Bitcoin is a safe thing that is still in its early stages, like Internet in the 1990s. Right now it is still massively undervalued, which means it’s still easy for a few whales to control the price action to a fairly large degree. That doesn’t invalidate Bitcoin, it will be less easily manipulated the bigger and smarter the money that enters it, and that’s the current trajectory (real money stepping in). But right now, the perspective that seems to make the most sense to me is that a bunch of whales who hold a lot of btc can bounce the price up and down in quite major ways and use that to make money writing derivatives and liquidating their counters.
