Jobs, careers, or simple one-man businesses that pay at least $50,000+ per year but that:
>Require little or no college.
>Require little or no manual labor.
>Don't take up too much time (60 hours a week tops).

Bonus if it's fun or easy.
Top tier if it's both fun and easy.

I'm not sure if this fits exactly in your criteria regarding manual labor, but motherfucking welding is where it's at. Even in the U.S, there's more welding jobs opening up, and as long as you can pull off some trick welds to get past the initial evaluation, you're golden. No schooling required, you only need some skill and know-how. I'm going to community college, which I know it sucks, but I'm getting paid to go to school via Pell Grant, and I get certified with some welding experience on the resume.
One-Man-Buisness potential: Sky high nigga. If you can weld aluminum, or even repair cast iron, you can make a living by opening a welding shop.
Welding jobs pay at the extreme least $15 an hour because loltradeskillzz. If you get a job with a production shop, you can work inside all day welding the same shit, or a maintenance job, fixing shit, usually indoors for a buisness/school. Then there's oilfield work, which pays good, but it's the worst because Oilfield workers are the biggest cocksuckers on the goddamn planet. Enjoy working in the fucking elements all day with retards. Pic related:mfw I see an oilfield worker.

If you're making $15 an hour, you won't need to work 40-60 hours a week. Yeah, your boss might not be thrilled by your lack of initiative, but if you passed that weld test, you might be enough of an asset to hold onto. Welding jobs also have two major things going for them in /biz/ terms.
Union:Welders have a union to themselves, and the union even has a presence in motherfucking Texas, which is one of the least union-friendly states in the U.S. Union workers get paid twice as much for half the work. No shit. Texans might not like you because of it, but you're rolling in dosh, for fucks sake. They're jelly.
Second, it's one of the few jobs left where you can be paid in straight cash. I worked for three years in a welding shop next to a motorcycle shop, and when I was hired, I asked the boss if it was okay if I took $13 an hour cash, instead of $15 check. For some this is a bad idea, but I spend my cash, and don't let the government dole it out to black and white trash.

This is now a welding thread:
The reason jobs are opening up is because the old welders are dying. There's a gap, because welding is frowned upon as "menial" "demeaning" "low-class" and as such there were generations who decided to deny the great boon that is a welding job. Now, with more pipelines and oilfields opening up in the U.S, and the harvesting of raw materials, welders are not only in demand because of their low numbers, but because of WHAT THEY DO.
"What does a welder do, anon?"
Fucking. Everything.
Welding is the process of joining two objects. That's the definition. Try building something that's too big to be held up by fucking nails, and you need a welder.
"What about rivets, anon?"
WHAT ABOUT THEM. Rivets are nothing compared to the glory of welding. Rivets need holes to go into, thereby weakening the joined part. In comparison, welds STRENGTHEN THE METAL. If you rip/bend a piece of welded metal, the metal will break before the actual weld.
You sold on this yet, OP?
No?
SO BE IT.

Welds are cheap as fuck. A brand new, top of the line welder can be had for $10,000. You can get a used welding machine that's good enough for holding a job for $2,000. A cheap, immobile welder for the shop? 200 bucks and you canget the welding machine, leads, and a box of welding rods/electrodes(or 'trodes, as we in the /biz/ call them).
With your welding machine, using the ultra cheap, ultra effective SMAW(Stick welding) process, you can weld mild steel, cast iron, aluminum, and more exotic metals like titanium. If you learn how to weld these metals, (which is easy, all you do is switch the rod to one made for aluminum, and maybe adjust the amperage) You now have a unique and highly in demand skillset. Here's some stats, because /biz/ loves numbers. These apply only in the U.S.
Min. Wage:~7.25 an hour.
Welder's Min. Wage:15 an hour.
Welder's normal wage: $25 an hour.
Pipeliner/Oilfield wage:40-60 an hour
Underwater welder's Min. Wage:70 an hour.
Alaska: Alaska is a glorious state for welders. There are more than a few welders making over $100 an hour on pipeline shit in Alaska.

Why do welder's make so much dosh?
-There aren't many of us.
-What we do is essential. This isn't like McDonalds.
-Welders have an innate knowledge of metallurgy, temperature, chemistry, and a decent amount of math. With these skills, a welder can go into many other fields, like engineering and shit.
-Welders don't complain. They don't need to. You don't pay them, they leave, or the welds will break, or they'll start wasting materials.
-Welders can be used anywhere. We're trained in both Standard and Metric measurements, and how to convert them accurately. A welder can find a job across the world.
Now what are the cons of being a welder?

The cons of being a welder:
One con is the cons: there are many ex-convicts in the welding biz. Welding is a trade taught in many prisons, and it's not really a service industry, so it's okay to hire them. It's not okay to work next to fucking Molesty McGee.
-The people who aren't convicts are assholes. This is a general statement, but it's true. There is no other field of work that caters to assholes like the welding industry, except maybe retail. I think it's a combo of the elitism that comes from a trade job, and also having more income than everyone else. You should see the dumb shit they buy. Expensive sunglasses they can't wear, fur coats for their whore wives, and the amount spent on lift kits is staggering.
-Whores: You'll never know if a woman loves you or your wallet if you work in a place with an abundance of welders. Dumb, fat, trailer trash flock to welding areas because of this.
-Meth/Crack: Drugs are a problem, as there is little oversight. You're given an assignment, and expected to do it with no help or supervision. They screen for drugs and alcohol once, but after that, well, as the blacks say, sheeeit.
Questions?

Females should definitely consider a welding job. It's proven that they're slightly better at it because of their steady hands, patience, and attention to detail. They keep an eye out for women.
Look up welding jobs via Craigslist(Yeah I know, but there are a lot of trade jobs to be found on CL)If you don;t qualify for any of them, take some classes. They're usually cheap. Also, you may want to speak to the boss/whoever in person, as it costs them nothing to give you a chance in the long run, and they sometimes raise the standards a little too high to weed out sissies.

For a general certification, yes. A cert. you get from a college lets them know you can weld, cut, and handle metal. There are other certs that are specific to whatever job you'll be doing, but they're normally taught during an orientation period. I'm talking about you having to use a certain electrode, at a certain angle, on a certain amperage, on only certain approved joints. You're tested on these on the job, usually after following a full welder around for a while.

If you look too feeble, you look like your'e a woman, you're not white, you're not the type to drink beer and have a beer gut and watch the game. That doesn't happen much nowadays. OSHA, ANSI, AWS all have standards that must be met. Gasses can't accumulate in harmful doses, so they're usually sucked and filtered outside, or you're outside, in which case you're good. Also, with the advent of auto-darkening helmets, getting flashed isn't really common. If it's unsafe, there's probably a safety regulation that's being broken.

Sounds retarded, but the best money/time spent earning it was being a windowcleaner. Yeah, I know it's looked down upon, but when you can easily make a grand a week working 4-6 hours a day, in your own time, it's hard to knock. Also only requires the ability to drive a car (debatable, really, but depends on your round).

An example of how to do it:

>Get a round of 400-600 houses
>Aim to do 100 a week, usually a tenner a time (britbong speaking)
>That's twenty a day
>Most small houses take 15-20 minutes
>On this, you can usually do 3-4 an hour (and at 10 pound a pop, that's pretty good).
>Start at 8 in the morning, and finish by 1-2 in the afternoon
>60% pay by cash, the rest is by check
>£1,000 a week
>Only real payouts are your car (if your round takes you all over the place, a real necessity if you have 400-600 houses as I advise).
>As most people don't want to have their windows washed once a week, the 400-600 will make sure you have enough for 4-6 weeks, before the cycle starts again.

>Initial investment (assuming you have a car): £100

As a side job for the summer, you can become a wasp killer, and easily charge up to £30 per house, plus an extra £10 per nest on the house. This costs an awful lot, though, so don't expect to have such a high return.

>tfw I used to do this for a living for two years, making £1000+ a week, but got a "real" job at the behest of family and friends, and now I'm lucky to rake in £200 a week, in that "God-blessed" field of engineering.

>Applying for some business when it comes to window cleaning.

You're an idiot, and I mean that in the nicest way.

Start it up yourself. You don't even need a car if you start out small. What you'll need is:

>30-60 feet ladder, I went for 50 feet for £85
>Wiper blade, £4 from any simple shop, even the home use ones will do.
>A rolling mop, which is about £5
>Bucket, steal that from somewhere, no-one will miss it
>milk-carton crate, again, thieve it or just ask for one from the local shops, they'll give you one.

Then just hit the streets, preferably where you live. Most people will say yes, but say "I'll pay you £7 for it". That's because most window-cleaners only clean windows. I threw in cleaning the doors and window sills as part of my basic skills of window cleaning, and everyone was happy for it.

Some degree of social skills is needed, but as long as you're friendly and can engage in conversation, most people will take you on (I'd say 35%, but I get on well with lots of people anyway, so maybe it was just higher for me).

It doesn't take a genius to do this, and you can easily net in £40,000+ plus a year. You'll build up your social circle, become better with people, and be an active member of the community. Once you become a regular face, law enforcement tends to be on your side a lot of the time, because you have a good reputation and are well known.

of course, you won't really get anywhere with that kind of money (several holidays a year), but if you're not stupid like myself (too fond of the pub) you can easily save up and invest in a home, or stocks/bonds.

More advice on why this is a god-tier, easy-as-shit, releatively quick money-making business to follow if anyone wants it. Just say so.

Pro's:
>Easy cash, very little time. Got a gift for the gab, and don't mind working 8-2? You'll easily make £30 an hour.
>Social skills. Brilliant for 4chan regulars. You're forced to talk to people, so you eventually beocme non aspie.
>If you start out small and just do regular houses around your street/area, you can get away without having a car. Carrying around ladders/buckets of water for an entire day will negate money spent on gym.
>If you're a bit of a perv, you can usually see women/girls getting dressed.
>If people can't pay, you can get sex if it's a woman (sometimes, but don't push it you idiots).
>You become better known in your community, so you can occasionally get free shit/knock-off prices.

Cons:
>It's manual labour
>If it's a small round, you HAVE to work no matter the weather
>When it's a large round, you WILL need a car to get you round to the houses, so this will cut your profits down A LITTLE BIT. DON'T BE A FUCKING RETARD AND GET A SPORTS CAR FOR THIS JOB. GODDAMMIT, SOME STUPID KID I HAD WORKING FOR ME DID THIS, THE DUMB CUNT.
>No cushy office job, but I like manual labour, so meh.
>You will be judged for not having a proper job. Fuck 'em.

Anyway, gotta eat, so will answer questions when back.

Thank you, Anon. I wonder if you could get away with charging £40 or even £50 an hour. I know there's a limit where people won't hire you for that much, but I wonder where that limit is. Anyway, thanks m80. I have to go now too but it will be for some hours.

Mostly outside. Some of of my older customers I used to do inside, but that's because they gave me a free meal every now and then, so I never really cared. When I like someone, it pays to do free shit for them. It's usually returned ten-fold.

>>188945

East Midlands, and that's all I'll say on it.

>>188957

Also, some general advice for when you come back anon.

>Sunny days are shit. Water dries too quick, and you can't tell where the smears are. Customers hate smears.
>Cloudy days are Godly. You can wipe the shit off quick, people won't bug you, and you can usually get a job done quick.
>Never undercut your competitors, but offer MORE than them. One reason why I think I was as good as I was was because I offered to do more, for a little bit more.
>Invest in good boots, in case you have to stand on conservatories, or on ledges to get to nigh-impossible windows. Charge more for these houses.
>Do it for free every now and again, but don't let them take the piss. Most people I my round knew I could let them get away with a 3 free cleans a year, but I always got something out of it in the end.
>Old people are wonderful and will more than likely take you on if you're nice and friendly. Don't be grumpy teen. If you don't have a gregarious personality, I'll throw in some advice, but on /adv/ instead because this board isn't the place for it.
>Save your cash, and get good insurance. I was once out for three months. My insurance covered me for it, but I had to hire some kid with the stupid sports car. I took 30% of his earnings, but fuck, that kid was an idiot.

People paid me after the job was done. if they weren't in, I left them a receipt with the bill on it and collected it that evening, next day tops.

Also, when your customers trust you enough, they will give you special treatment (where the back gate keys are, etc). Do not abuse that trust, at all. You WILL lose customers/potential customers because of it. And be tidy when you leave.

Get in at a small company and become irreplaceable. To do this you must be better than anyone else at the job, you must bust your ass, first in last out everyday, no phony sick days, vacation at the boss's discretion. When on vacation, be in contact, since they will not be able to fully function without you - this actually makes you look good. Get XP and if they jerk you around, line up another job and tell them you are prepared to walk. If you really are that good they will try to keep you. Remember this will only work at smaller companies that can't afford to pay 5 retards/women to do 1 job.

My job is technical support. You can go with a training company that will help you do the certs in record time and then place you in your first job. From there you can have a career. Technically, it's a white collar career although I would say near the bottom.

As for businesses, buddy up with one other and split the profits to prepare food at home and sell at markets. You need to pay for raw ingredients, cooking costs, transport, stall fees. If you do it with a buddy there is no need to pay salaries, just simply split the profits. This is BIG money at the moment, I reckon you can make a little more than your 50k/yr doing that.
