If you want people to sell, just tell them everything is going to be fine and have record highs.

If the financial experts want everyone to not get absolutely obliterated when it does fall, they'll need to use reverse psychology.

I don't think anyone wants that blood on their hands and stand to be accused of lying when it does go down the shitter, though.

Really? This is easy. Retail investor is always going to get what on.

>> No.18967168

OK, let's figure this out. What mechanisms could cause the markets to fall further from here?

To start, the reason markets are recovering is because the fundamentals haven't changed - even with a three-month complete pause there is reason to believe that activity will return at levels approximating where they were within six months or so. In that case, many stocks were oversold in early March and people got back in at discount.

Following that, what could change this situation? Primarily it would be a fundamental shift in the way economic activity occurs, and extended changes to normal consumer behavior. A "second-wave" lockdown is what you need there, coupled with consumer paranoia about certain types of spending and activity. If a significant trigger for that appears, expect markets to crash again.

which is the more likely scenario?

>> No.18967198

Retards ITT gonna get rekt. Reminder that Goldman called the last bitcoin top AND bottom.

>> No.18967266

>>18967168
Did you take into account that retail, restaurants and small business got rekt. The big stocks will be fine. But these small businesses cant just open in one week. But a lot can go out of business in a week with no revenue.

Not to mention too a lot of the small people relies on these small businesses for work. Very little people have essential jobs in manufacturing healthcare and security.

When your etf pumps sell immediately and buy a stock that is very low but emotional ie apple- tesla. When the Fed dumps more cash they will definitely pump then you cash out.

We've got stupid high unemployment,

people who refuse to believe Corona is real,
a stock market thats an irresistible honeypot operating completely opposite of everyone's expectations,
etc etc.

I honestly feel like its trying to sweat out all the bears to convince everyone that everything is daijobu then itll dump again like all the CEO's did leading into this.

It's all a fucking mess.
This is a Disbelief Disaster.

I had told close friends to dump all their stocks at a market high back in October. No one took my advise & wrote me off. I even mentioned to a few people to sell their houses just to downsize in the country side for a smaller cheaper house. Still no one listened.

I didn't really know how it was going to happen. I saw student debt still rising as well as drop outs increasing over the course of just 12 months. Pedsonal debt being high was really the only logical step after the 2004 bailout/2008 recession on housing debt. This was one thing along with growing trade tensions with China making me at least know we're in a bubble economy. Trump's spike in economic hope & growth made larger companies confident to the point of overexpanidng where they took on bad debt.

All terrible signs.
I didn't really have much invested anyway.

Imo that's the elephant in room the market is not pricing in and kind of doesnt want to realize: The economy doesn't care if the damage done to it was "on purpose" or "markets were in good shape before Corona". Once the damage is there, it is to be dealt with. 15% unemployment rate are 15%. There's no mechanism that brings the people quicker back into work just because the lockdowns were on purpose. The damage will have to be figured out the same way as in every economic downturn. Let me know what you think
