19354179 No.19354179 [Reply] [Original]

From my research I’ve been able to see a major con of this device is the amount of different tokens/currencies that can be stored at once (3).

Aside from that, are there any drawbacks to the Nano S from a security standpoint? I only have LINK, so just looking for a cheap but secure method. This is only about 60 bucks so figure it could do the trick. Enlighten me if I’m asking retarded questions

It's so much easier to go through metamask on a trezor, ledger software is nice and all but also closed source.

be a chad, use a paper wallet made on an air-gapped machine that will never touch the internet again

I think that the software is open source but the os is closed source on ledger

truth is only tech illiterate tards are so paranoid...
boot a live disk (no internet) make your paper wallet restart your pc and it's fine. there is no way your pc is routinely recording the amount of information necessary to reconstruct a cryptographic ally secure rng it would violate some laws of physics and technological restrictions on contemporary electronics.

Is it safe to buy this and Trezors from Amazon? Trezors are selling for less than 50 usd ea now and was thinking of picking one up with my stimmies.

yes I am retarded, I read "on" as "or", I would also ultimately recommend a trezor but I don't find it more usable with metamask, both are easy unless I'm missing some feature that trezor has?

I have both. Trezor is much faster and less of a pain in the ass.
>don't have to scroll to the eth icon in the device
>don't have to input the pin on the device
>don't have to scroll through each transaction and press both buttons on the device
It's just a more pleasant experience.

>>don't have to scroll through each transaction and press both buttons on the device
To clarify, I can just spam the right button on my trezor, on ledger i have to spam right button then press both.

I have a nano x and I really like it

>> No.19355103

you can store more than 3 at the time. your seed is addresses are derived from the same seed, so uninstalling and reinstalling an app gives you the same keys. It can be a hassle if you're actively using more than 3 blockchains, but not a big problem. you can also get the ledger nano X if you want more storage on your device if it ever is a problem

this. trezor is much more convenient.
e.g. if you forget your pin, and don't have access to your seed, you can access your funds by just 15 minutes of tinkering with the electronics. i don't get why anyone would use those unconvenient wallets that force you to remember your pin forever.

>> No.19355848

ok. ftr, trezor t is actually more convenient for input, setting in the pin is a pain in the ass on the nanos. but still because of the pendrive size and idk what other factors, i prefer them the most by far.

paper wallets are fucking retarded. when it comes time to access/send your crypto, you still have to type your private key/passphrase on an internet connected computer and get jacked

Are you actually retarded OP? It holds 3-5 apps at once, you can send tokens and uninstall the apps and the coins are still there, just reinstall the app, it's an interface for your seed. And people wonder why they stay poor, literally sub 80 iq

My Nano S stopped working after they pushed multiple updates to the Ledger Manager. I could only store 1 app and wasn't able to check my balances. Upgraded to the Nano X and everything works fine. But seriously stop fucking with the outdated S and pay attention to the products available out there.

dude learn about current limits of information density as well as power consumption and heat generation by semi-condutors. there would be no way to hide a secret drive of "infinite" capacity on your mass produced motherboard.
