I always consider insider trading an indication of short term negatives. Think about it; if you load up on stock of your company and it immediately spikes, you're basically saying "hey, I used privileged information to make a quick buck" which is obviously illegal. Its the same reason I always do the opposite when insiders sell too. Maybe this looks good for the long run but in the short term I don't think this is good news. I think its the insider saying "I know there's not going to be any good news in the short term so this is a good time for me to buy in without being suspicious"
