Retard. They're not mutually exclusive. They need to be brought together to crush the misconception that if one does well the other will fail. Floating storage isn't the main business of tankers. The transportation of oil is. Moving forward, the exportation of oil is the big question for tankers and oil companies. Both need it to survive long term.

Don't even try to pretend like you know what's going to happen in June. Neither of us do. It's just my opinion that oil prices will rebalance soon.

Regardless, historically speaking (2016-2019) product tankers have traded at 80-90% of their NAV. Right now STNG specifically is trading at 50%.

Am I really so retarded for buying this dip @ $16.90/share and expecting it to go back to $23/share? Are you so pessimistic that you think Q2 earnings are already priced in?

Fuck off. You don't know shit. It's all up in the air and the situation will continue to be volatile.

WRONG!!!

These thread started casualy warning people of the great deal tankers were to the upcoming contango before the May rollover!
How I know?
Because thanks to those threads. I made money on STNG which I sold at the top and never went back to it.
I went make to FRO, and got fresh into DHT pre earnings, because I TOUGHT the earnings were going to be good. And THEY WERE!
So it was a wise bet. Not my fault they went down after the best earnings ever.
I rather lose money like that than make stupid mistakes like buying JCP on hope they get bailed instead of bankrupt. Same as tons of airlines.
Tankers are the safe bet, that is why now that retail is gone, all that left is us and BIG MONEY, because people betting their clients money want safe, future proof investments.

(70 percent of lottery winners end up bankrupt in just a few years after receiving a large financial windfall) No you wouldn't invest in him, and neither do most people when they see companies with their NAV propped up by two abnormal events that cant be expected again for future growth.

You're bagholding expecting a retard to win the lottery a second time.

Their NAV has a ton to do with both the tariff situation late last year and contango demurrage. Neither of which can be expected again anytime soon. STNG was on the downtrend long before those two events and now they're simply picking up where they left off. If you cant see that its because you don't want to see it because you're invested in it going back up. It's not my money depreciating so do whatever you want.

>>19250773
I included "not making profits" in there on purpose for your proposed magic increase.

Their NAV has very little to do with this quarter (it hasn't been calculated, the 32 NAV is based on last year), and tariffs had very little to do as well overall. It is because they have a huge, new product fleet. They took a gamble and went into massive debt and loss for a few years reworking and building until it was completed, and now it is perfectly timed with these "windfalls" which will so graciously eliminate the debt and position them as dominant forces in the market place for their sector.

But back to the actual point, no, you retard. NAV isn't "being propped," because your retarded self doesn't realize fucking cash flow is a thing. What, you think all these profits STNG just sat on them like a dragon on his gold? No, they fucking paid off liabilities. They aren't sitting on "cash" and propping up their NAV, their NAV increased because of their fleet and now because they are deleveraging....which is not propping up, but removing liabilities and turning highly profitable.

And funny how you mention the notes yet forget when you portrayed charts dishonestly with total ignorance on rates and operating costs. You know jackshit about the companies or industry. They haven't gained assets, they had them and are reducing liabilities. That isn't being "propped up."

And for the record, my FRO more than offsets my DHT. It is why I don't bet on 1 company.

That's the question moving forward, both for tankers and oil companies. If demand returns back to pre-rona levels quickly, too fast for the oil companies to open closed/new wells, this will lead to an expedited draw down of oil storage and a rebalancing of oil. Perhaps will even see demand overtake supply for a minute. The US alone consumes 20 million barrels p/d. A successful reopening might even send this number soaring for a short while. This would be bullish for both tankers and oil companies. Such a scenario might even save many oil companies from going bankrupt as the spot oil price would skyrocket. The problem is that there's two major unknowns, that being whether or not a 2nd wave of rona is coming and if another oil war is on the horizon. If there is a second wave all bets are off that there will be a speedy recovery. A 2nd wave would be bullish for tankers short term, but extremely bearish for oil companies. Overall, a second wave would be bearish for the whole market (and global economy). I believe oil companies are waiting to see if demand gets back to pre-rona levels before they initiate any attempts to capture market share aggressively, like the Russia-Saudi price war. If there's a second wave w/ renewed lock-downs, supply will overwhelm demand again and oil will be in an even more precarious position. From what I’ve read, it seems oil companies are poised to get back into business should the oil market return, with US oil companies closing mostly older, less efficient wells and their newest shale play (easier to reopen, relative to other wells). A similar scenario seems to have played out in OPEC countries. Oil companies seem to be looking for a fast bounce back, which is good for tankers. Honestly though, this is a very unpredictable market. I have little confidence in my own projections or the projections of others. There’s still 30 million+ newly unemployed Americans, & the virus that started this is still here.

HOLY SHIT WHAT FUCKING KIKES

Last week as we were going into June rollover their report said all demand was increasing as expected, demand was overtaking supply crisis averted, all production cuts are just fine and working as intended.

This week they scream that we are going to hit global supply unless we do more cuts now as demand has yet to overtake worldwide or we will be in danger of hitting the limit, floating storage will increase, demand is lower than expected, the US WILL bottleneck and needs to cut more if we are going to make it.

THEY FUCKING 180'ED THEIR VIEWS PREVIOUSLY ON HOPIUM, SAVED THE CONTRACTS, NOW 180'ED AGAIN TO BE REALISTIC.
