just pick a country that wasn't running up debt at the time if you want to REALLY hedge like the Swiss Franc. You literally need there to be no standard stable currency ANYWHERE to justify the pointless middle step.
>Families who hold Gold will still have money 50 years from now no matter what as shown by history, while those in whatever various dollars may or may not.
Over 3000 years of human civilization it hasn't happened. Bitcoin is trash but the one good thing about it is it became an existential threat to gold shills.

If the anon who recommended IVR and MFA and KOS is here. Thank you for your juicy tip.

I would say just dont be dumb. That 2k can go a lot of places. I'd say take 400 and put it into 3 or 4 different companies on a decline atm. Use 800 or 600 dollars depending on what you do and huck it long. Get some bulk. You aren't going to make anything getting 10 or 20 shares in shit. If you can buy over 50 under 400 and if it looks safe for after covid. Then go long. Dont try to short the market. You're just going to cause stress. Buy in, and fuck off. Set alerts on your phone for certain thresholds. I wouldn't even put a stop limit on most shit for the negative direction because of second wave. Just remember that trees dont grow in a day. Weeds do, and they are pruned often.

I agree with every who responded to me that the odds of sustained or increased riots/looting is low, but I still think that it's possible.
A lot of the more politically motivated agitators were imprisoned last weekend, who knows if they are still being held or not. But a lot of young urban "entrepreneurs" with less political motivation got a taste for widespread looting. I think that if they see possibilities for quick looting or violence, they'll take them.

We could see things turn less political and more tribal in some cities when the sun goes down.
