However, eugenics being correct as a method of accelerating speciation in no way implies that natural evolution did or did not account for this or that variation in cultural evolution. Evolution is a feedback loop between organisms and environment. Changing the environment will change the organisms in it. It becomes very hard to argue that a) the drastically changing environment of western civ would leave imprints in human DNA and that b) the requirement to compete in an increasingly complex environment didn’t spur human evolution in the direction of increased intelligence and social competence.
