Ding ding ding! How did everyone do today? I'm up 1.14%, anotha great day :o
Incredible V-shaped recovery (hehe) takes us back to where futures peaked last night, very interesting to watch especially as I've finally learned how to actually-actually use market profile. OTF buy at 3:45 was the turning point, should have longed hard on leverage but didn't trust myself enough. Ah well, still a great day, sold some excess KHC for a nice profit since I wanted some more cash. Wondering if rally will continue into end of May and what will come after. Considering re-entering gold still but it still feels so speculative :<
ahh here's the real thred, why would it be labulabu edition when they had such a poor performance?

This way you don't have to sell stocks when you need short term money, which could be in a bad spot on a particular day due to fluctuarions. Honestly... Would I rather hold SVXY that long or buy a dip in one of the insane outpreformers like the one that's happening in Dexcom?

I think there's more certainty of the future of diabetes in the US than of market volatility going down. Though Dexcom might not be the best way to play that either.

So if it's truly TINA, then they're gambling on solvent corps that can continue in the debt based buyback bubble? I really fail to see how serious money would be buying into this. I'm wholly of the opinion it's retail shooting itself and MMs either getting their books ready for a decent looking Q2 and Q3 or finding ways to unload toxic boughtback equities in preparation for the continued credit squeeze.

One of the engineers wrote a lengthy book about this crash explaining exactly what went wrong, why NASA knew the launch was risky but did it anyway, disregarded warnings etc. It's a good book: Truth, Lies, and O-rings by Allan J. McDonald.

Explosion was caused by failure of an o-ring seal in one of the SRBs. Super hot gasses shot out the side of said SRB and ignited the main fuel tank. Kaboom. Questionable performance of those seals had been identified before the incident but not fixed. Shuttle was launched below recommended minimum ambient temperature. O-ring seals in the configuration they had do not work as well in cold temps. NASA tried to do a coverup afterwards. It was quite the legal circus with government inquests and the whole bit. Modern SRBs do not have this vulnerability but there are still strict guidelines about suitable launch weather for a thousand other reasons.

Possible, it's looking like rates aren't going up if you're looking out 5+ years, balance sheet isn't going down, Fed will prevent catastrophe "by any means necessary" and they have some heavy duty means available to them.

I've lost a lot of money trying to play SPY but this is the only thing that has somewhat worked to dig myself out of a hole. I'm afraid I shouldn't even be posting it because then everyone will do it and it'll stop working.

At 3:50-4:00 PM, buy the next closest OTM call with the next closest DTE. For example today it would be a 304 call 5/26.

The next morning, sell your call if it's the slightest bit green.

The market manipulation seems to happen in the after-hours/futures/pre-market.

By doing this you avoid PTD because you bought at close and sold at open, but you get the benefit of all the volume that only happens at open/close.

>risk profile of US Stocks is fucking horrible.
Many traditional "fundie" metrics are out of whack. there's no guidance moving forward, we've got the elephant in the room that's chapter 11 for a sizable chunk of the market.
>Fed will prevent catastrophe "by any means necessary" and they have some heavy duty means available to them
>If JNJ and PEP become "zombies" they're still going to pay me my divvy
what is RDS.B, GE, DIS, F, GM . . .
Investment grade corp bonds are likely superior here, even if the yield is "shit." It removes your risk for co-movement and if you picked wrong, you have precedence over all stocks. Additionally catastrophe is just a credit freeze. a drop in prices for equities is not by any means.
>Hostile takeovers are more likely in my humble opinion.
This is a fear expressed by US politicians. Whether it is true or not is another story.

>>19374665
their growth is limited because they're already running out of new revenue from foreign markets, and the path forward is going to be complicated and messy. You also end up with a lot of baggage if you're looking at like comcast, Viacom, T, LGF, DIS, etc.

fed only gives a shit about a credit freeze, could care less about the stock market. As long as people are able to create, buy, and sell debt, they probably don't give a fuck.

Arguing with the market is a statistically disadvantageous approach. If you have minimal trust in the trend, you still trade with it but you keep your hold periods brief and snap up profits quickly. What you don't do is contrarian short your way straight up a bull run and get madder and madder about it until you run out of money or quit.

MDT calls at open tomorrow if rest of the market is green will likely be my play in the morning.

Shit follows the same up & down pattern each day.

Holding Macy's until EOD Thursday or Friday depending on momentum. Earnings on Monday so I'm selling to avoid IV crush.

Kroger I'll hold for another 1-2 weeks as earnings get closer and volume picks up.

MGM I'll keep holding for a while since earnings already passed. January calls so don't care what happens in the short term.

Disney I'll hold for now, will make a decision on Friday on if I want to keep holding over the weekend. Disney World is re-opening in June so perhaps there will be another pump once people have physically set foot in the park. If it pumps to like 123 I'll likely sell there to be safe and lock in profits.

The S&P500 went exponential after today, which is a very very bad sign in most every case.

Exponential curves are usually mini-bubbles on their own and this has a lot of free fall under it.

of course. However, I was also the guy late last night/this morning autistically watching futures and made the same correct prediction when S&P500 futures went exponential on the hourly chart.

It crashed super hard into opening. Well we closed today on a perfect exponential hourly chart again.

Well that's kinda the thing with stock classes. You've got a limited number of A shares that's held by founders mostly. Then you've got B shares that's given out en-mass for the common folk. The limited A shares hold more voting power than the common B ones do. So that way shareholders or board members can't really do shit about the company. The founders (CEO) have all the power. Which is why FB will be ran the same way it has been till Zuckerburg dies or he gives it up. Google/Alphabet is the same way. Hell Zuck is only what 30? So he could run the damn company for another 60 years and there's damn little anyone could do to stop him or change how FB does anything.
