You can always ask whoever gives you the medication, whether it's a pharmacy or doctor's office, to do a Prior Authorization (PA) request to your health insurance. It's essentially a formal request for coverage stating that the drug is medically necessary, insurances usually do not reject them without good reason, esp. if there is no alternative. The insurance will cover the medication once they 'approve' the PA request, but this can take anywhere from three days to three weeks. Worth trying in my opinion.
