It's called paying back everything at the end of the month and never paying a penny in interest.

I recently learned there's a whole community of people that sign up for credit cards just for the offers. Credit Card Churning. I should make a /churn general/ thread, seems very Business and Finance related.

I'm one of those. I have 15 active credit card accounts. I sign up and do whatever is required to get the bonus. Then I pay off the card and never use it again. I've made at least $3,000 this way.

>> No.18943524

Savor card is meh. I have a card for nearly every category. 5% gas (AMEX). 5% rotating category (Discover & Chase). 5% Amazon. 3% grocery (Huntington, selected category). 3% dining & travel (Costco). 2.5% everything else (Ollo Optimum). All no annual fee.

>>18943183
Retarded nigger with bad credit, shut up. I've gotten near $10K in credit card benefits between cash rewards, damage claims, price matching, and return guarantees in just the last 8 years. Paid $0 in interest because I'm not a broke retard. Unfortunately more people are becoming savvy with this shit and a lot of cards have lost these benefits.

are there any downsides to having a shitload of credit cards? does it hurt your credit?

>> No.18943585

>>18943540
every time you open a new card your score drops. not an issue if you don't need to take out a loan in the next five or so years. also possibility of getting blacklisted if you churn too obviously or too hard.

>> No.18943596

>>18943540
You will lower your average account age each time you add a new account. But it's not very relevant in determining your score, and you could just close the new accounts after you get the bonus. But more available credit always looks better.

>> No.18943607

>>18943583
doesn't hurt to have a lot, hurts it to open a new one. one factor of credit score is average age of all your accounts, so opening a new card will naturally drop your average a bit, but it bounces back.

>> No.18943641

>>18943583
You will lower your average account age every time you open a new account, not a big deal. Hard inquiries will also cause a slight hit, but again, not a big deal. I've had over 50 inquiries on my report before and still had a score over 750. Biggest factors are lots of available credit, low usage (ideally 0 unpaid usage on your credit cards), and payment history.
