Because the most important thing for you from the perspective of the Abrahamic power structures is not to be a good human being, but to be a good sheep. On which exegesis do you make these claims? Which version of the Bible? Every book has been written by man, who perverts goodness for his own ends. Christ rejected the dogma of the Pharisees and asked the people to be good out of genuine love for one another, as radical and seemingly impossible as that goal is given the nature of man. that is why he was courageous. to ignore this and revert to dogmatic proclamations based on collations created hundreds of years after Christ’s death seems to be missing the point, even though perhaps some part of you is motivated by your love for your fellow man and your wish that they have salvation

what’s more likely is that bad people enjoy seeking power and using it for personal gain, overtly or otherwise. this is not an obscured fact and has been the reality through thousands of years. cloaking it in metaphor is pointless when there has always been a new “antichrist“ and a new “mark of the beast” to reflect whoever is the current oppressor and whatever mechanism they’re using to influence human behavior. this time it’s digital cash, next time could be some kind of alternate digital reality. the point being that constantly shifting the meaning of an ancient metaphor distracts from what is actually happening in a given moment.
