But I believe that the world's reserve currency, the US dollar, isn't worth the synthetic fabric it's printed on or the nickel and copper it's minted on. It works because the economic powerhouse that is the US wants it to.

I believe that the Fed could easily control the value of the US dollar and by extension the prices of goods and services. Like in that episode of Rick and Morty where Rick cripples a galactic government by simply changing a number on a computer. Perhaps not that direct, there's probably a level of nuance to it, like with the way the fed does interest rates... But yeah that's what I believe.
