It’s a total scam anon. Just go to trade school and learn a practical skill like welding or CNC machining or plumbing. You’ll always be employed.

you can learn those at functional level in 2 weeks
is it worth it the 100k?

>> No.19085769

The really concrete, obvious things like how to use software X or research Y, you can learn all of that for free on the internet in most cases. Case in point, just about everything I do at my job (30 y/o, ~120k) I learned to do on YouTube. So in that sense, yes, it sure is a scam. However, I wouldn’t have made any of the connections that lead me to my last job, or to my current job, had I not attended university. On a more subtle level, just being exposed to more ideas and being in an environment where everyone is striving to improve their lives has a tremendous impact on the way you think. So it’s really not an easy answer as to whether college is a scam or not.

Was able to meet my angelic girlfriend who is uncucked by media faggotry. It also afforded me travel experience somewhere I would never have gone otherwise and was surprised to find I loved, 3 years of easy living and a degree that gave me access to a half-decent job.

I studied Biotech.

It depends on what you want in life. If you want to be a doctor or scientist or something, you have to go. If you just want to make money, then yes it is a scam. Overall you can tell it's a scam just by what they charge for online classes or textbooks

These are good posts anon. I have M.A. in Economics (I also did a lot of Poli and History). So, I had a classic humanities degree and education. Anything pertaining to finance is either a bullshit internship for business students or requires an accountant certificate. I was an army reservist and so now I make ~$80,000 annual right out of university.

Fact is though, the vast majority of graduates from my B.A. and M.A. are either retail or pursuing for education. I was lucky and I'm compensated because I sought competitive good vernment work. Most people who do a trade will pursue a degree in their late 20s or early 30s if they want to climb the ladder (but they already have resources to do so unlike new graduates). Depends man - but degrees other than professional vocations like lawyer, engineer, doctor area fucking meme.

>> No.19086384

not going to college today is like not going to high school in your parents time

everyone who's made the effort to jump through that hoop (that's the main thing college proves, that you have an attention span and can finish tasks) will look down on you and throw your resume into the trash

but if you have a career that doesnt involve resumes by all means skip college

Idk, I went to college to party and coasted by. Made some friends and made good memories that will last forever and are priceless. For normies, it's worth it. College is really just a daycare for recently independent children.

That being said, most developers are actually self taught. For finding likeminded people who share your interests, college isn't too bad.

Btw I ended up in a 60k a year coding position and I don't know how to kode, but it's already been a year and I'm still surviving. I learned that you can't code without real interest, so there's your flaw for the juslern2kode meme.

Got an engineering degree from a Canadian university.

University degrees here are already a prerequisite for many paths in life, and even for some international certifications (e.g project management). On top of that, you need an accredited engineering degree to become a licensed engineer - so you pay in to a monopoly, but it does pay out.

That said, the easiest pussy you will ever find to sleep with in life, potentially meet friends you want to do future business with, and stories to look back on. It will also give you a good sense of grounding, many people are fond of their home university later in life.

Just don't get some bull-shit degree in the humanities, and you are guaranteed to make it.

Dropped out at the end of second year, but taught myself to code in the years since leaving. A degree would have opened my career doors a little earlier.

Most people I've encountered who studied a computer related degree are pretty underwhelming programmers who lack creativity in their problem solving. Guess that's why I'm the engineering lead and they aren't.

tl:dr if you were meant to succeed you can do it with or without a degree.

No. But it's exclusively for people who have a specific career in mind.
The mentality that you will only be able to function in society with a college degree is built on a scam

>What did it give you in return?
A useless culinary degree that has gotten me no money but tons of pussy
