I mean Ripple had a larger return than even that from just 2016-2017 so I think he's kind of wrong. These days it is a different market though. It IS harder to make it big in this market than it used to be.

This. I seriously wonder if BTC is a psyop to get normie investors to buy in while leverage exchanges rape them with market manipulation. ETH and DeFi is where the future lies and in where smart money is.

Literally who? He's probably a journalist. He doesn't even understand that businesses are created all the time and bull runs like these are pretty easy to come by. This is why we have venture capitalists. He probably doesn't even understand how BTC works. Journalists != expert. He's not wrong if we're talking about Bitcoin only but there is an entire crypto market that will have massive gains, maybe not the same percentages but certainly enough to make a lot of people a lot of money. Decentralized data inputs and outputs as well as decentralized cloud data storage are the last 10000x +. It will take a decade or so probably but I don't know if anything will compare to BTC in the long scheme. Its been the greatest investment of all of human history going from like .10 to almost 20K. Its honestly unreal.

BTC is still king, its truely deflationary and has infinite value potentially its too bad the chain sucks. Lol

Bitcoins only use case is a trading token. Change my mind.

>> No.18943433

>>18943305
>>18943305

I'd say that is actually true. Its a store of value not meant to be traded often honestly. The wealthy have too much money and it gets hard to diversify. Its why the ultra wealthy deal with art and artifacts as well. You can use it as tax write off if you give it to a museum (You are already connected to it as well through proxies). You can artificially inflate the value of art to protect your money.

Now with BTC they created a system where infinite funds can be placed without fear of theft and storage. Not to mention that its truly deflationary. Over time almost no more BTC can be mined, and eventually none. We are almost at 90% already. A lot will be gone from loss of private keys. Its an asset that can never be replicated. I think someone else could even build a better protocol stritcly for trading value between people with all the best features of BTC plus more and it would still fall short because BTC was just the first.

block reward gets cut in half. Makes the currency more scarce. Price is going up as a response. This is the third halving. Some think the price will go up or down, when in reality the price will freeze and never fluctuate again leaving it at exactly at the price at the time it halves.
