ehhhh never mind. trend lines and triangles can at least show a simple representation of buying and selling pressure and which side is weakening, but once you start getting into shit like cup and handle, harmonics, or head and shoulders, you're pretty much just getting into astrology territory.

i was thinking more in the sense of seeing on social media what kind of patterns exist with hype around what people are expecting the earnings to be (good/bad and by how much), and using TA to see an uptrend forming on multiple time frames. so that way, you can theoretically buy in during the hype and get out before earnings even happen, and then potentially play earnings drift afterwards. i was wondering if there was some way that looking into a company's financials or historical ER's could strengthen this edge, but you mentioning cup and handle makes me cautious as to what you have to say now. especially if there was something you could look into on the fundamental side that would allow you to actually play the earnings themselves (i.e. buy the day or two before and hold overnight, having a high probability of calling the correct direction of the resulting spike, selling for a massive profit in the morning or even pre-market).
