I don't think YouTube cares, they want to be the next NBC or MTV, Rogan is too off the plantation for the kinds of Big Ad dollars they're getting these days. I'm sure that's a big part of it, but I think the whole deplatforming thing scared him the most. YT is his only platform, and he blew his chance to build his own, and there's no other service that can handle the traffic for a 3 hour show multiple times a week, the bandwidth costs alone are insane. I have my doubts Spotify can handle it.
There's bigger issues, too - the big podcasters complain all the time that there's no support from YT when there's issues. Like if someone is fucking with your channel, it can take weeks to respond. Or at all. Or the whole new ruleset where if you post material that's for kids, they can take down your whole channel, no appeals, no recourse. YT is getting too shady and influenced by the wrong things to rely on, anymore, especially someone who wants to be edgy.
The only fucked part is Joe went for the easy bucks on that fucking app. It goes against everything he's been saying for years about being his own boss, not relying on corporations, etc. He sold out, HARD.
