What's the status of BAT are they implementing the token correctly? Or is it just a pay pig tip token?

>> No.19055280

If they didn't require uphold to send BAT out of the wallet then I'd say it was being handled correctly. Sadly this isn't the case.

Their kyc is waaaaaaayyyyyyy outa hand no one will ever use that uphold BS. They need to find a better solution before they Get mass adoption or people will be scared away from using it. Their going to say “I’m better of just using chrome” I’m not trying to fud here I actually want it to work but it ain’t happening if it’s tied to uphold

and what is your solution genius?

People are adopting the browser without even knowing about BAT and are happy. No one is going to drop it because the free thing they didn’t know about is difficult to withdraw. Hopefully they dø make it easier to withdraw it soon.

Why do they need kyc for people who earn a few bucks a month from clicking on ads? Seems excessive to me.

solution to what? His gripe is with Uphold, as is mine. Why the fuck are you defending kyc when Brave will make a profit from advertisers anyway? Why are you so mad and stupid?

This is true people might still use brave but they won’t need BAT if no one uses it due to BAT having people tie their crypto to kyc wich is tied to their browser

>> No.19055793

They would however be more inclined or enthusiastic to use it if it was easier and less intrusive to use it’s not a BAT or brave problem it’s an uphold problem.

Im honestly just tired of the elementary level thinking. Two years ago it was "nobody is going to use brave" now its just one shifted goal post after another. KYC is necessary to run a legal business and all I see is "kyc bad" never "uphold sucks and they need to use coinbase as their KYC provider"

I would honestly be extremely worried if Brave just ignored guidelines to appease a small subset of crypto users just so the government would shut them down.

>> No.19056069

>>19055883
nobody's moving the goalpost. brave/bat had hurdles initially to overcome, and with progress has new ones now. so of course people are going to point those hurdles out.

Slow to pick up trends? Kyc for everything and especially everything money is the future (((they))) whant

>> No.19056169

How is KYC a hurdle though? Skirting financial regulations is against the law. If people are now using brave and KYC is a non issue then what is holding people back from loading up on BAT? Its much further ahead than just about every single crypto token.

What don't you understand about this being an uphold problem... it's been stated many times.

If you want to move BAT out of Brave's native wallet, you should be able to do that - there's nothing illegal about it. If at some point in time KYC will be used to turn it into cash, let that be the responsibility of that person. How does this not make sense to you?

So you don't mind your browsing and posting history being tied to your crypto wallets and bank accounts? Do you think social justice warriors would find nothing at all to complain about when they read that shit?

You are assuming a perfect world where fraud doesn't exist and most of the world knows how to use crypto wallets without a custodian. It would be a cool feature but its not practical, and im sure the FATF isn't too fond of that idea either. Crypto users are not the target market and if they were I would have sold a long time ago.

>>19056418
My browser data is not linked to my uphold account. All the data is on device and the only data uphold gets is my wallet i.d. with its balance.

>let’s target users who value their right to privacy and being given a choice in content they consume

>they’ll totally be fine with mandatory kyc, lol

I love the browser but Im never going to actually collect my BAT unless they fix things

>> No.19056633

They only have to follow KYC requirements if they want to withdraw. You are also assuming they wont have the option to use their BAT for paywalls or premium services like vpn's etc. Anyone who is in crypto has to follow KYC requirements anyways, and anyone who wants to withdraw cash from online has already done KYC through their bank. I would be more worried about a credit union or police officer asking for my drivers license and selfie than uphold.

This.
Why would you even need kyc for brave generated BAT that you earn. You can't launder money that way.

Shits fucking stupid. You need to KYC in order to withdraw a CRYPTO token from your wallet. Wtf is even the point of the token then? Do this shit with fiat.

You just know some disgusting mutt came up with that idea.
Also BAT is a shitcoin anon
