Anybody here with experience in selling puts and covered calls?
The cov call is pretty straightforward in that I chose the price to have a net profit upon being assigned but What price do I chose for the puts? IVs vary greatly for different strikes.
Is there a way to get a trailing “volatility” score for a stock that somehow allows you to price put strikes so you can try to roll forward a couple contracts without being assigned?

Any good resources to get me started are much appreciated.

Solely for the reason that we have 0% interests rates and massive boomer QE to inflate the stock market even further.

When it pumps like this, all I can think is "oh good, so when it goes down it will most likely have higher lows and find support at an increasing distance away from my entry point"

I know that if I was able to time it right and sell when it was high and buy when it dips, that I could make even more money up and down the uptrend, but I just have a hard time having confidence in my ability to call peaks and dips.

Anyone else do this?

Think about trimming and rotating. Depending on your trading ideas. Assuming you want to actually trade you probably know the catalyst for each position and can adjust.

It's less about timing everything and just generally getting it correct over time. Not actually hitting every movement.

AKA this stock I like got hit today and the other upgraded today. I'll rotate out by trimming the upgraded stock a little and buy the hit stock up a little.

You aren't timing the top or bottom but instead making small trims and rotations.

My theory is that massive inflation is currently taking place. Stocks are rising because our buying power is decreasing. The guvment is going to have to buy trillions more in bonds and every one of those bonds is going to get swapped for cash. Banks dont want cash for fear of negative interest rates so they pump it into assets like stocks.

Just my theory though.

You don't get it, do you? There's a shortage of dollar supply in the rest of the world, debts are still transacted in dollar, countries cannot import products and raw materials without the dollar. If dollar dies, then the US treasuries that China and Japan is holding will be rendered WORTHLESS.

Dollar Milkshake Theory, is what the Fed is doing. Simply, the Fed isn't draining the dollar, but rather the value of the other currencies, euro, dinar, ruble, peso, yen, yuan, etc; and the countries of these currencies will be forced to rev up their printers to keep up with the USD. The more USD the Fed prints, the higher the other countries' inflation will rise.

ANONS.
I put my budget for the next few days in and then sold one share of CCL so I could purchase one TQQQ.
I know CCL had a huge day just now and its bookings are insane right now, but I should still yield more from one whole TQQQ than from just 1 CCL share even if the rest of the week is just as good as today was, right?
Did I do good or did I fuck up?
I still have 6 shares of CCL.

Reminder that unemployment is irrelevant. Watch Star Trek or Expanse and educate yourselves. Unemployment in these futuristic societies is 80%+. Most people in the future do not have jobs according to these shows and other popular science fiction. This is because there is no reason for people to do many of the meaningless tasks that are required nowadays with technological advances. Unemployment increasing is bullish because it shows society trending to a future post-employment state. The people without jobs will be supported up by the few remaining with jobs due to increases in efficiency.
