Leads me to believe this recent activity is all speculation on headlines, nobody has faith in the stock and they're transferring the asset over to FOMOs. Who the fuck is buying my options when I sell?

I had a call on MGM that I got monday (wish I got DKNG instead) at 18.5. This morning it shot up 10% and I sold it when the underlying stock was 19.1-19.2 . Really ballooned my earning this week but the thing is someone bought it?

I thought I would be stuck with the call and be forced to exercise next week or sell at a extremely low price just to get rid of it. Nope someone just bought it.

Is there logic I'm missing here, why would you buy a call that is dramatically below the current price of the stock.
