19285936 No.19285936 [Reply] [Original]

People are receiving pretty fat unemployment checks.
But spending has dropped and there is now less opportunity for people to buy shit.
So what gives?

Deflation and inflation is tossed around a lot, but what do you guys think?
Personally, I am furloughed and i'm receiving unemployment, but I am not spending it and trying to be conservative about my purchases.

Is this bad? should I be spending cash and converting to goods I can make use of, going into this?
I've bought maybe 3 months of food and a gun, but will holding onto cash be a step in decreasing the value of the dollar I hold?
And is the value of my dollar dependent on the spending habits of the rest of America, too?

If everyone just clutches onto their "please dont loot" checks, doesn't it defeat the purpose of receiving it in the first place?

Where the FUCK are we going with this?

Food, utilities, housing ... how are you not still spending a sizeable portion of that money?

If you compared your spending today with during the before times, how much more did you used to spend compared to now?

Maybe about 2k before, 1k now.

I'm one of those rapidly aging "California boys" who's mom divorced and now squats in a condo rent free by himself through the power of passive guilt while she lives with her new family and CEO boyfriend.

It's a bomb.

Deflation will tighten as the economy reacts to the cascade of failures caused by government shutdown, price of goods with restricted production will inflate stuff like eggs and milk, meanwhile assets will all deflate.

The government will helicopter more and more money to Americans to trying to administer airbags to a car crash victim after he's smashed a wall. They will stuff it all in their accounts and save it away, as the restrictions lift and large portions of the economy begin to resume production, painfully slowly, second wave despair will set in and government will throw even more USD at the problem printed fresh off the fed.

Inflation will continue to rise at a steady rate on consumable goods which will eventually taper off, mass unemployment will still be a cataclysmic issue but everyone is getting enough money to get by at least if they're unemployed. You wont go hungry or homeless.

By the end of the year much of the fear and uncertainty will disappear, and so will the deflation things are looking up! Consumers will start to spin up spending but with one fatal kick, all the money distributed through currency printing will rapidly enter circulation and massively drive up the price of goods yet again, the fed's response will be even more printing to compensate further accelerating the issue. Here we enter hyperinflation and the US permanently loses its reserve currency status in SPECTACULAR FASHION. I won't get into the nitty gritty of what they will replace it with but there will be a lot of knifing in the back over it.

No longer do you receive government money. You are now on government food. Soon, not even that.

Buy gold and crypto guns and ammo and make a garden NOW. You have less than 9 months before we just merely BEGIN

I am quite serious. This it it. It's literally over.

The pyramid scheme that drove our world's productivity and extraction capitalism is entirely unsustainable has finally run out of lubricant and will promptly disintegrate.

The only thing we can do is back off from the controls and let nature take hold for a significantly less lethal transition back to our means. Politicians would die before they would sit there and let a wound heal instead of cutting on the operating table endlessly until it looks pretty and healed.

It doesn't matter where you live, you are fucked as everyone was effectively in on the scheme. The US will be the least fucked but still pretty bad. Not to mention their cosmic brains set off this monetary destruction and will carry it through like the snakes they are. Want to know why the jews got shit on every single time in history: Mercantalists by trade own all the gold and tend to not just survive but 100% thrive under economic collapse firesales.

>>19286575
It could come around next spring, this depends on psychology, the reason they are so damn reluctant to offer more universal stimulus is that it's a deathnote and they know it but the public are beasts of burden that need to be fed or they will tear the leaders apart for throwing them under the bus in favor of the bankers. Once people get back out again and the masks start disappearing, be alert.

It is also heavily dependent on how quickly we roll out assistance programs, they are entirely supported by debt and printing, borrowing from ourselves in the future and absolutely unsustainable.

Spend your stimulus and/ or borrow a rototiller.

Get everything you need to min max independent living. Solar is a good choice because energy is going to be fucked. Utterly fucked. Price-Cost-Value of oil leaves room for utter cataclysm now that the Saudis and Russians are having their pissing match during a massive global downturn so everyone shuts off their wells. They can go at it for a very very long time...

Negative oil should have plastered every single board on 4chan all the way to page 10.
We are in endgame here, money is worth less by the day.

my brother, you have a free house and 2 grand a month. the fuck is wrong with you?
I spend a grand a month, including rent and bills rn. the rest, the majority, goes into various hard assets. Sure I could be eating sushi and smoking blunts everyday with that money, but I'd be pissingan opportunity for real wealth up the wall. buy the cheapest functional cloths you can. eat porridge for brerakfast and rice / beans / frozen veg / meat for dinner. fuck lunch. buy discount books, and games on gog, ye oldie games are better anyway. Live like this during the hard times and the good. You get to be healthy, hard and financially secure. instead of fat, weak and broke.
If you have a girl who isnt feeling this vibe, she is using you. trade her in for a frugal one that works with or for you, not to exploit her. shitcoin and pm's for a couple of years and you will have some serious zeroson the end of your number. Remember, there are two kinds of people, rich people and peoples who's lives suck. dont try to dress up a suck ass life by blowing your money on treats. accept the pain and work for the real goal. I'd fucking kill to be rent free bro.

Well, I kinda expected this to be a sign of the end of America. Rome fell and the end of the USSR was described as "like living in a dream".

It's kinda like one of those times when you fuck up a city beyond salvage in a game but you cant just restart.

I don't nearly have enough money to survive. I've shorted the Tech industry as a whole and if that pays off with a big fat leg down I might see some more to work with, but the Fed is fighting that battle as well.

The yard is clear of weeds and i'm slowly working on convincing my dad that this is a "garden is necessary" situation.
A fire pit is next, but we really need a fence. The yard is essentially completely open to the street.

My gf and I are quarantining separately right now because her family has has a lot of health issues, and we both have asthma.

I'll figure this out. I've doomsday'd at my family members and anyone who would listen to get everyone on the same level of the reality of our situation, and I'll keep doing so.

spooky time we live in, friends.

Grow potatoes. #1 easiest thing ever. Do the Sq ft box method to get 100s of lbs of them.
Sweet and regular.

You can even sell them at inflated prices/ gold/ crypto to exploit the deflated asset firesale assuming your government doesn't try to interfere with you making decisions freely which is how we got into this mess in the first place. Plan for brutal crackdowns to ramp up exponentially attempting to interfere with any free commerce you intend to support yourself with, one dictator or another it's gonna be the same jackboot.

You'd like to think that... To fall, is a long way down, with plenty of room to grasp for slipping power.

I really wish I was in a stronger financial situation. 6-8 more years and I could have had a stronghold.
But eh, that's life, better luck next time. I'll just have to work with what I've got.

Health and youth are quite supreme, get any medical and dental you need now. Even small stuff.

The upside is if you make it through neofeudalist wageslaving will be a thing of the past, for the most part, the massive conglomerated extraction capitalism will not survive government collapse and restructure since they are entirely contingent upon the current ruleset of the system.

Don't listen to the propaganda and/ or lies by omission China is hardcore fucked and will print themselves to death same as us but SO MUCH harder and they have sparse arable land to even become independent at their population size.

Make damn sure you study the why and how, that your kids are taught from birth why this happened.

Capitalism is economic voluntarism, so anything to do with a government is not capitalism by definition. Get your terms right, it's important. This is due to socialism and forced redistribution through taxes.
