JETS etf is similar situation. On this i'll say try not to be too much of a contrarian. The thesis on airlines for the moment is corona hit priced in so long as they don't go bankrupt. Recovery not priced in yet. That's about where the price has settled. Now, I don't know why anyone would choose to go in hard on AAL, of all airlines to choose from, but airlines in general is a reasonable long to take right now as probability is high there will be a steady stream of increasingly positive news and traffic numbers heading in to summer. And none of them have to report the quarterly butcher's bill until mid to late July.

If you wish. JETS does have a decent amount of exposure to international airlines, and also has a small 0.88% holding in Airbus (but no Boeing). This should also be factored in to whether it makes sense to you to go with JETS or put together your own airline portfolio.

Actually I do have a pretty eh robust set of holdings. But they're long term. Plan to hold'em till I'm dead @ 100. (I hope). Then I'm gonna fix it to where my heirs can't sell them either; knowing them they'd just sell the lot and piss away the money. HAL (and/or PD) is short term fodder to generate the missing 17,000 I need to at last have a whole year's salary in the bank. Currently most of my money is flowing into investments after expenses so that don't leave much dangling to give me the required money by age 40. I'm not about to fuck myself long term by diverting any money from my other holdings. Some may question why have that much green in the bank. My answer is this; If I can do it why the hell not. sides it's just plain fucking cool knowing I could take a whole year off work and not worry about shit if I wanted.

TQQQ is a 3x leveraged ETF with a negative theta since you lose more than you gain even if the negatives and ups and same percentage. It only looks good because the market has been in a constant bull state the past 8+ years.

The real question is will there be a second wave like March, or will we enter another bull market for the next 8 years? That's the bet people need to make. If all goes well, there will be a correction (just in case all the unemployment and other countries don't rebound like the US might) which will plunge TQQQ 3x harder due to leverage, which is when people should buy in. Fuck DCA on $TQQQ.

There's no way. The current rally isn't because the corona shutdown didn't hurt much, but because it hasn't actually had an impact yet. Consumer spending will take a hit when by when CARES runs out, and economic weakness will return shortly after that.

The election adds a bit of uncertainty though, especially if Trump were to lose.

2-3 is optimal leverage. "Fake and Gay" or "ETERNAL GOLDEN BULL" it doesn't matter. The jews have inadvertently decided to help TQQQchads with circuit breakers that prevent wild, sudden VIX swings from crushing you. Just sell when VIX spikes. Buy when it comes back down.
TQQQ and its holdings are literally dragging this shitty market kicking and screaming back to ATHs. Smallcaps are still in the gutter but who cares? We are here to make money. You make money with options plays during high volatility and then dump your winnings into TQQQ when that stomps being fruitful.
Oil, airlines, hotels, cruise lines, DUDE WEED, whatever will still be hoping for 100% returns 2 years from now while TQQQ is taking a third or fourth helping at least.

The lockdown isn't what caused the market drop, it was pure panic. A second wave will mean a second panic. The lockdowns matter for long term economic impacts that will make a return to the endless bull impossible, but much less so for large, swift swings. Plus, there very well might be lockdowns if the second wave is even close to the severity of the first, let alone more severe. Few people actually want to go wage slave under risk of plague and now they've had a taste of lockdown freedom. From now on, any large scale disease outbreak is going to result in demands for lockdown and free money.

The Fed stimulus + reducing reserve rates to 0% is untenable in the long run, but it CAN hold out at least long enough until the election.

>support your biases.
I'm afraid you're the one with a bias. Early on, corona seemed like a deadly virus. At first, this was the fault of China's under-reported numbers. Then it was caused by a lack of testing. Both caused the number of known infected to appear much lower than reality, which in turn inflated the CFR. This is also why countries with widespread testing had such a low CFR compared to countries that couldn't test as much.

Even the CDC acknowledges the low CFR at this point. It's about 0.4%, which is a wildly different number from the estimates at the start of lockdowns in the US. There won't be another lockdown after this. The only real question is how long it takes for local economies to recover.

The support to bust through such a resistance has to come from somewhere. The S&P already reallocated to FAGMAN and culled the weak. The Fed liquidity injections are priced in. The stimulus checks are exhausted.

I can think of one way to solve this problem, but it's politically unpopular. Just put money into everyone's bank accounts. Watch spending, demand, and stocks inflate like it's 1929.

I think the GOP/wealthy class will eventually capitulate and throw morals out when they realize they would get rich from it too. I think they're scared that if they do it once, it creates precedent and people will expect it in the future. I think they're also scared it will destroy the illusion of money and the power it has over people's lives when it's printed and given away for free.
