Newfag to shitcoins here but please try to explain this:
Let’s assume that xrp is as efficient as they say and serves banking purposes the best way etc. why would they let xrp value go much above the dollar’s? wouldn’t something like that be inconvenient for the banks, on a technical level?

>> No.19111821

What does the current value of the token have anything to do with it on a technical level. 1 xrp is still 1 xrp

>> No.19112005

>>19111821
Yeah but what the xrp is praised for, is the minimum time per transaction. Imagine that after every interbank transaction the xrp has to be changed into a different currency. I understand that as a currency is subdivision-able but wouldn’t it be more convenient for banks if that currency’s value was as high as the most liquid currency in the world, which is the usd?

higher value = more liquidity

Why would that matter?

>> No.19112429

>>19111503
if you need to transfer 100 bucks its easier to transfer 1-10 xrp than some decimal number, it burns less per transaction, for protocol use its less likely for a wagie to fuck it up if its being widely used, it would theoretically also for additional scaling as the transactions would be less spammed.

You're picking it up quick. The fact is banks don't want this piece of shit, they want Ripplenet. Banks don't want to hold something retail investors trying to speculate on.

If global finance imploded tomorrow then yeah maybe some of the smaller ones in the developing world night want XRP as a turnkey solution but there is no way Ripple wouldn't come up with an OTC token for banks (hint NOT the XRP you can buy right now) when they finally want to use xRapid or whatever the fuck.

Basically, save your money for the IPO and watch the pajeets hang themselves when Jed and Garlinghouse fuck the last of the bagholders.

The banks have had their XRP stockpiles for years now. They've been bought in since the beginning.

>> No.19112730

as opposed to base it off of another currency (usd/forex, oil, or gold) which is inheritly speculative as well?

Thanks anon. I think that this pretty much explains it.

>> No.19112910

Yeah, I was also wondering why would they let anyone, other than the banks use a token like that.

You don't know me and have zero reason to trust me. That being said, I could not give a shit if you follow my advice or not.

If you're not poor, 1000 XRP costs about $200 (fuck all).

I have no idea about TA and I don't analyse the markets so there's a strong chance it may go lower and stay there (possibly for years) but be aware of this, there is 100 bn XRP in existence, about half of that is circulating so your $200 dollars will benefit me in no way, even if 100 people see this and buy in, it has zero benefit to me.

I fell for FUD but since June 2017, I have been putting 10% of my salary into XRP every month, massive risk yes but it is the most promising crypto out there based on utility and the guys backing it.

There is so much information out there, I'm not going to waste my time selling it. Listen or don't, you can't say you weren't warned.

Already have my rope! Probably 2 years before XRP goes to 0 and I kneck myself for wasting 30K on it. So many bad decisions all in one year, getting a bunch of money all at once does make you do stupid things.

30k ripplies or you bought smaller stack at a higher price? i hold about a 2500 stack bought between 22-28 cents, though not feeling very comfy

In May 2017 it was over $0.40. Today in May 2020 it's under $0.20. It's not FUD. People were told not to invest in this scam and unless you timed the pump and dump just right almost everybody would be better off not touching this dogshit.

OP here
I do hold 1k xrp just for the gamble. As anon said above, 200$ is an amount that all can afford to lose but if it goes north, it might be 20x or even more

Started catching the falling knife around $.80 and was one of the retards who thought he was "averaging down" and "just buying the dip" so I have about 40k shitcoins. I know logically I should cut my losses but after such losses Id rather go down with the ship and enjoy my bitterness and have a reminder of being cucked by Dave and Brad.

XRP = above $1 for a month
XRP = above 80 cents for half a year
XRP = above 40 cents for full year
